3 DIPLOMA OF MANAGEMENT (BSB51107) This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others or to add value to or review management practices. Their role may be in any industry or organisational setting. Typically people in these roles will have considerable experience in their respective industries or vocational areas and combine an informed perspective of specific work requirements with their managerial approaches. The qualification requires a sound theoretical knowledge base and managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their own work or the work of a team. 4 DIPLOMA OF WORK HEALTH & SAFETY (BSB51315) The Diploma is delivered over 5 face to face workshops followed by on the job activities and assignments. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who coordinate and maintain WHS within an organisation. Students will be able to apply sound theoretical knowledge and use a range of specialised, technical and managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate their workplace safety responsibilities. 6 INTRODUCTORY SAFETY & HEALTH REPRESENTATIVE The Introductory Safety and Health Representative Course is accredited by the Commission for Safety and Heath WA. Consisting of 5 modules, this course prepares the SHR to assist employees and the employer to embrace a proactive, safe and healthy working environment. SHR s may elect to complete on the job activities and assignments after the course which would enable them to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning towards the Certificate III in WHS or alternatively, to upgrade to the Certificate IV in WHS. Safety and Health Representatives will have a sound understanding of the legislative framework, and their role and functions under the WA OSH Act to assist them to work collaboratively with other stakeholders at the workplace. 8 CERTIFICATE IV IN FRONTLINE MANAGEMENT (BSB40812) Certificate IV in Frontline Management is structured over 5 face to face workshops, self-paced study and on the job learning. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who take the first line of management in any industry. They may have existing qualifications and technical skills in any given vocation or profession, yet require skills or recognition in supervisory functions. They would typically report to a manager. At this level frontline managers provide leadership and guidance to others and take responsibility for the effective functioning and performance of the team and work outcomes. 10 COMCARE HEALTH AND SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE This course has been designed to assist Health and Safety Representative s to identify the legislation applicable to workplaces governed by Comcare, and to enable the HSR to work in collaboration with other workers, supervisors, managers and the person in charge of a business undertaking, to encourage effective health and safety practices. Health and Safety Representatives will have a sound understanding of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislative framework and its relationship to the role and functions of a HSR.
