TAE40110 COURSE OVERVIEW Certificate IV Training and Assessment INTRODUCTION The TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment is the benchmark qualification for workplace trainers and assessors in Australia. QUALIFICATION INFORMATION The TAE40110 Certificate IV Training and Assessment includes the following 10 units of competency. This program is designed for a learning and assessment pathway. TRAINING PROGRAM MODULE 1: Delivering Training 5 days total: 2 consecutive days + 2 consecutive days + 1 assessment day + 1 LLN day Units covered TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate work-based learning BSBCMM401A Make a presentation Module Description What you will learn In this module you will learn how adults learn and how to deliver effective training. You will first be introduced to adult learning theories, principles and styles. Then you will learn how to use this knowledge to effectively plan, organise and facilitate learning for individuals and groups in both classroom and workplace environments. This module includes a range of practical exercises that will help develop your skills and confidence in delivering both individual and group training. How you will be assessed You will complete a range of practical assessment tasks. Some tasks will be completed during training and others must be completed in your own time. Assessment tasks are: Tasks completed during training The practical assessment tasks listed below are to be completed during training. You ll need to set aside some time before the practical assessment day to prepare: DEL ( DELIVERY ) Project 1 Plan, organise and facilitate workplace learning for another TAE participant (learning to be completed in the workplace after the practical observation) DEL Project 2 Plan, organise and deliver a 30-minute training session to a group (session to be delivered on day 5 of this program) Tasks to be completed on your own time, after the conclusion of training: Short answer questions (open book) DEL Project 3 Plan, organise and deliver two consecutive 40-minute group training sessions DEL Project 4 Plan, organise and facilitate learning for an individual in your workplace. MODULE 2: Designing Learning (3 consecutive days) 3 days total: 3 consecutive days. Units covered TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs Module Description What you will learn In this module you will be introduced to Australia s vocational education and training (VET) system, and will learn about the roles and responsibilities of trainers and assessors working for a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). You will also learn how to design and deliver learning programs that reflect principles of adult learning and instructional design, and that meet VET requirements. How you will be assessed You will complete a range of practical assessment tasks. Some tasks will be completed during training and others must be completed in your own time. Assessment tasks are: Tasks completed during training Various practical activities that may be used towards assessment DES ( DESIGN ) Project 1 Design and develop a competency-based learning program. Most of this task will be completed during training time. Time will need to be allocated after the conclusion of training to finalise documentation. Tasks to be completed on your own time, after the conclusion of training: Short answer questions (open book) DES Project 2 Design and develop a second learning program. MODULE 3: Workplace Assessment (3 consecutive days) 3 days total: 3 consecutive days. Units covered TAEASS301B Contribute to assessment TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes TAEASS402B Assess competence TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation. Module Description What you will learn In this module you will learn about assessing in your workplace. You learn about the difference between recognition assessments and training-based assessments. You will learn the principles of quality assessment how to apply these when contributing to an assessment or when planning, conducting and validating competency-based assessments. How you will be assessed You will complete a range of practical assessment tasks. Some tasks will be completed during training and others must be completed in your own time. Assessment tasks are: Tasks completed during training ASS ( ASSESSMENT ) Project 1 Plan assessment and gather evidence. This entire task will be completed during training time ASS Project 3a Participate in assessment validation. To complete this project, you must participate in two assessment validation activities. You will participate in one of these during training time. The second must be completed on your own time after the conclusion of training. Tasks to be completed on your own time, after the conclusion of training: Short answer questions (open book). ASS Project 2 Plan, organise and conduct two competency-based assessments in your workplace. ASS Project 3b Participate in assessment validation. You will need to participate in a second assessment validation. Please be