Komen is unique in its mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. Thanks to local companies like yours, Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma has reached our 21 st anniversary. Serving 47 counties in Central and Western Oklahoma, our Affiliate has raised over $10 million to support breast health education, breast cancer screening, diagnostic testing, supportive care programs, wellness-oriented activities and research. Nationally, Komen is the world s largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. Why Our Work is Important:» Oklahoma is tied eighth highest breast cancer death rate in the country.» Every week, more than 53 Oklahoma women are diagnosed with breast cancer.» in Oklahoma an estimated 520 women will die from the disease this year - a wife, a sister, a mother, a daughter, a friend. Our Local Impact: Susan G. Komen Central and Western Oklahoma has accomplished a lot in our 22 years of helping our community. We have:» Provided more than 243,200 pieces of educational materials.» Helped provide more than 14,500 clinical breast exams (that s nearly two a day!).» Helped provide 17,953 mammograms to uninsured or underinsured women (more than two mammograms a day!).

3 2015 GRANTS Service Area UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER: Prevention, Education, & Rehab for Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema, Balance & Shoulder Dysfunction By introducing rehab services at the time of cancer diagnosis and minimizing financial barriers, this project promotes early detection of three common breast cancer side-effects that can restrict function and quality of life lymphedema, shoulder dysfunction, and chemoneuropathy imbalance. These services will be extended to the medically underserved and empower survivors to recognize early side-effects and rehab options available. MERCY HEALTH CENTER: Project Early Detection The purpose of Project Early Detection is to provide breast health services to women of any age, race or ethnicity that is medically underserved and/or economically challenged. The services provided will include screening mammograms and diagnostic testing as well as appropriate treatment referral if a cancer is detected. OKLAHOMA PROJECT WOMAN: Central and Western Oklahoma Oklahoma Project Woman, Inc. (OPW) is a statewide program providing access to free mammograms, diagnostic procedures and surgical services for women with no health insurance and limited financial resources. Oklahoma Project Woman serves women and men of all ages, with a primary focus on women 40 years and older, who possess income levels that are no more than 185% of the poverty level. These women are not eligible for Medicare or Medicaid. Investment 75% 25% Portion of the proceeds raised by Komen Central and Western Oklahoma funding local grant programs. Komen is the largest non-governmental funder of breast cancer research with the goal of answering the most urgent questions in the fight against breast cancer; what causes breast cancer, how can it be cured and ultimately, how can it be prevented? With survivors and activists in more than 120 cities and communities across the globe and more than 100 Komen events in the United States and internationally, Susan G. Komen is the most progressive grassroots organization in fighting breast cancer today. Third Party Fundraising: Organize a fun event to help raise money for our Komen Central and Western Oklahoma. There are a number of ways to do this: Susan G. Komen Passionately Pink : From Pink days in the office to bake sales, from dog washes to car washed, from exciting dinner parties to silent auctions, Passionately Pink makes your fundraiser stronger by providing promotional and educational materials at no cost or obligation. Ways to Get Involved: Corporate Contribution: Make a non-specified charitable donation to Komen Central and Western Oklahoma and we will put your gift to work in our community helping breast cancer patients and globally funding breast cancer research. Race for the Cure Sponsorship: Provide financial support to help underwrite our Susan G. Komen Oklahoma City Race for the Cure expenses. In-Kind Support: Provide goods and services to our Affiliate or the Komen Oklahoma City Race for the Cure. Participating in the Race has many benefits. First and foremost, it is a great way to spend time with your colleagues to help raise funds for breast cancer services in our community. Secondly, you will receive high visibility, build brand equity or corporate identity and generate goodwill within your community. Teams are a vital force in the Race and are consistently the top fundraisers. Rally for the Cure : Rally for the Cure is a grassroots awareness program that educates people about breast health through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events.
