2 1 - Glssary Level 1 intrduced three distinct learning paths which all cnverge when discussing telepresence slutins. They are Plycm terminlgy fr features and functins, technical netwrk terminlgy which is used t detail hw thse features and functins wrk, and als the actual slutins themselves. We will develp each f these three paths further thrugh each training level, but first we will recap the key pints cvered s far which specifically apply t resurce management and take a lk at what is cming up. 3 2 Features As discussed in Level 1, RealPresence Web Suite is a sftware slutin which runs n custmer-supplied virtual servers t prvide brwser-based enterprise grade vide cllabratin. What was nt discussed hwever was hw that is achieved, and it is this we will lk at in mre depth here. RealPresence Platfrm integratin Implementatin f RealPresence Web Suite requires several RealPresence Platfrm cmpnents t be in place. RealPresence Distributed Media Applicatin (DMA) and RealPresence Access Directr are mandatry t prvide the virtual meeting rms needed fr ad-hc and scheduled cnferencing. RealPresence Cllabratin Server Virtual Editin is nt mandatry but withut it custmers will nt be able t ffer multiparty cnferencing with RealPresence Web Suite at all, and RealPresence Web Suite Pr ffers WebRTC cnnectivity fr up t three participants. Likewise, RealPresence Resurce Manager is nt mandatry, but where the custmer is utilizing any kind f mbile r desktp cnferencing slutin the prvisining capabilities f RealPresence Resurce Manager may well influence this decisin in a green field site, thugh it des nt affect the implementatin f RealPresence Web Suite. RealPresence Web Suite Sftware When rdering RealPresence Web Suite r RealPresence Web Suite Pr, the base prduct cde includes licensing fr up t 50 cncurrent web participant sessins, and the sftware fr the three mdules: Experiences Prtal serves up the In-Meeting page t the web client. It als facilitates in-meeting chat, rster, chairpersn cntrls, dcument attach, real-time shared cntent anntatin and whitebard functins Services Prtal handles Pre-Meeting scheduling tasks, including the creatin f adhc & scheduled Meetings and meeting management Standards Cnnectr allws the cntent shwn via the Web Client t be accessed and viewed by nn-web based vide endpints such as RealPresence Mbile and RealPresence Grup Series. Up t 10 standard cnnectins can be supprted by ne Standards Cnnectr, thugh mre than ne instance can be used if necessary Supprted bandwidths, vide frmats and reslutins are as fllws: Sftware Keys Bandwidth Vide Frmat Reslutins 64 kbps kbps QVGA 320x kbps kbps VGA 640x kbps kbps HD 720p (30fps) 1280x720 As mentined in Level 1, a sftware key is used t unlck extra features shuld they be required by the custmer. 4 3 - Web Client Requirements At the time f writing, sme capabilities available within RealPresence Web Suite are cmpatible with different brwsers: RealPresence Web Suite Web Client fr vide, audi and multi-dcument cntent sharing is cmpatible with: Internet Explrer 10 r later Firefx 14 r later Chrme 11 r later (Windws nly) Chrme n Andrid 4.1 and later Safari r later (Mac nly) Safari n iphne 4s Safari n ios 8 devices: ipad, ipad Air2, iphne 5c, 5s, 6, 6 Plus When using Web Suite Pr and WebRTC, currently nly Chrme can supprt vide and audi with n plug-in, thugh a plug-in (fund in the Chrme Web Stre) is required fr cntent sharing. 5 4 - Hardware and Netwrk Requirements Prir t implementatin the fllwing requirements must be in place: RealPresence Platfrm implementatin (as detailed abve) Three virtual servers (ne fr the Services Prtal, ne fr the Experiences Prtal and ne fr the Standards Cnnectr) using either VMware vsphere 5.5, 5.0 r 5.1 r Windws Hyper-V Server 2012 & Hyper-V 2012 R2 LDAP (ptinal) t allw integratin int Micrsft Active Directry r similar Simple Mail Transfer Prtcl (SMTP) server t enable the Services Prtal t deliver meeting invites and ther ntificatins Reverse Prxy Server a reverse prxy appears like an rdinary web server; the client makes a request fr cntent and the reverse prxy decides where t send the request, returning the cntent as if it is the rigin.
