1 Guidance fr Frm B2 Wrk Permit Grant Business Staffing Plan Use this frm: When yu wish t apply fr the grant f a Wrk Permit by the Business Staffing Plan Bard Submissin requirements: In submitting this frm yu shuld enclse the fllwing (where applicable): Applicatins All Applicatins and supprting frms t the applicatin shuld be printed n regular size, plain, white paper and duly cmpleted. Clured paper, stck card, letterhead, r parchment/transfer papers are all unacceptable. All frms shuld be submitted in the crrect frmat which includes the title pages and immigratin lgs. Frms shuld be in the crrect page number rder and there shuld be n missing page Plice Clearance Certificate A certified and signed plice clearance certificate with respect t the prspective emplyee and their dependent spuse, if applicable, frm their hme district r last place f residence and issued within six mnths preceding the date f applicatin. Fees At the time f applicatin the fllwing fees must be paid: nn-refundable administrative filing fee wrk permit grant fee fr the apprpriate emplyment categry dependant fee repatriatin fee fr prspective emplyee and each dependant, if any Phtgraphs One full-face and ne prfile phtgraph (passprt size) Print name and date f birth n the back f the phtgraph. The phtgraph must be in clur and taken within the past 12 mnths, full face (shulders and abve), with n head cvering. The phtgraph must a have a white backgrund. The phtgraph size shuld be between 45mm by 35mm (1.77 inches by 1.38 inches) and 63mm by 50mm (2.5 inches by 2 inches). The phtgraph shuld be un-munted and printed n nrmal phtgraphic paper.

2 The phtgraph reslutin must be at least 800 dts per square inch. Blurred phtgraphs will nt be accepted. Stick-n labels will nt be accepted. Cuban Natinal Please prvide certified cpy f Cuban Visa. Cver Letter The emplyer must prvide a letter addressed t the Secretary f the Business Staffing Plan Bard identifying clearly the psitin in the cmpany's valid Business Staffing Plan Certificate fr which the prspective emplyee is required and why. Medical Questinnaire Unless the prspective emplyee has submitted a medical questinnaire in the six mnths prir t this applicatin fr the grant f a wrk permit, ne must nw be prvided. Part 1 must be cmpleted by the prspective emplyee; Part 2 must be cmpleted by their physician and shuld bear his/her signature and seal r stamp. The riginal lab reprt shwing the HIV/VDRL test results must als be prvided. The HIV/VDRL tests must be taken within the six mnths preceding yur applicatin fr the grant f a wrk permit. Nte: HIV/VDRL lab reprts are nt acceptable frm Jamaica, Haiti, Dminican Republic, Hnduras and Nicaragua. Prspective wrkers frm these regins will be required t re-take the HIV/VDRL tests nce in the Cayman Islands. Original medical questinnaires are als required fr an accmpanying spuse and any children ver the age f eighteen. Birth/Marriage Certificates If adding fr the first time, a spuse r a child n the wrk permit renewal applicatin frm, the relatinship t the emplyee must be prved by submitting marriage licence & birth certificates as apprpriate. Private Schl Please prvide a letter frm a private schl/university cnfirming acceptance/ attendance fr yur child. If ver eighteen years ld, the cnfrmatin/attendance letter must be submitted annually. Sectin 52 (10) applicatin (t cincide with spuse): An affidavit (see immigratin frms fr sample) and certified cpy f marriage certificate Advertisements If the jb fr which the prspective emplyee is required is listed in the Business Staffing Plan Certificate as ne which must be advertised, the prspective emplyer must d the fllwing: advertise the psitin in a lcal newspaper fr at least tw issues fr tw cnsecutive weeks frward all respnses received frm Caymanians, peple married t Caymanians and permanent residents as t why they were nt suitable candidates fr the psitin t the Business Staffing Plan Bard alng with cpies f their CVs when submitting the wrk permit applicatin prvide t the Business Staffing Plan Bard

3 prvide a cpy f each advertisement (full page f the newspaper shwing the date) when submitting the wrk permit applicatin. The advertisement must cntain the fllwing infrmatin: a full and accurate descriptin f the jb t be filled; and a full and accurate descriptin f the qualificatins the prspective emplyer cnsiders are necessary fr carrying ut the jb; the number f years experience required; the name and address f the emplyer r agency; and indicatin f the salary range Curriculum Vitae Please enclse a cpy f the prspective emplyee's curriculum vitae Caymanian Applicants Attach the resumes f all Caymanian applicants. In the Emplyer sectin f the applicatin, include the Natinal Wrkfrce Develpment Agency (NWDA) Jb ID Number(s). Fr each referral, explain why the Caymanian(s) was nt hired fr the psitin. Further infrmatin can be btained at the NWDA website: Trade & Business Licence Where the Trade & Business Licence has expired, a cpy f the receipt f payment fr the renewal frm emplyer is needed. Where the emplyer is licenced by anther bdy ther than the Trade & Business Licencing Bard, prf f current licence r cpy f the receipt f payment fr the renewal is required. Educatin Please prvide certified cpies f newly acquired educatinal certificates/ diplmas/ degrees. Resume Please prvide a cpy f the Applicant s Resume Release Letter A release letter where the applicant is changing jbs prir t the expiry f their current wrk permit frm emplyer is required. Where ne is nt frthcming, a letter f explanatin and any supprting dcumentatin is required. Business Staffing Plan Number Ensure that the Business Staffing Plan number fr the emplyee is the next available number in the plan. E.g. if psitin #2 is taken and #3 and #4 are available then #3 must be used befre #4 can be used, unless the applicant is replacing an emplyee in psitin #2. Business Staffing Plan Cnditins Please ensure cmpliance with cnditins set within the Business Staffing Plan e.g. Regulatins 6 cnditins.

