3 Key Responsibilities Key Result Area Key Accountabilities Data Governance Assist in the refinement and maintenance of s Data Governance Framework and associated policies and procedures Drive the implementation of AV s Data Governance strategy Identify areas of non compliance in collaboration with divisions develop strategies to address discrepancies Provide reports to key stakeholders regarding Data Governance activities, compliance and related issues as required Provide input to AV s data model Process and Compliance Develop standard processes (including requesting, sharing, defining, producing and using data) to ensure clear and controlled engagement with internal and external customers for data analysis and reporting Customer Service, Communication & Advice Provide a leadership and education role in building AV s data governance processes and driving compliance through membership of the AV Data Review Committee In conjunction with divisional managers from across the organisation and the Information and Technology division, develop AV-wide data governance processes and policies, standardising data naming, establishing consistent data definitions, and monitoring/auditing to ensure overall enterprise data quality Provide guidance and direction to support the implementation of a range of Data Governance projects Regularly monitor and assess Data Governance compliance across all Divisions and provide constructive advice and support to address any deficits. Ensure current knowledge of Government Policy regarding Data Governance Ensure Data Governance systems, process and policies are deliverable within s budget constraints Guide and support divisions across regarding compliance with s Data Governance Framework Provide the first point of contact for internal and external requests and Data Governance queries Coach and mentor staff in the provision of advice and recommendations relating to Data Governance Participate in scoping of new information technology systems or processes to ensure parameters incorporate Data Governance Framework Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders Date of Issue: June 2012 Position Number: Page 3 of 5

4 Selection Criteria Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications (preferably at post graduate level) in a relevant discipline Extensive experience in preparing complex plans and reports for executive management Documented experience implementing effective data policies, processes and procedures with the context of a enterprise data management system and / or governance framework within a large and complex organisation Solid understanding of theories, principles, processes, practices and tools relating to data quality and governance Sound experience in Data Governance and government policy application Knowledge of key database concepts, data models, relationships between different types of data High level of proficiency in relevant software applications, such as business intelligence tools and Microsoft Office suite Key Skills & Attributes Strong written and verbal communication skills to enable concise and clear interaction with a broad range of people at all levels both internally and externally Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to gain the acceptance of ideas, cooperation of others, and the ability to modify styles and techniques to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills to enable the identification of issues and the judgement to determine appropriate courses of action for achieving long-range organisational goals Well developed planning and organising skills to effectively establish priority and scheduling of work tasks and projects, and track and manage status and dependencies across multiple strategic initiatives Outstanding customer service orientation to take responsibility for understanding client needs and ensuring these are met, including the ability to translate, challenge and manage customer requests Desirable Experience in a Data Governance role within an operationally focussed organisation Date of Issue: June 2012 Position Number: Page 4 of 5
