Candidates should possess an ICT related qualification to A level or equivalent and must have at least 3 years experience in the design, development and support of Virtual Server environments, network management, telephone systems, desktops, provision of security/firewalls. Project management skills and a knowledge of the following technologies is required: VMware 4.0+, EMC San, Windows 2003/08 & Exchange, Cisco Switches, SQL Server 2008, Sharepoint 2010 are also required. Assist in the design, development and implementation of Corporate Infrastructure Systems Be a key and proactive member of the ICT Team participating fully in the development of a team culture and carrying out tasks normally undertaken by other members of the team when necessary. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERSONAL DUTIES 1. Design configure tune install and support Servers and their operating systems. 2. Design configure tune install and support Networks and their operating systems to include building infrastructure local area networks wide area networks radio telephone systems and CCTV. 3. Design configure tune install and support Desktops and their operating systems. 4. Design configure tune install and support security and firewalls to prevent any unauthorised access. 5. Design configure tune install web systems liaising with suppliers as required. 6. Procure systems and negotiate contacts service level agreements acceptance criteria post implementation support and payment profiles.

7. Manage systems contracts liaising with suppliers to obtain advice and support. 8. Project manage major and minor projects to meet objectives and success criteria to ICT standards including testing documentation and acceptance. 9. Manage assistant staff as required ensuring they are trained to meet their full potential. 10. Ensure the Council s requirements are understood at all levels so that Corporate and Departmental systems underpin Services. 11. Prepare and maintain ICT standards so that they are easily understood and practiced. 12. Ensure all work has targets and deliverables to meet these targets. 13. Liaise with internal service departments where works are required for ICT systems. 14. Assist with strategic development and the production of annual development plans. 15. Provide cover for the Customer Service Desk when required. 16. Work extended hours as requested by the Head of ICT/Assistant Chief Executive and to be available to assist with out of hours emergencies. 17. Assist the Head of ICT and ICT colleagues as required. 18. SELECTION CRITERIA Essential 1. ICT related qualification to A level or equivalent 2. Minimum of 3 years experience of: Virtual Servers and Operating systems, including design, configuration, tuning, installation and support Networking and operating systems, including Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Radio and Telephone systems with call-logging and covers design, configuration, tuning, installation and support Desktops, Operating systems and associated equipment, including design, configuration, tuning, installation and support Providing security and firewalls to block any unauthorised access, including design, configuration, tuning, installation and support. 3. Minimum 3 years design, configuration, tuning, installation, and support of Web systems liaising with hosting organisations as appropriate 4. Experience of the following technologies: VMware Vshpere 4.0+/MS windows server 2003, 2008/MS SQL server 2008/MS Sharepoint server 2010/Mitel IP phone system. 5. Experience of: Procurement of ICT systems arranging contract details, Service Level Agreements and Payment profiles, Platform/Server Migrations Dealing with suppliers and obtaining advice and support Project managing the implementation of ICT infrastructure systems including testing, documentation and acceptance Training and passing on skills to assistant staff Understanding Corporate and Departmental requirements so that systems can be set up that underpin their Services Working to ICT standards Working and providing deliverables to agreed targets 6.
