Submit yur request n "Get NIC Clud " sectin n the hme page using yur Gvernment accunt with dmain Gv.in/Nic.in fr availing clud services. Fr mre details yu may refer t On-Barding Prcedure available n the site. 3. Once the site cntent is ready, the hsting registratin frm can be submitted t NIC MHSC Mumbai. Frm is available at 4. CD cntaining the site cntent as per the prescribed directry structure can be submitted t NIC MHSC Mumbai fr hsting n staging server. 5. Site will be hsted by NIC n staging server and the temprary url will be cmmunicated thrugh mail. 6. After testing the site n staging server. User has t submit the security audit cleared reprt and certificate fr the site t NIC. After receiving clearance by security audit divisin, site will be made nline. 7. Obtaining VPN accunt fr updating the site. 8. Updating site using FTP ver VPN. The prcedure fr web registratin and hsting is explained in detail. Versin Page 1 f 5

Alltment f gv.in is restricted t the cnstituents f Indian Gvernment at varius levels right frm Central, State/UT, District & Sub-District. In additin t nline registratin, the request shuld als be submitted in writing in the frm f an Authrizatin Letter. The letter shuld be in the specified frmat n the letter head f the cncerned department Authrizatin Letter shuld be signed by the Chief Secretary f the State r a Secretary f the State Gvernment as nminated by the Chief Secretary. Fr registratin at District & Sub-District levels, the request shuld cme frm the District Cllectr. As per the present plicy, there is n fee fr the dmain name registratins under GOV.IN. Hwever, if there is any change in the plicy, the Registrar reserves the right t charge the fee fr dmain name registratins/renewals as well as cancel the registratin n accunt f nn payment. The administrative cntact address t be filled in the n-line frm must be same as the address f the cncerned fficer/department f the gvernment. Intermediaries r ISPs are nt allwed t apply n behalf f any gvernment department, fr registratin under this categry. The dmain will be activated and alltted n receipt f the Authrizatin letter and apprval by the GOV.IN Registrar. (Frmat attached in Annexure). Versin Page 2 f 5

Prcedure fr btaining clud accunt User can apply fr clud accunt frm the site and by prviding basic details in 'Get NIC Clud ' windw f this prtal. The fllwing fields are required t be entered fr sign up. Department Name Cntact Persns Name Designatin ("gv.in" r "nic.in" dmains nly) and Mbile Number Once these details are successfully submitted, Applicant will receive an acknwledgement mail immediately n the id prvided. On receipt f mail fr Sign Up, Applicant is required t perfrm fllwing steps: 1. Applicant will receive mail alng with Url/link fr Sign Up. 2. Using abve link applicant can Sign Up using his credentials. 3. On successful Sign Up, Applicant will be presented with Sign Up screen fr keying in the details f fficials respnsible fr Owning and Administratin f Clud Accunt. On submissin f these details Sign Up frm will be generated. A duly signed and stamped cpy f this frm is required t be submitted t NIC fr further prcessing. Once the Applicant's signup frm is received, a service request ID is created fr the user and is mailed t Clud Accunt wner alng with the url link fr the same. User is required t sign in using this link t submit the requirements fr clud services. The catalgue f Clud Service fferings prvide users the ptin t chse frm precnfigured Web, Applicatins and Database Servers with Cmmercial/Open Surce System Sftware r Basic Servers and Strage. Each VM wuld be created with minimum f 60GB strage. The OS and ther sftware prvided with precnfigured VMs are as fllws: OS Linux RHEL alng with MySQL and PstgreSQL OS Windws with SQL Express Editin Versin Page 3 f 5

Web Hsting services are ffered n Linux & Windws Platfrms and the servers are pwered with the state-f-the-art web technlgies such as CGI, Perl, PHP, ASP,ASP.NET, MS Frnt Page, JSP, and Servlet etc.. All ppular Databases like MS SQL, MySQL & PstgreSQL are als supprted. 1) Hsting Registratin frm is available at 2) Hsting f cntent n Staging Server The site has t be first tested n staging Server befre launching it n Prductin Server. URL will be cmmunicated thrugh . Once the site is tested successfully n Staging Server, it has t underg a mandatry security audit befre it is hsted n the prductin server. D. Directry structure fr cntent creatin (windws platfrm) Applicatin t be checked n IIS with parent directry disabled. All html pages t be put under /htmldcs All script files under /scripts All picture files under /images. Besides these directries yu can have yur wn directries als. There shuld be nly ne file utside these directries which is the main page f the site. This directry structure is essential fr security audit clearance. 1. Security Audit The Security auditing is mandatry befre making the site nline. Third party audit (if any) has t be dne n NIC staging area and audit reprt shuld be submitted t Cyber Security Grup. VPN client Sftware 4. FTP accunt fr Web page 5. Database Updatin Fr nline submissin f VPN, the prcedure is available n the website The applicatin has t be filled by the persn respnsible fr Web updatin f the site, signed by recmmending / authrizing fficer and verified by NIC crdinatr. Once the Applicatin frm is verified, the user will be infrmed abut the VPN accunt details in his accunt given in the Applicatin frm. Web page updatin using the ftp accunt and passwrd given by Web Divisin can be dne frm a remte lcatin after establishing VPN cnnectin using VPN ID and passwrd. T test whether the ftp prt fr yur site is pen, d ftp t the site after establishing VPN cnnectin. Database Updatin is dne using SQL Client with SQL User-ID/Passwrd alltted by Web divisin after establishing VPN cnnectin using VPN ID and passwrd. Versin Page 5 f 5
