The unique lock t feture further secures ech joint. The Selkirk Inst-Lock Gs Vent system is ville in 3 dimeters 102mm (4"), 127mm (5") nd 152mm (6") nd is suitle for gs pplinces in domestic or smll commercil instlltions with drughthoods or with flue gs temperture not exceeding 260 C, nd where the pplince is fitted with drught-hood or diverter. Considertion should e mde to the sulphur content of the fuel oil which cn hve hrmful effect on luminium if excessive condenstion conditions re llowed to persist in the flue. The outer csing is zlutite. Verticl sems re rolled nd securely locked. The inner nd outer csings re joined t one end only nd 6mm (1/4") ir gp is incorported: the inner liner is therfore free to expnd s the temperture chnges in the flue. The vrious components re joined y simple swged locking joint nd lock t if desired. Selkirk Inst-Lock Gs Vent LOCKTAB feture Our LOCKTAB feture ws developed in response to customer feedck concerning the use of sheet metl screws to secure GAS VENT sections. In mny res, the use of sheet metl screws is either commonly ccepted prctice or locl requirement. The use of 1/4" sheet metl screws is expensive nd time-consuming for instllers. The use of our LOCKTAB feture gives instllers the option of engging this t insted of using sheet metl screws. The LOCKTAB is then depressed with thum or lunt oject such s screwdriver into the lock chnnel of the mle end of the pipe. INSTALLATION 3. To disengge the LOCKTAB, pry it up y using screwdriver or knife lde. Instlltion instructions re pckged with ech Chimney support nd re lso ville Jointing All lengths nd fittings re designed to e instlled with the mle coupling uppermost. The femle coupling of the next component is pushed nd twisted into plce to provide firm nd secure connection y simple locking device nd lock t for dded security. Supports Wll nds re ville nd for wll fixed instlltions should e used t 3m (10ft.) centres. The wll nds give nominl 50mm (2") clernce to the wll nd provide lterl support. A Support Plte is ville which provides support for the vent t floor penetrtions. The support plte is fixed on top of the floor joists nd the flnged collr is clmped round the flue. The flnge rests on the plte. A firestop plte is used on the underside of the ceiling penetrtion. Both components provide 25mm ir gp clernce from comustiles. Where the gs vent extends more thn 1m ove the lst support (not including the terminl) it must e rced. s of Vent s re ville from 152mm (6") to 1523mm (60") nd should e used in comintion to mke up the required height. Gs vent lengths should not e cut. Adjustle lengths re ville to ccommodte odd distnces etween vent lengths or connectors. To ccommodte the required length these telescope over ny stndrd length.
