1 Subcommittee Conference Planning May 23, 2011 American Heart Association-Dallas Westin Park Central, Merit Drive Co-Chairs: Jennifer Ledbetter and Tami Kayea Staff Liaison: Dawn Kregel 1. 7:30 Welcome Jennifer Exhibit 1A Conference Planning Roster Exhibit 1B meeting Minutes Goal of this subcommittee is to plan the content, format, and speakers for a regional professional education conference on the latest treatment and system initiatives for the management of patients with AMI. Review Roster and Vote and approve minutes from 2. 7:35 Specs for Conference Tami Specs developed for the Conference. Information only 3. 7:45 Registration Jennifer CDS is a private company managing the registration on-line and will manage the desk on the days of the symposium. A late registration fee of $40.00/day and $75.00 for both. Elysse will give an update on the number of attendees. 4. 7:50 Handouts for Conference Tami Hard copy of agenda will be handed to participants along with a website for further information. An blast will also be sent out to registered AHA and other list provided by the AHA. If there are VIPs the committee wishes to invite, send names to AHA liaison 6. 8:35 Exhibitors Tami Subcommittee will invite exhibitors from the various services with regards to the Cardiac patient List of exhibitors to participate at the conference and report from Lauren or Julie 7. 8:45 Poster Applications Jennifer Subcommittee would like to have shared practices from the region with regards to the AMI processes from EMS agencies and hospitals Poster applications are coming from over the state and not just the region. 8. 9:00 Presentations Tami To have standard presentations for the conference, an has been sent out to the speakers to transfer the lectures. Review Roster and Vote and approve minutes from April 25, 2011 Roster Information only Minutes Approved for April 25, :35 Panel for Conference Tami Selection for panel of different disciplines needed for last agenda item of the conference. Subcommittee members need to submit names of those that should be a part of this panel. All disciplines need to be included Handout of the agenda should show the name of each participant in the panel Panel will include Cardiologist, Cath Lab Tech, ED Nurse, ED Physcian, Paramedic, and Pharmacist Consider asking Mark Till or Liz Fagan for Physician ED 3. 7:45 Registration Tami Page 1 of 4

Discuss the look of the handouts. Things attendees should receive as part of their handouts o Which room is each session held o Pens and pad from hotel Other items attendees will need o Ask presenters to give their presentation by May 20 th in order to provide it online Will send presenters AHA PowerPoint template o Standing microphones for asking questions Elysse will work on getting those for us 5. 8:30 Marketing Tami Marketing the conference with the use of the AHA s resources.
