Curses frm anther cllege, university, r district prgram have t be apprved by submitting syllabi and curse grades t the department chair and/r the c-directr f the Multiple Subject prgram r presenting prf f cmpletin f such curses. Students wh started ther credential prgrams shuld als present a letter frm the directr f the past prgram stating that he r she left the prgram in gd standing. We d nt ffer curses fr the Multiple Subject credential prgram during the summer sessins. Admissin t Graduate Schl: A bachelr s degree must be cmpleted, and yu need t be admitted t the University s Graduate Schl fr either the credential nly, pst-bachelr s degree prgram (minimum f 2.5 r higher gpa n last 60 units) r fr a credential and Master f Educatin degree prgram (requires 3.0 undergraduate gpa n last 60 units). We will review the entire applicatin: the applicatin; statement f intent; three recmmendatins; fficial transcripts. All these materials are submitted t the Office f Research and Graduate Studies. Fingerprint Review and TB Test: Please g t Educatin Rm 108, Credential Office, t get infrmatin n cmpleting the vlunteer fingerprint prcess and fr supplying prf f TB clearance within the past 4 years. There is a cst fr the vlunteer fingerprint prcess. Due t Megan s Law, agencies are nt allwed t share fingerprint results; therefre, we cannt accept fingerprint results frm ther rganizatins. The fingerprint and TB test must be turned in befre Fall Semester (first semester) begins s that yu can register fr EDUC 140 and EDUC 141. Required Examinatins and Requirements fr Califrnia Teaching Credential and Pacific s Prgram: CBEST: Basic Skills: Yu d nt have t have the CBEST taken r passed t apply fr admissin t the Graduate Schl; hwever, please take CBEST either prir t starting in the Fall semester (first semester) r take the first test administratin in Fall semester. It must be taken, and if at pssible, passed by December f the Fall Semester-first semester. There is an ptin t take the CSET writing sectin in place f the CBEST t satisfy the state basic skills requirement.

CSET-Multiple Subjects: Please take CSET-Multiple Subjects either prir t starting in Fall semester (first semester) r take ne r all three sub-tests during the first fall semester. Bth CBEST and CSET-Multiple Subjects examinatins (all three subtests) must be passed by Nvember f the third semester. Bth examinatins must be passed in entirety t be able t student teach r intern (Prfessinal Practice) in the Spring semester (furth semester). Yu will be delayed in student teaching r internship if CBEST and CSET-Multiple Subject examinatins are nt passed. Cmpletin f the United States Cnstitutin Requirement: This state requirement can be cmpleted with prir undergraduate curse in United States/ American Gvernment; tw cnsecutive semesters f United States Histry I and United States Histry II; advanced placement credit fr United States/American Gvernment n ne s undergraduate transcript r verified scre reprt frm Educatinal Testing Service; r cmpletin f an apprved test r curse at a cmmunity cllege r fur year cllege r university. RICA: Take the Reading Instructin Cmpetency Assessment (RICA) examinatin the first available time as yu cmplete Fall semester (third semester), r during Spring semester (furth semester). Yu must pass RICA t be able t apply fr a teaching credential after cmpleting all requirements fr the prgram. Other prgram assessments must be successfully passed during designated times:** Subscriptin thrughut the prgram t TASK STREAM is required. There is a vendr cst fr tw years r yu can pay by semester. This is a mandatry cst. Advancement t Candidacy cmpleted at the end f Fall semester (first semester). There are csts fr State Certificate f Clearance (infrmatin in the Credential Office) and fr Opening a Credential File ($30). CPR, Infant, Child and Adult Certificatin is required prir t Prfessinal Practice (student teaching r internship). Check with the Credential Analyst, Rm 108, fr specific infrmatin. Cntent Area Assessments and Embedded Signature assignments: Assignments in EDUC 140; EDUC 141; EDUC 150, EDUC 153; assignments in EDUC 161 and 163 (EDUC 166) fr their respective semesters. Yu must submit these n Task Stream. Attendance and cmpletin f paperwrk t apply t student teach r intern and STAR Review with the Credential Analyst: During Fall Semester (third semester), prir t student teaching r internship semester, attend this mandatry meeting; cmplete interview with area cperating teachers; cmplete STAR review with the Credential Analyst and meet with the Directr f Field Placement. Student teaching must be dne in the Stcktn area, within a 30 mile radius f the Stcktn campus; Internship must be within a 50 mile radius f the Stcktn campus. The Directr f Field Placement arranges and versees all placements fr student teaching. PACT (Perfrmance Assessment fr Califrnia Teachers) Assessments and the PACT Teaching Event (TE). The TE is mandatry and must be passed during Prfessinal Practice (student teaching r internship), Spring semester (furth semester).

After the credential analyst has cmpleted the recmmendatin, yu must fllw-thrugh with all prcedures n the Califrnia Cmmissin n Teacher Credentialing nline applicatin webpage.
