The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) Thank you for considering Carson Australasia for your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification (TAE40110). The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is fast becoming a prerequisite for every individual involved in any form of work based training or assessment. Employers wanting an industry edge are recognising the benefits of having people with this qualification in their workforce to ensure high quality, customised training for their staff. For individual s achieving this nationally recognised qualification, it could open the door to a number of professional careers in addition to that of a workplace training or assessor. Careers such as teaching or tutoring for TAFE, Private Training Organisations or Universities are often attained with this qualification. This qualification also: Can provide credits towards other recognised qualifications. There are ten units of competency necessary to gain this qualification with 7 core and 3 elective units required to achieve the qualification (**see Appendix 1 below for complete list of optional units). The units we have chosen for our course include: TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs - Core TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs - Core TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning - Core TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace - Core TAEASS401B Plan assessment activities and processes - Core TAEASS402B Assess competence - Core TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation - Core TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills - Elective TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction - Elective BSBCMM401A Make a presentation - Elective. Carson Australasia has designed a 6 day interactive, stimulating and enjoyable training program with an optional 2 Day Self-Directed Project Session. Please note the program is complete with the submission of a post-course project, which participants will start working on during the course. Participants will then take home the files for their partly completed project, along with many templates we provide to assist in completing the project. *The option of comprehensive coaching support is available to participants in completing the project. If the project remains incomplete, without approval for extension of the due submission date, we will issue a SOA (Statement of Attainment) for only those units completed during the face-to-face component of the course. All participants 1

will be provided with alternative options to complete the project if needed and we will provide you with as much flexibility as possible to ensure you gain the best outcome for you. Assessment Processes Participants must complete the full TAE40110 Face-to-face program, which constitutes a Participant Workbook, which includes the following: Individual Participant Workbook (completed and assessed by trainer during the course) Individual paperwork (writing a training specification and materials) Individual written question and answer worksheets Individual presentations (x 2) Individual paperwork (writing assessment specifications and materials) And And Group activities (including trialing training and assessment materials) Group question and answer worksheets Individual Post-course projects (see below). The project encompasses the design, development and delivery of an accredited workplace training to cover at least one unit of competence for a target group and provide work-based facilitation for at least 8 participants and trial an assessment instrument *Post-course Project This project holistically addresses those units noted above in the SOA mapping. Participants are required to research, design and write a learning program to cover at least one unit of competence or accredited module. For participants already delivering enterprise accredited modules we will discuss the opportunity to align the project to your organisational requirements The program must be written to cover the entire unit of competence; however the delivery of a minimum of two consecutive sessions within a workplace or simulated environment (with each session at least 40-60 minutes) The project also requires two work-based facilitation programs (with eight (8) individuals) to be undertaken. Participants are expected to document how they have ensured the development of competence through the activities (or opportunities for practice) that will meet several (clusters) or separate performance criteria from the unit of competence 2

Participants will be expected to show how they might modify the training and assessment material to suit the LLN requirements of their expected learner group (learner characteristics). Project materials must be in the form of print-based learning resources (however hand written materials may be accepted). Video/audio recordings and/or other media are welcome as an alternative submission (please speak to us prior to submitting your materials). Participants will have 8 weeks to complete the post-course project. All project documentation is expected to be submitted electronically. During the face-to-face course participants will complete part of the postcourse project with the remainder expected to demonstrate the transfer of learned outcomes. Incomplete Assessments Where a participant does not (or is unable) to complete both the Face-to-face components and Post-course Project components of the assessment required to complete the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Carson will consult with the individual to determine provisions for completion (i.e. reattendance, re-assessment, RPL or other options customised to suit the individual and within our ability to do so). All individuals will be provided options for appeal for final assessments. RPL/RCC As a Registered Training Organisation we offer opportunities for recognition for prior learning (RPL) under our scope of registration. Competencies may be attained in a number of ways including a combination of formal or informal learning and education, work experience or general life experience. Evidence to support competency may take a variety of forms and could include certification, references from past employers, testimonials from clients and work samples. In this process all forms of portfolio or other documentation provided for RPL will be assessed against the rules of evidence to ensure it is valid, reliable, current and sufficient. Our RPL guide provides a detailed list of suitable evidence, including: Formal or informal education and training Experiences in the workplace General life experience, and/or Any combination of the above. Applications for RPL will be discussed with each applicant on an individual basis.
