Medical University U.P., Lucknow Information Brochure K.G. Medical University U.P., Lucknow shall be conducting the Competitive Entrance Examination for selecting Candidates for admission to M.Phil (Clinical Psychology) Course in Department of Psychiatry, K.G. Medical University U.P., Lucknow for the year The candidate must be an Indian National. Maximum numbers of seats are 4 (General- 03, Other backwards class - 01) as per university guidelines Minimum educational requirement for admission to this course will be M.A./M.Sc. degree in Psychology / Clinical Psychology or equivalent from a university/deemed university recognized by the UGC with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST/OBC category, minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is essential. Candidates who have appeared in their final qualifying examination and the result is awaited, can apply. They may appear in the written examination but they will have to present passing out certificate at the time of interview. The application forms can be downloaded from the website and to be submitted along with processing fee of Rs. 1500/- (DD drawn in favour of Controller of Examination, KG Medical University, U.P. payable at Lucknow in person/post to the Controller of Examination, PHI Building, Pariksha Bhawan, KG Medical University, U.P., Chowk, Lucknow, U.P The application form complete in all respect should reach up to 28 th february, 2013 (Incomplete forms and the forms received after the due date shall be rejected) Candidates, who are employed, must submit their applications through proper channel. In case the candidate is selected for the course, he shall be given admission only if he/ she have obtained the permission from his/her employer and the prior sanction of study leave for the entire duration of the M.Phil Course. The candidate should himself make sure about his eligibility for the course and carefully fill up the application form.

2 No letter of acknowledgment of the receipt of application shall be sent to the candidates. The processing fee once received shall neither be refunded nor adjusted for subsequent examination, if the application form is rejected. The application form should have the following enclosures: Three passport size coloured photographs with white background (sharp, full front face, without cap/hat or dark glasses) self attested (to be affixed at the requisite places in the application form). Attested Photocopies of (a). Highschool certificate as an age proof (b). Qualifying examination degree/certificate. The candidate who have appeared in their final of Qualifying examination and the result is awaited should submit a proof of the same by the Head of the institution/head of the department. Examination- The written examination for admission in M.Phil Course shall be held on 12 th March 2013, between 2-3:30 PM, in the Examination hall, Administrative Block of KG Medical University U.P., Lucknow The written examination shall consist of 70 Objective/Multiple Choice type questions. The candidates will get 1.30 hours to complete the full paper. The question paper shall consist of wide range of topics of Psychology. There shall be no negative marking. Candidates 4 times the number of seats shall be called for interview from the merit list prepared. In case of tie of marks, all candidates with same merit will be called for interview. Candidate will have to produce original copy of the following documents for verification prior to the interview at the office of the Vice Chancellor, KG. Medical University U.P.: High School/Matriculation certificate Qualifying examination mark sheet / passing out certificate Employer's relieving certificate (if employed) Interview shall start at 10:00 AM on 23 rd March at committee room, PHI building, KG Medical University, Lucknow. Candidate shall be required to produce original mark sheets and other testimonials at the time of interview.

3 The final merit list will be prepared by adding marks obtained in the qualifying examination, in Theory and Interview. In case of tie the preference will be given in following order Higher marks obtained in Theory Higher age The candidates shall himself arrange for his boarding and lodging during his stay at Lucknow for the said examination. No T.A./D.A. shall be permissible for appearing in this examination. (xvi) Admission: The selection shall be done by merit list made on the basis of M.Phil (Clinical Psychology) Entrance Examination-2013 The candidate, who has qualified for the admission to the M.Phil (Clinical Psychology) course, shall deposit the prescribed fee on the date notified for that purpose by the University. Those who fail to do so will lose their claim for admission to the course. Candidates shall join the course within the specified period. Important In case of any legal dispute the jurisdiction will be Lucknow Courts and Judicature of Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench only. The rules and regulations laid down can be reviewed by the University from time to time. Controller of Examinations

4 Instructions for Candidates Candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall only on production of Admit Card. Candidates are required to be present at the examination center 20 minutes before the commencement of the examination and to be seated 10 minutes before the time of examination. No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination center 15 minutes after the seating time. Candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall only after completion of examination. Candidates shall sign the attendance sheet when directed to do so by the invigilators. Candidates shall not be allowed to carry any textual material, printed or written matter or bits of paper or any other material except the admit card inside the examination hall. Pagers, cellular phones and gadgets of any kind are strictly prohibited in the examination hall and shall be treated as use of Unfair means. Candidates are advised not to bring these to the Examination Hall as there is no provision for safe keeping. Candidates shall observe strict silence and attend to their paper. Any disturbance in the examination shall be deemed as misbehavior and the defaulting candidate shall forefeit the right to continue in the examination hall. The decision of the Chief Invigilator shall be final. Candidates shall enter the roll number on the top of the question booklet and the response sheet and no where else. Rough work, if any, may be done on the question booklet and not on the response sheet.

5 The question booklet along-with the response sheet will have to be deposited with the Invigilator of the examination hall after the completion of examination. No candidate should leave his/her seat in the examination hall without the permission of the Invigilator until he/she finally submits the question booklet and response sheet to the invigilator. No candidate shall copy from the paper of any other candidate or permit his/her own papers to be copied or attempt to give or attempt to obtain irregular assistance of any description. USE BALL PEN ONLY (BLUE OR BLACK) Candidate should ensure that the question booklet provided to him contains all the pages intact within 10 minutes of commencement of examination. Failure to maintain the discipline and to observe these instructions at the time of examination/interview/admission shall disqualify the candidate from taking the present examination/interview/admission and also from subsequent examinations.
