ACCREDITED COURSES CPR UPDATE / RE-ACCREDITATION HLTAID001 PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSICITATION CPR needs to be updated ANNUALLY. Are you up to date? This course provides students with the skills and knowledge required to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. DIY WELDING AND WORKSHOP PRACTICE An introductory course covering basic electric-arc and gas welding and cutting. Material thickness 1mm and 5mm. Introduction to MIG welding, brazing of square tubing (RHS) and mild steel. All welding is done in the flat horizontal position. Includes repairing some broken metal objects from home, and/or farm. Our highly-skilled tutors provide flexible learning options to assist students to achieve their certificate. CHILDREN S CENTRE At Mt Martha Community Children s Centre, we follow the principles of the Victorian Early Years Framework. We do this by working in partnership with parents to provide the children with a stimulating educational program, focusing on developing their ability to communicate effectively with adults and other children and become confident and involved learners. Children are encouraged to contribute to their own learning by having input into the activities and experiences we provide. We encourage children to learn about caring for their environment, other people and animals and promote the natural environment through the experiences we provide and our outdoor spaces. Children are most important and we ensure that we pay attention to them, responding to what they are saying, doing and meeting their needs. The Australian Government provides financial support for this childcare service under the Community Support Program. OCCASIONAL CARE Childcare is available for parents who are working, attending classes offered by MMCLC or require care for their child/children while attending an appointment, studying, shopping, recreation, or any other reason. Regular bookings are available. LOW-COST COUNSELLING Mt Martha Community Learning Centre provides low-cost, confidential counselling services to the general community, on a Tuesday, with a qualified Psychologist, covering all issues including: Relationship Issues Trauma Family Counselling Couple Counselling Stress Anxiety Panic Attacks Depression Drug and Alcohol Problems Grief and Loss Careers Gender Issues. This Service is strictly confidential. VOLUNTEERING We rely on our volunteers to help run our busy enrolment and reception area. If you have an interest in volunteering and would like to share your skills and knowledge, we are keen to hear from you. ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP Mt Martha Community Learning Centre is a not-for-profit incorporated association that draws its membership from the local community. Membership is only $22 per calendar year and this gives you the right to actively participate in the decisions and directions the association may take in providing services to the community. The Rules of Association that govern Mt Martha Community Learning Centre can be seen on our website www.community1.com.au (visit the About Us page). As a not-for-profit group we are reliant on the enthusiasm and active participation of members and volunteers to enable us to provide valuable services to the community of Mount Martha and surrounding suburbs. ADMINISTRATION FEE: In line with similar organisations, Mt Martha Community Learning Centre has an Annual Administration Services fee, to help absorb increased costs. As a not-for-profit organisation we offer our services at the most economical fee possible, but have to cope with increased administration costs. The fee for 2015 is $20 per person. Only one payment is incurred by a person who uses more than one of our services within the year. The fee does not apply to our low-cost counselling services or CGEA. REFUND POLICY: All refunds and transfer requests must be made in writing and received for consideration at least 7 working days prior to course commencement, and will incur a $20 administration fee.
