1) T qualify fr the American Red Crss High Schl Leadership Prgram (referred t as Prgram), each student (referred t as Member) is asked t cmplete the fllwing requirements: a. Cmplete an nline prfile at www.redcrssbld.rg/leader t participate in the prgram n r after July 1, 2013. b. Dnate, r present t dnate three (3) times t the American Red Crss. Dnatins must ccur n r after January 1, 2013. At least ne f the three dnatins MUST be made during a critical timeframe. The critical timeframes are defined as June 1 thrugh August 31 r December 15 thrugh January 15. The Red Crss reserves the right t ffer additinal timeframes. The tw additinal dnatins may be made at any time. The prcedure can be a whle bld, duble red cell r apheresis dnatin. Prcedures can be mixed and matched (i.e. ne platelet and tw duble red cell r tw whle bld and ne duble red cell). Platelet and whle bld dnatins are cnsidered 1 unit while a duble red cell dnatin will be cnsidered 2 units All dnatins must be cmpleted at a Red Crss bld cllectin site. This can include Red Crss peratins at high schls, dnr center lcatins r ther cmmunity bld drive lcatins. Dnatins made t ther bld cllectin agencies will nt be cunted tward the requirements fr the Prgram. If a student is ineligible t dnate fr any reasn, they may substitute this requirement by recruiting 5 unique, new dnrs t give bld. All five dnrs must dnate r present t dnate, and must certify that they have dne s. When submitting this achievement, Members must prvide referral s name, date f birth, hme zip cde, dnatin date and dnatin lcatin. Dnrs must be new t the Red Crss (first time dnr) r newly returned after nt having dnated fr at least three (3) calendar years. Dnrs must be unique and may nt cntribute twards this requirement fr mre than ne Member in this Prgram. Dnatins r dnatin attempts must be able t be verified in the Red Crss dnr system f recrd, DRMS. c. Cmplete eight (8) hurs f vlunteer service t the Red Crss Bld Services. Hurs must be certified by a Red Crss Emplyee. If the vlunteer hurs are in cnjunctin with a schl bld drive, hurs may be certified by a schl s bld drive crdinatr (teacher, guidance cunselr, etc ).
When submitting this achievement, Members must prvide the date f vlunteer service, number f hurs vlunteered, lcatin f vlunteer service and the first and last name f their vlunteer supervisr. d. Recruit five (5) unique dnrs t the Red Crss All five dnrs must be in additin t requirement 1b if a Member has cmpleted that requirement. Dnrs may nt duplicate between requirements. All five dnrs must dnate r present t dnate, and must certify that they have dne s. Hst a Red Crss bld drive thrugh the Leaders Save Lives (LSL) Prgram 2) Prgram Rewards Cmplete terms and cnditins apply fr LSL Prgram and can be viewed nline at redcrssbld.rg/leaderssavelives Students must submit a registratin frm t participate in the LSL Prgram Hst a bld drive scheduled between a determined critical timeframe f June 1 thrugh August 31, 2015 r December 15, 2015 thrugh January 15, 2016 The bld drive must achieve 100% f gal Students must submit the bld drive date, lcatin including city, state and zip cde and bld drive gal a. T qualify fr any reward as part f the Prgram, Members MUST create an nline prfile at leader.redcrssbld.rg and submit all achievement activities fr verificatin and apprval. b. Members wh cmplete requirement 1b r 1e) shall receive a Red Crss Red Crd fr use during their high schl graduatin ceremny.
