2 Hello Friends, First and foremost, I would like to thank Plumbers Local 130 Business Manager, James Coyne and his staff, American Society of Sanitary Engineering Executive Director Scott Hamilton, and our Board of Directors, who were all on hand the night of the Plumbers Local 130 Patio Party when we kicked off our ASSE promotion drive. It was a great success and a lot of interest was expressed that night, we passed out no less than one hundred and eighteen business cards and applications. I'm sure we have some new members on the hook, now let s reel them in! Input from new members would be like a breath of fresh air, and they could have some interesting conversations with veteran members, we could all share a plumbing story or two with each other. I ask everyone to promote our great organization and try to get new members on board with us! Recently l saw two teenagers standing next to a city fire hydrant, which was running about half open. They seemed to be having fun. What would you do if you saw that? I figured it ran for an hour before it was shut off. Somewhere on this planet a child dies every seventeen seconds from a water borne disease, probably because they can t get a fresh glass of water. I kind of doubt that the two teenagers standing by the running hydrant were aware of that fact, and I kind of doubt they realize how lucky they are to live in The United States Of America.
