1 Financial Aid Application Packet For the upcoming season, the Board of Directors of the Oak Ridge Jr. Trojans Football & Cheer has initiated a Financial Aid Fund to provide help to families in need of financial assistance during these hard economic times. The board has allocated a Financial Aid budget that is available and open to all who feel they may be in need of this assistance in order to participate in the Junior Trojan Football and Cheer program. Approval for all or part of the requested Financial Aid is not guaranteed and will be approved/denied on an individual basis. Interested families should print the Personal Sponsorship form, obtain as many personal sponsorships as possible, and list the sponsors prior to submitting the application. Please fill out the Financial Aid form and return to the Executive Vice President by no later than July 15th. It can be mailed to the address listed below. A parent or guardian should make the financial assistance request. Once the financial request is reviewed and approved, the parent or guardian will be required to complete 20 hours of volunteer service to the organization for each player approved as described in the application. A member of our Board of Directors will be in contact with you to confirm the volunteer service you are able to provide to the organization. You can be a coach, assistant coach, team Parent Guardian, Game Day and/or Registration Day volunteer as needed in order to satisfy the volunteer hours requested for this financial application. There are many ways to volunteer within the ORJT program so please feel free to contact any Board member as soon as possible to find out where your volunteer hours may be provided. The objective of ORJT is to teach and develop all participants equally in football and cheerleading skills, while implanting the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, courage, loyalty and respect for one s self and others.

I am making this request due to an existing financial hardship that makes it difficult to meet the required fees in order for my child to participate in the upcoming ORJT season and understand all or part of these costs are not guaranteed to be approved. I understand and agree to fulfill the Financial Aid requirements of providing 20 hours of volunteer time to the Oak Ridge Jr. Trojans Football & Cheer program, as repayment for the requested fees for each player. I understand that the Vice President of Administration may approve the date, time, location, and type of service. I understand that failure to complete 20 volunteer hours may result in having to pay back the Scholarship amount awarded, and the possibility of denial for any future Financial Aid applications. 3 FOOTBALL AND CHEER - PERSONAL SCHOLARSHIP Sponsorship is a very easy way to help defray the cost of football and cheer. Money earned as sponsorship comes directly off your cost. Follow these easy steps: 1. Think of people who may want to help support you and this program (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, local business owners, etc.) 2. Contact these people by telephone or letter (samples enclosed). If sending a letter, be sure to make copies of the sponsorship form to send along with the letter and print as many as needed. The more you send, the more likely you are to receive personal sponsorships. 3. Request a donation to help support you as an Oak Ridge Jr. Trojan. 4. DO NOT TAKE CASH Please make sure that all donations are in the form of a check made out to the Oak Ridge Jr. Trojans (ORJT). Be sure that they put the cheerleader/ football player s name in the memo portion of the check. 5. Complete the sponsor form with each donation. This will ensure that the money goes directly toward your costs. 6. Be sure to log the sponsor s name and amount sponsored on your tracking form. 7. NOTE: Personal sponsors DO NOT receive an advertisement on the web site or on game day. They will get a one-line mention on the personal sponsors listing.

4 Hello, YOUTH CHEER SPONSORSHIP REQUEST This year I am going to be an Oak Ridge Jr. Trojan Cheerleader. I am really looking forward to this experience. Being an Oak Ridge Jr. Trojan Cheerleader will help me learn discipline, leadership, good sportsmanship, and teamwork. I will learn to work hard and always strive for my personal best. I will have the opportunity to be involved in many exciting activities. It will require a lot of dedication and hard work from me. I will be practicing up to five days a week learning sideline routines for the games, learning how to get the crowd enthused, learning and performing half-time routines and even preparing for a cheer competition at the end of the season. In order to cheer I will need to purchase such things as a uniform, warm up suit and attend camp. To help with the costs of cheerleading we will be participating in a few fundraisers. One of the fundraisers that we will be participating in is an individual sponsorship drive. I am asking you to sponsor me and any money you donate will go directly towards my costs. 8 FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION CHECKLIST: If interested in applying for financial aid, please ensure ALL of the steps listed below have been completed prior to submitting your application. All of the resources you will need to complete these steps have been provided for you in this packet. We have found after completing these steps, most families needs of financial aid are drastically reduced, if not eliminated making more funds available to additional athletes within our program.
