1 Regency Place Elementary School s Sixteenth Annual LION STAMPEDE May 4, 2018
2 2 Dear Regency Place Families It s hard to believe that this is the 16 th annual Lion Stampede! (That s a lot of fit families running over the years!) While we continue to build on the success of past Stampedes, PTO s goal remains the same: provide a single fundraising school wide event that involves the entire school, community, and provides economical family entertainment. The PTO fundraising committee has worked throughout the year to put on this event. SPECIAL THANKS TO THEM! Chairperson Beth Riekeman and TEAM worked TIRELESSLY! Regency Place thanks our corporate sponsors: Adam Butler Team AmCap Home Loans Arvest Bank Country Financial Creative Carnivals and Events Crescendo Conservatory Dunman, Keller Williams Realty Elite Martial Arts First National Bank Francis Family Foundation G Lavezzi Sculpture HCA Midwest Health HighPointe Financial Group Ignite Your Game Kumon Of Olathe Lifetouch Nottingham Health & Rehabilitation Olathe T-Shirt Pure Workplace Solutions Rhoades Dental Smoothie King St. Anthony s Hospital YogaFit Every Regency Place Family has contributed to the event in some way. Thanks for your donations and participation throughout the year with our various Stampede events: Peppermint Stick Challenge, Jug Challenge, Chipotle Night, Gum Day, and Pledge Packets. We appreciate you all! What a team! Did you know that funds earned through the Stampede stay right here at Regency Place? Through parent/community input, we know that enhancing our Genius Lab (STEM classroom) and adding a walking trail around the playground are 2018 spending priorities in addition to continuing field trips, online subscriptions, and funding grade level projects. Students, teachers, and parents ALL have input as to how funds are spent. We ve been excited with how funds have enhanced our school programming in years past. RP relies on PTO fundraising to support activities and projects that were previously covered by the school budget. So, be sure to join us on 5/4/2018! Celebrate public education and your neighborhood school. We re glad you chose Regency Place Take Risks, Take Action, Take Pride! Greg E. Oborny, Principal (See you at the Finish Line!)
3 3 Regency Place Families Welcome to the 16 th Annual Lion Stampede! Whether this is your first year in the Regency Place family or you re pushing double digit Stampede attendance years, I hope you enjoy this evening of community and fun. Regency Place families are a special breed. Countless hours and resources were offered up to make this event possible. The funds raised this year will allow PTO to continue to pay for fieldtrips and instructional materials for our students. The targeted Genius Lab and walking trail special projects will be enjoyed by students for years to come. I joined the Regency Place community in The neighboring areas, public schools, and City of Olathe have had major changes in the past almost decade. But our elementary school has retained its sense of community, high-standards, and fun. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Every RP family and staff member stepped up to make this evening possible. Bringing in those 2L bottles of soda and signing up to volunteer this evening is what makes this event a success year after year. The committee went above and beyond this year planning a great night of family fun. A special thank you goes out to our generous corporate sponsors. Their sponsorships cover the costs of t-shirts and games; allowing pledge money and ticket sales to go directly to the aid of our students. In-kind donations of raffle items, prizes, food and snacks provide all those little extras to make the evening unique. When you encounter alums from RP, they frequently ask about Lion Stampede. This event remains a favorite for students and families for years after they age beyond elementary school. I hope this year s event will continue to solidify this tradition. Every person at this school helped make this evening happen. Our school community is a source of pride and it shows in everyone taking the effort to give their energy, funds and precious time to make this evening possible. License to Roar! Beth Riekeman, Lion Stampede Chairperson