aware that due to upcoming changes to this training package, modules, assessments and units of competency may be changed. Participants will be informed as soon as possible when these changes are released and the program confirmed by Community Child Care Co-operative. Community Child Care Co-operative Ltd. TRAINING PROGRAM SCHEDULE For this program, one group will be offered with the dates of face to face sessions as below. Dates of Training 2015 Module 1: Delivering Training 5 days: 2 + 2 + 1 5 + 6 March AND 12 + 13 March AND 27 March AND 24 April Module 2: Designing Learning 3 days Module 3: Workplace Assessment 3 days 1-3 July 26-28 August Participants are expected to attend all face to face assessment days and complete all activities in between these sessions. A detailed outline of the assessment tasks will be provided at the first face to face session. If at the end of the program participants have completed all the learning and assessment tasks to a satisfactory standard the requirements of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will have been met. Graduation is planned for December 2015. PROGRAM COSTS What are my payment options? The total cost of this course is $4600. Payment must be made in four instalments as follows: Payment 1/4: $600 on receipt of enrolment form (see below for more details) Payment 2/4: $1500 March 2015 Payment 3/4: $1500 June 2015 Payment 4/4: $1000 August 2015 The initial payment (Payment 1/4) will be invoiced to you or nominated payee on acceptance of your enrolment form or payment can be made with the submission of the enrolment form via cheque or Community Child Care Co-operative Ltd. (NSW) November 2014 6/9

credit card. Subsequent payments (Payments 2-4/4) will be invoiced to the payee nominated on the enrolment form. Refunds A full refund of Payment 1/4 will be provided prior to course commencement for cancellations received prior to 5 February 2015. If you cancel between 5 February 2015 and 4 March 2015, a 20% administration fee will be charged. No refund of Payment 1/4 will be provided on or after 5 March 2015 for cancellations or withdrawals. If you cancel or withdrawn from the program after 5 March 2015 (the start date of the course) the following will apply: Cancellation/Withdrawal between 5 March and 23 April 2015 you will be liable for 45% of full course fee ($2025) Cancellation/Withdrawal between 24 April and 1 July 2015 you will be liable for 80% of full course fee ($3600) Cancellation/Withdrawal on or after 26 August 2015 no refunds will be provided. This is available at www.ccccnsw.org.au Assessment The expected completion time through part time study is 9 months. Assessments may be conducted at the Community Child Care Co-operative (NSW) during workshop sessions, through practical work application or any combination of these. As the unit requirements are completed, assessment tasks can be undertaken and when completed, forwarded to Community Child Care Co-operative (NSW) for assessing. Support will be provided at the face to face sessions, as well as via phone and email. Due dates will be provided for all assessments. Extensions to these dates may be provided, after written requests have been received from the participant by CCCC. Course Materials For each unit participants are provided with comprehensive learner and assessment guides as well as reference materials. These are provided as hard copies and/or soft copies. What next? 1. Complete the CCCCNSW enrolment form (available at www.ccccnsw.org.au or as part of this offer of enrolment package) 2. Submit the enrolment form via email to training@ccccnsw.org; fax 8922 6445 or via post (contact details below). 3. FURTHER REQUIREMENTS Location The face to face sessions will take place at Community Child Care Co-operative s Marrickville location (142 Addison Road MARRICKVILLE). The face to face sessions have been grouped together to cater for those travelling from outside Sydney metro areas. Prerequisites There are no prerequisites for this course, however, it is strongly recommended to have a workplace where you can complete your assessment tasks. Computer Skills Basic computer and internet skills and the ability to produce documents in MS Word are all you need to be able to participate in our course. Equipment Hardware and Software To participate in this program you will need: a computer with a broadband internet connection. You will need to submit assessments and communicate via our online submission page, plus conduct further research a printer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) If you feel you have the right skills and experience to gain this qualification, please contact Community Child Care Co-operative to discuss your situation. Trainer/Assessors The trainer and assessor for this course will be Community Child Care Co-operative and all of our trainers and assessors have the required skills, knowledge and qualifications to deliver and assess this qualification. You will be allocated a trainer and assessor whom you will be able to contact on a regular basis, as well as support staff.
