Connect the network adapter to the socket in the modem marked ETHERNET. Then connect the other end of the network cable to the computer s network port, which will be on the side or the back of your computer. 6. When the connections have been made, the modem will connect and fetch information from Tele2 s network. Normally, this takes about 10 minutes, but in some cases it can take up to 30 minutes. If you would like to configure an E-mail client instead, you can find good instructions and guides on tele2.se/mail for the most common operating systems and E-mail clients. My connection does not work. The Internet connection does not work at all or works now and again. First of all test by disconnecting the power cable from the modem, wait 20 seconds and then reconnect it. If this does not solve the problem, try the following general procedure: 1. Remove the power cable from the modem. 2. Disconnect all equipment, such as computer, router, IP telephony (ATA box), etc. 3. Disconnect the antennae cable at both ends and turn it round (switch the ends of the cable) between modem and wall outlet, and then make sure you screw on it tightly at both ends. 4. Reconnect the cable to the modem. NB! If no light starts to light up on the modem, test the power adapter in another power outlet. 5. Restart your computer equipment and then connect the modem to the computer with the network cable again. 6. In your computer, the network card should be configured with receive an IP address automatically (via DHCP). 7. It can also be worth trying to activate a firewall, for example, in the computer. Incorrect e-mail address and/or password. Check that the e-mail address and password are correct by trying to log in to tele2.se/minwebmail (to do this you need to have already registered an account with tele2.se/mitt-tele2). Cannot connect for e-mail. Check that you are using the correct addresses for the incoming and outgoing servers: Incoming e-mail (POP3): mail.tele2.se Outgoing e-mail (SMTP): mail.tele2.se
8 If you have ordered our maximum speed 100 Mbit/s The 100 Mbit/s service is somewhat more demanding on your equipment to work as intended. For example, having a router or telephony box between the modem and your computer can easily cause a marked reduction in your speed. Especially with wireless it is difficult even to get near to 100 Mbit/s. It also requires a network card which copes with 1 Gbit/s and a network cable of category 5e or 6. PC computers with Windows XP or earlier also have a limitation which can result in the system not receiving sufficient speed in certain cases. This can be solved with a third party program, see tele2.se for more information. Checklist 100 Mbit/s for problems with speed: The computer is connected direct to the modem. The network cable is category 5e or 6. The network card copes with 1 Gbit/s. The computer has Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OSX or Linux as operating system. Also check with another computer to eliminate problems with your normal computer. Tele2 Self-help.
