1 Parent Information Mason Marching Band Car Wash Fundraiser Saturday, May 16 th from 10 4 Ready to get your car spruced up for summer? That s right it is time for our annual carwash. There are volunteer opportunities posted on Charms. Please sign up for one of the three shifts of parent supervisors at eight locations around Mason. The shifts are: 9:15 11:30 - Pick up supplies in the Booster Room at the High School, drive to the location, set up and supervise the car wash 11:15 2:15 - Supervise the car wash 2:00-4:15 - Supervise the car wash, return supplies to the Booster Room at the High School and take rags home to wash. Rag drop off times will be Monday and Wednesday the following week from 5 to 7 in the Booster Room. Things everyone needs to know about the car wash: The car wash takes place rain or shine! If your student cannot attend the car wash on May 16 th, they need to contact their director as soon as possible. Students who cannot attend are still expected to collect pledges. Student sign up sheets are located in the band room at both the High School and the Middle School. Please sign up by May 8 th or you will be assigned a shift. We are representing the band and the school so a dress code will be enforced. No bikini or halter tops please! Gentlemen should wear a shirt. Students should bring bottled water, snacks and sunscreen. Supplies will be provided at each location but extra towels and sponges are GREATLY appreciated. Parents, friends and neighbors should come by for a FREE car wash our goal is 250 cars! Tips are appreciated, but students should never try to impose it on anyone. Students ask for pledges from sponsors prior to the event and turn them in by May 29 th. Make sure the student s name is on the sponsor sheet to get proper credit. Now for the good stuff PRIZES!!!!!!!! Every student who collects the $125 minimum donation goal will receive one entry into a drawing to win a full refund of their 2015/2016 school marching band fees. For every $25 in additional donations, you will receive an additional ticket in the drawing. As an example, collect $250 in pledges and receive 6 entries into the drawing.

2 The more we collect, the more prizes we will award. For every $8,000 in total donations, we will draw for one school fee waiver. If we collect $24,000, three students will get a fee waiver. The drawing will be held during band camp in August. Please direct any questions to Susan Hathaway at masonbandmom@gmail.com or Nancy Sones at nancysones47@gmail.com Thank you for supporting the William Mason Marching Band and Guard! Student Information Mason Marching Band Car Wash Fundraiser Saturday, May 16 th from 10 4 Sign-up sheets will be placed in the High School and Middle School band rooms. The car wash will take place rain or shine. All marching band/guard students are required to participate including current 8 th graders who will be new 2015/2016 marchers and guard members. How does it work? Each student gets sponsors to commit their support through pledges for the number of cars washed. We count the total number of cars that the entire group washes. This is promoted as a FREE car wash to the public. We do not charge the drivers for the cars we wash but tips/donations are appreciated. Contact grandparents, friends and neighbors and ask them to sponsor you for every car washed up to 250 cars. All locations are staffed with marching band students and supervised by parents. In order to raise $125 (your 2015 goal), you can get 25 sponsors at 2 cents per car or 10 sponsors at 5 cents per car or 5 sponsors at 10 cents per car. What should I tell my donors? You are a member of the William Mason Marching Band and Guard. We will collect for a maximum of 250 cars. Time, date and location so they can stop by for a free car wash. You will be back to collect donations after the car wash. Donations are due by Friday, May 29th. Complete the sponsor form for each pledge and keep the sheet for collection after the car wash. Collecting your funds: Contact each sponsor with the amount due for their sponsorship. Checks are made payable to Mason City Schools. Once your money is all collected, please put it with your sponsor form in a sealed envelope with your name on it and turn it into your director by Friday, May 29 th. If you meet your $125 goal, you could win a refund of your 2015/2016 school band fees! See Parent Page for details. Logistics: The sign up sheets are in the band rooms at both the High School and Middle School so you can sign up with your friends.

3 Shifts are 10 12, 12 2 and 2 4. Locations are Marion s Pizza, Discount Drug Mart, LaRosa s, Culver s, Wendy s at Arbor Square, Hope Church, Heritage Presbyterian and Christ s Church in Mason. Please remember your shift and location. Thanks for collecting sponsors and washing cars!!!!