4 Psitin If the psitin is nt included in the plan, the new title must be requested t be added within the cver letter and an additinal nn-refundable applicatin fee f CI$100 must be included. English language requirements Prir t arrival in the Islands, a prspective emplyee whse first language is nt English is required t take the verseas English language testing (ELT). This testing requirement is envisined t be mre accmmdating and cnvenient as it will enable persns t make appintments and sit tests in his/her wn cuntry prir t travelling t the Cayman Islands. Arrangements shuld be made t be tested by ne f the tw recgnized verseas English Testing Centres. These are the Internatinal English Language Test (IELTS) and Test f English fr Internatinal Cmmunicatin (TOEIC), each f which has test centres perating in multiple cuntries. T be successful in this phase f their wrk permit applicatin a prspective wrker must scre within the fllwing ranges: Internatinal English Language Testing System (IELTS): Band Scre Level Test f English fr Internatinal Cmmunicatin (TOEIC): Band Scre Level B2 - Prspective emplyees shuld arrange t attend a relevant centre in their respective cuntries. In the event that there is n centre in their cuntry, arrangements may be made at the nearest centre. In this situatin nly, applicants may travel t the Cayman Islands fr testing. Testing will include cmpetencies in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Overall scres will include a cmbinatin f the fur cmpetencies. If the prspective emplyee is already in the Cayman they may be required t cme t the Department f Immigratin Headquarters t take an English test upn apprval in principle f the wrk permit. If fund nt t pssess a sufficient knwledge f the English language, they may have their permissin t remain r wrk permit revked. Additinal supprting dcumentatin is required if the prspective emplyee is t be emplyed in the fllwing emplyment sectrs/psitins: Hspitality Industry If the prspective emplyee is t be emplyed as a diver, a cpy f their PADI/NAUI certificatin must be prvided. Prfessinal/Managerial Psitins Ntarized cpies f the prspective emplyee's prfessinal qualificatins must be prvided. In the case f health practitiners/nurses etc., please prvide a certified cpy f their licence t practice by the Health Practitiners Bard

5 In the case f teachers, please prvide a certified cpy f their licencing frm the Educatinal Cuncil In the case f prfessinals within the financial services industry whse psitins are regulated by the Cayman Islands Mnetary Authrity (CIMA), please prvide written apprval fr Senir Finance/Banking prfessinal frm the CIMA. Farming Please prvide a certified cpy f certificatin frm the Department f Agriculture. Veterinary Please prvide apprval frm Veterinary Bard. Emplyment Agency Please prvide prf f past and future emplyment fr the applicant. Security Officer Please prvide a cpy f licence frm the Ryal Cayman Islands Plice (RCIP) Entertainment Please prvide apprval frm the Music Assciatin Skilled/Supervisry Psitins Please prvide ntarized cpies f the prspective emplyee's qualificatins and details f the skills they pssess that are relevant and required fr the psitin fr which they are prpsing t be emplyed. Dmestic/Nanny/Caregiver Where the prspective emplyee is t care fr the elderly r infirm, a supprting letter frm a medical dctr shuld be prvided which gives details f their medical cnditin. Where caring fr a child/children the birth certificates f the child/children being cared fr must be prvided, unless these dcuments were previusly prvided. Prvide Prf f Emplyment via an Emplyment/Jb letter stating ccupatin and salary. If Self emplyed, prvide an Emplyment Letter stating ccupatin and salary, tgether with a cpy f current Trade and Business Licence and prf f pay, fr example an riginal pay slip r bank statements. Cnstructin Industry Please prvide a cpy f Immigratin Frm A (r a list f clients including addresses and telephne numbers) and cpies f signed cntracts, frm emplyer, redacted where apprpriate. In additin, building permits fr all n-ging cnstructin prjects and thse t be undertaken shuld be prvided t supplement the applicatin (if available). Plumbers: Please prvide a cpy f the prspective emplyee's current licence frm the Water Authrity authrising them t perate as a plumber. Electricians: Please prvide a cpy f the prspective emplyee's current licence frm the

6 Electrical Bard f Examiners authrising them t perate as an electrician. The emplyer must als prvide the rati f electricians t electrical helpers emplyed within the cmpany. Janitrial & Gardening Services Please prvide cpies f signed cntracts/agreements fr prvisin f gardening r janitrial services that are in peratin at the time f applicatin r are t be undertaken. Drivers Please prvide a ntarized cpy f the prspective emplyee's licence frm the Public Transprt Bard fr the apprpriate categry f vehicle. Send the cmpleted applicatin t: The Secretary t the Business Staffing Plan Bard P.O. Bx 1098 Grand Cayman, KY CAYMAN ISLANDS What happens next? If the applicatin is apprved, an apprval licence will be mailed r ed t yu ntifying yu f the decisin and setting ut the terms and cnditins upn which the wrker may wrk. If the applicatin is refused, there is a right f appeal t the Immigratin Appeals Tribunal under Sectin 15 but such appeal must be submitted within 28 days f the decisin being cmmunicated. Under the Law an applicant is required t prvide a cmplete applicatin which has been defined as abve. Failure t cmply with the abve culd result in a refusal by the Bard. Revised 10-Jul-14
