1 APPENDIX 1 POSITION DESCRIPTION Employee: Manager: Position: Level 5-6) Location: Reports to: Purpose: Principal/ Senior Asset Management Engineer (Career Progression Manukau, New Zealand Group Manager Asset Management To be an active member of the Asset Management Group (AMG) and the Auckland South Business Group. To assist the AMG in project delivery of asset management tasks, providing a variety of roading asset management services, ensuring that projects are delivered to a satisfactory technical level, on time and to both the clients and our budget. To assist the Group Manager Asset Management to undertake marketing and business development initiatives to ensure both a balanced workload for the team, and ongoing professional development. To assist in actively marketing asset management services, network modelling, and other related data services to clients within the Opus Consultants Northern Region, nationally, and internationally, acting in the capacity of providing assistance to the AMG, and others as required. To provide consultancy services to clients in the area of asset management, including analysis of road condition/maintenance and performance data, pavement deterioration modelling, asset valuation, pavement design and network whole of life strategic planning. There is scope in this position to provide asset management services to other work groups, and not restricted to only roading.

To overview and make certain measures are in place to ensure the Group s work is delivered to the required standard, within the required timeframes, and in a way that meets or exceeds client expectations. To ensure the Group s equipment, software and work environment is maintained and fit for purpose. To ensure the operational procedures expressed within OpusWay and the Local Operating Procedures are adhered to. Provision of expert advice on the Road Assessment and Maintenance Management (RAMM) System, data analysis, pavement deterioration modelling, pavement criteria analysis, network modelling, asset valuation and other related services to internal and external clients. Provide input and support to national roading research/marketing initiatives. Help develop systems and processes to support a one-stop shop RAMM service for the Auckland Region and the wider Opus organisation. This includes use of smart technology tools and systems to improve data quality and integrity as well as economic efficiency. Key Responsibility Area Commercial Management Financial Management Manage assigned projects financial performance to ensure project profitability is achieved. This will include: Monitoring of project profitability, providing guidance to technical staff of any corrective action required Monthly monitoring of final forecast cost to complete Managing cash through the timely billing and collection of receivables Tracking of future workload and the associated resources to deliver the revenue Commercial Controls Ensure the appropriate commercial controls exist for projects including: Appointment of appropriate personnel to manage projects Preparation of robust project estimates, and concise tasking of activities for all projects Assessment of risk and management of identified risks Control of scope changes, claims for variations and timely monthly billing. 5 Person Specification 2. Experience Ideally at least five years professional experience in a senior role in either a relevant consulting or Local Authority environment. The length of time will be considered with respect to the relevance of previous positions with this role. Experience in contract management in New Zealand conditions Experience in the role of the Engineer to the Contract for works under NZS 3910 Conditions of Contract and/or ACENZ/IPENZ Conditions of Contract for Consultancy Services (CCCS). Worked in a high performing team environment with an understanding on how to keep this continuing. Has relational database knowledge in an SQL server environment. The ideal candidate would have a detailed knowledge for the structure of RAMM. Have a proven track record and be able to demonstrate the ability to successfully create, and execute SQL scripts. Hands on experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), such as ArcGIS. Particularly in the application of Asset Management. In arriving at the solution to solve a complex problem, using a combination of systems/packages to achieve this. Proficiency in the following software packages is preferred: Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access CAD VBA RAMM dtims ArcGIS Management of large datasets and can demonstrate data management skills to improve data reliability and integrity. An output of this could have been a data improvement plan. It also includes analysis and trend reporting for higher level reporting. 3.
