1 Exchange 2003 Mailboxes Microsoft will stop supporting Exchange 2003 mailboxes in 2014 as it comes to the end of it s life. To maintain our levels of support and performance of all our customers, we will start migrating Exchange 2003 mailboxes onto our new Exchange 2013 platform in December Key Features: Increased mailbox size to 25GB 99.99% uptime guarantee More robust platform in full support by the vendor, Microsoft Modern features and advantages of Outlook 2010 and Exchange 2013 such as simplified administration, improved Outlook Web App, Integrated Spam Filtering and more. We have worked hard to make the migration as easy as possible and in many cases, you don t need to do anything. If you are using Outlook 2003 or 2007 Earlier versions of Outlook will not connect to the new powerful Exchange 2013 mailboxes. In light of this, you can now download Outlook 2010 free of charge. We will send you a link to download this nearer to the time of migration. Please note: If you are using Outlook Web App to access you then the link to use to gain access online is Changing to Outlook 2010 is simple if you follow the steps as outlined in this guide: 1.) Backup 2.) Remove Outlook 2003 and Profile 3.) Set up Outlook 2010

2 1.) Backup Before making any changes to your Outlook installation; we strongly recommend taking a backup. This should not be needed but is best practice. Back up your s and contacts. 1 Open Outlook. Click File and then Import and Export from the drop down menu. 2 Select Export to a file and click Next. 3 Select Personal Folder File and click Next. 4 Select the folders that you would like to back up. In this example we are backing up the inbox and all the subfolders within the inbox. 5 Click Next. 6 Press Browse and choose where on your local computer you would like to store your backed up data. Make a note of where you saved the file, so you can easily find it later. Click Finish to complete the process. 7 If you would like to secure your back up data, enter a password and click OK Next Step - Remove Outlook 2003 and Profile...

3 2.) Remove Outlook 2003 and Profile Before installing the new 2010 software you will need to remove your existing profile and 2003 software from your PC. 1 Open Control Panel on your PC. Click the Mail icon. 2 Select Show Profiles. 3 Select your current profile (make sure this is the correct one) and select Remove. 4 Confirm this by selecting Yes. 5 From Control Panel once more, select Programs and Features this time. 6 From the list of programmes carefully select Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and click Uninstall 7 Confirm this by selecting Yes. Set up Outlook Click the Windows Start button and open the Windows Control Panel. 2 Category view: If your Windows Control Panel is in Category view, click User accounts, then click the Mail icon. Classic view: If your Windows Control Panel is in Classic view, click the Mail icon. 3 Click the Show Profiles button. 4 A new window will open. Under When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile, ensure Prompt for a profile to be used is selected.

5 5 Click the Add button, above When starting Microsoft Outlook, use this profile. 6 A new window will open, asking you to name the new profile. You may want to name the profile after the address that you are configuring. 7 The Add New Account wizard will open. Check the box Manually configure server settings or additional server types and click Next.

6 8 Select Microsoft Exchange or compatible service and then click the Next button. 9 Enter your Exchange server name, ensuring Use cached Exchange mode is selected. Example: EXCH-BE04 - you should already have a copy of all your details. 10 Enter your full address in the User name text box. Click the More Settings button.

7 11 12 A window with the heading Microsoft Exchange Server will open. Click the Connection tab. Ensure the Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) radio button is selected. 13 Towards the bottom of the window, there should be a section with the heading Outlook Anywhere. Select the Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP check box and then click the Exchange Proxy Settings button. 14 A new window will open. Under Connection settings, enter exchange.liv .co.uk.

8 15 Tick the box marked On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP, then check that the drop-down list under Proxy authentication settings is set to NTLM Authentication. 16 Click OK and then click OK in the Microsoft Exchange Server window. 17 Click Next in the Add new Account window. 18 Click Finish. 19 Open Outlook 2010 and select your new profile, when prompted Enter your full address in the username text box, then your password, when prompted. Outlook will now load and synchronize with your Microsoft Exchange mailbox. For a new mailbox, this will take no more than a few seconds. You have now configured Outlook 2010 for use with your Microsoft Exchange mailbox.
