INTRODUCTION The National Board of Examinations (NBE) was established in 1975 by the Government of India with the prime objective of improving the quality of the Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all India basis. NBE conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved disciplines leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board. The Medical Council of India has laid down standards for postgraduate examinations these institutions, leading to lack of uniform and acceptable benchmarks for The setting up of a National Body to conduct postgraduate medical examination and training has provided common standards and mechanism of evaluation the objectives for which postgraduate courses has been started in medical institutions. Moreover, intra country and international comparison is facilitated with the availability of commonly accepted evaluation mechanism like the India basis on standardized format and multiple assessment tools are used for assessing the candidate. POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM IN SUB-SPECIALITIES concerned specialty are eligible for fellowship programme. Selection to the fellowship programme is based on an entrance test and admission to the courses will be through centralised merit based counseling. The trainee will go through a structured training programme, maintain a performance record book and undergo an examination at the end of the training. Candidates will be awarded Fellow of National Board of Examinations at the annual convocation of NBE. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in the examination, the results/candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and/or are deemed to be cancelled. 2.9 Instructions in the information-bulletin are liable to changes based on decisions taken by NBE from time to time NBE reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the FET even though the admit card/roll number has been issued or name/roll number is displayed on NBE website. 16 2.21 Candidates should ensure before applying for the FET that the Medical Council of India recognizes their MBBS and MD/MS/DM/ MCh degree. If it is found at any time that MCI does not recognize the Degree then NBE reserves the right to cancel the candidature/registration of the candidate Terms & Conditions of the Fellowship Entrance Test 2016 as mentioned in the English version shall apply Admission to the post doctoral fellowship FNB course shall be done only through Centralized counseling conducted by National Board of Examination as per prescribed guidelines. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 3.1 (A) Candidates who are in possession of Post Graduate Medical Degree/ in the eligible* specialties, provided that duration of training of Post Graduate/Post Doctoral course is 36 months at the time of issuance apply for FET Admission Session in the eligible* specialties may apply for FET Admission Session. as per provision of IMC Act. 3.3 Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of FET will not be permitted to appear in the examination. DECLARATION OF RESULTS : 9.1 QUALIFYING CRITERIA Candidates who obtain minimum 50% marks shall be declared as in FET VALIDITY OF FET RESULT The validity of the result of the FET 2016 shall be only for the current admission session i.e admission session only and cannot be carried forward for the next session of FET.
