01 Introduction The Business Intelligence & Information Management Symposium 2014 is a two-day conference and Solution Showcase, targeted at senior IT and Business executives. This event, which is being organized for the fourteenth consecutive year, attracted 700 unique attendees last year from the 900 interested subscribers. Considering the continued and increasing interest for Business Intelligence (BI) and Information Management (IM), the presence of our partners and new sponsors, we expect around 1000 interested subscribers and approximately 800 unique attendees this year. With our Event Partners we have been able to organize an even more valuable event for everyone interested or involved in Business Intelligence and Information Management. Focusing on key technologies on the threshold of widespread adoption, the Symposium will offer practical advice on incorporating and implementing these major technologies into current IT strategy. Pragmatically structured around practical content, the event gives delegates the opportunity to put the acquired knowledge directly into practice. The symposium consists of the following components: 1.
