2 Beaver Run Resort Breckenridge, CO USA The Spinal Injury Foundation cordially invites you to join your colleagues at the 2005 International Whiplash Trauma Congress to be held at the Beaver Run Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado. This year s national and international scientific congress, ranging in topics from medicine to engineering to auto design to basic science research, will inform you regarding the latest developments in whiplash diagnosis, treatment, research and prevention. Target Audience The meeting is oriented toward clinicians who provide care for patients with whiplash and related disorders (MD, DC, DO, PT, etc.), but will be of interest to anyone with a professional interest in whiplash, including engineers, biomechanists, insurance personnel, and attorneys, among others. Objectives At the conclusion of this meeting, attendees will be able to: Understand the latest developments in late whiplash diagnosis and management. Understand the direction and upcoming developments regarding ongoing research. Predict which patients will become chronic suffers. Document the injury with objective diagnostics. Commercial Support Disclosure In effort to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor, the Spinal Injury Foundation requires all faculty to disclose to the audience any and all off-label use, any significant financial interest or other relationship to any commercial products or provider. They are therefore required to have as their first slide this disclosure. Continuing Education Credits This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Medical Education Collaborative, Inc. (MEC) and Spinal Injury Foundation. MEC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Abstracts (both for podium and poster presentation) should be focused on original research in the area of whiplash basic science, treatment, diagnosis, biomechanics, and engineering. Abstracts should be no longer than 400 words and will be peer-reviewed. All abstracts must be submitted by November 1, Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit full length papers for publication in The Journal of Whiplash and Related Disorders. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by November 15, Abstracts must be submitted online using the electronic submission form at htm. Abstracts submitted any other way will not be accepted. Proceeding Materials An extensive program guidebook will be provided each registrant. This guidebook contains pertinent information on each conference topic. 5 Accommodations This exciting conference will be held at the beautiful Beaver Run Resort, nestled at the base of one of Colorado s greatest ski runs. Breckenridge Ski Area is considered a self-contained vacation playground for winter activities. Lodging is available to registrants and their guests at the special group rates ranging from $169 (hotel) to $425 (two bedroom condo) per night. These rates will also be available up to three days before and after the conference (based on availability) should you wish to extend your stay. In order to qualify for our special group rates, you must call Beaver Run Resort at or and indicate you are with the Spinal Injury Foundation. Because there is a high demand for hotel rooms in Breckenridge during ski season, you should make your lodging reservations early. We strongly recommend you reserve by December 15, 2004 since rooms may sell out. Cut off date for discounted reservations is January 10, Winter Activities/Discounts For our group, adult ski lift tickets will be $57/day and children ski lift tickets will be $26/ day with a discount voucher. 6 Driving Directions The historic mining/resort town of Breckenridge is located two hours west of Denver International Airport via Interstate 70 and Colorado Highway 9 southbound. Arriving from Denver, you ll drive westbound on I-70 and through the Eisenhower Tunnel as you cross the Continental Divide. At Exit 203, Highway 9 South, you ll travel 10 miles to Breckenridge. Beaver Run is located at the base of Peak 9 just a few blocks from historic Main Street. From I-70 take Exit 203, Colorado Highway 9 southbound. Travel 10 miles and go through Breckenridge to South Park Avenue. Turn right on South Park Ave and make the first left onto Village Road. Drive uphill to the Beaver Run Resort registration area located on the left at 620 Village Road.
