5 Conference Objectives: At the conclusion of this conference, the participant should be able to: 1) Describe the UNM HSC project and how it has successfully incorporated basic oral health practices into existing medical clinics. 2) Recall the history of preventive dentistry and how to integrate dental care into health systems. 3) Recognize common dental issues that present to medical clinics, such as head and neck exams including dental screenings, dental emergencies and meth mouth. 4) Describe the relationship between oral health and overall health including pregnancy, diabetes, heart disease and more.