The decisin f whether the crd is allwed t be wrn during the high schl graduatin ceremny is entirely at the discretin f the schl s administratin. If a crd may nt be wrn and the schl s administratin will allw a student t wear a lapel pin, a student may request ne. T request a pin, students must submit a request in writing t HighSchlLeadership@redcrss.rg at least 2 weeks prir t their graduatin ceremny. c. Members wh cmplete requirements 1b) and 1c) r 1b) and 1e) shall receive a Red Crss Red Crd and shall be entered t win a Red Crss Schlarship. Schlarship terms and cnditins apply and are utlined belw. d. Members wh cmplete requirements 1b) and 1c) and 1d) r 1b) and 1c) and 1e) shall receive a Red Crss Red Crd, be entered t win a Red Crss Schlarship and receive a recmmendatin letter frm a Red Crss executive. Recmmendatin letters will be persnalized fr each Member but the addressee will NOT be persnalized (i.e. all letters will be addressed T Whm It May Cncern, nt Dear Specific State University). Members wh qualify will autmatically receive five (5) identical cpies f the recmmendatin letter. If additinal cpies are needed, requests must be made by email t the High Schl Leadership Prgram at HighSchlLeadership@redcrss.rg. All five letters will be sealed fr delivery t the institutin fr which they are intended. The Red Crss will d its best t ensure that all letters are received in time t meet applicatin deadlines, but cannt guarantee delivery by a specific date. If specific timelines are required, the Member can submit thse via email t HighSchlLeadership@redcrss.rg. 3) Red Crss reserves the right t withdraw, amend, discntinue r terminate the Prgram r disqualify a Member at any time fr any reasn withut ntice. This includes, withut limitatin, viding entries f issue and/r terminating the Prgram if the Red Crss suspects tampering has ccurred. All rewards accrued prir t Prgram s terminatin will be eligible fr fulfillment in accrdance with the fficial rules. Red Crss reserves the right t disqualify Members fr vilating Prgram terms and cnditins and fr negligence and/r false reprting. 4) Schlarship Terms & Cnditins a. Eligibility: The High Schl Leadership Schlarship (the Schlarship referred t as Prize ) is pen t all participating members f the Prgram
wh cmpleted the utlined requirements abve. These requirements cnsist f cmpleting three (3) bld dnatins, including ne (1) during the critical timeframes defined as June 1 thrugh August 31 r December 15 thrugh January 15, and cmpleting eight (8) hurs f vlunteer service with a Red Crss Bld Services entity. Or the Member may cmplete three (3) bld dnatins, including ne (1) during the critical timeframes (defined abve) and hst a qualifying LSL bld drive (see cmplete terms and cnditins at redcrssbld.rg/leaderssavelives). Specific criteria fr each achievement as utlined in the Prgram terms and cnditins apply. The schlarship pprtunity is pen t high schl students wh are (a) legal residents f the United States, (b) sixteen (16) years f age r lder, (c) enrlled in their senir year f high schl at an accredited state educatinal institutin in the United States, (d) graduate at the cmpletin f their senir year, (e) cntinue educatin by the subsequent Fall semester fllwing graduatin at an accredited 2-year, 4- year cllege / university r prfessinal trade schl, (f) are enrlled in the Prgram, and (g) have cmpleted the utlined requirements stated abve related t bld dnatins and vlunteer service hurs r LSL bld drive. Emplyees, fficers, directrs and bard f gvernrs f Spnsr, Spnsr distributrs and dealers, and each f such emplyees, fficers directrs, and gvernrs immediate family members and/r thse living in the same husehld (whether legally related r nt) are nt eligible fr the Schlarship. Fr the purpses f this Prgram, immediate family members are defined as spuse, parents, legal guardians, in-laws, grandparents, siblings, children and grandchildren. b. Prize Descriptin: Five (5) $5,000 Schlarships will be awarded acrss the United States t apply twards future educatinal csts. The Schlarship check will be made payable t the higher educatin establishment the student will be attending, nt t the individual. Winner must specify their educatinal establishment by the end f their high schl senir year r the Schlarship will be frfeited. Winner will be required t sign and return a Liability/Publicity Release. Prize cnsists f nly the items specifically listed in these fficial rules and any ther expenses nt specified herein as being awarded are the sle respnsibility f the Winner. Odds f winning depend n the number f eligible entries received. c. Prize Drawing: A randm drawing fr the Schlarship will be cnducted n r abut May 31 n an annual basis. Winners will be ntified by telephne and/r email. Any selected entrant wh cannt be cntacted (r wh fails t respnd t any telephne message r email sent t such selected entrant) within three (3) business days f the first attempt t

Winners will be required t cmplete, sign and return an Affidavit f Eligibility, a Liability Release, and a Publicity Release within seven (7) calendar days f ntificatin. If dcuments are nt returned in a timely manner, r if any prize ntificatin r prize is returned as nndeliverable, r if a Winner is fund t be ineligible r nt in cmpliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be frfeited and awarded t an alternate eligible entrant.
