1 SPEAKERS 2015 Alessandro Lo Piano Pomar has a bachelor degree in business administration and a master degree in finance from Bocconi University. He started his career at Value Partners, one of the top ranked management consultancies in Europe. Alessandro is currently VP Global Sales EMEA & APAC at WIHP, being responsible for the company revenue growth. He has a solid understanding of hotel marketing and online advertising tools, with a particular focus on meta search systems. Cristina Blaj is an experienced travel industry professional, passionate about travel and technology with just over 10 years experience in the travel and hospitality industry. In her role as Regional Sales Director for erevmax RateTiger, Cristina is responsible for recommending revenue maximization solutions to the hospitality industry. David McGloin joined SiteMinder in 2011 just as the company moved to Europe. He witnessed the growth from around 3,000 hotels to over 15,000 in 3 years. With a degree in International Finance and Capital Market Studies he has always had a keen interest in Pricing methods and the economics behind it; what intrigues him the most is how the hotel industry differs from other markets. This coupled with an enthusiasm for technology has lead him towards the travel tech sector. Erik Muñoz is a specialist in the field of hotel sales, marketing, Revenue Management and operations technology, which makes him a really boring dinner guest, unless you are a hotelier. Erik is a frequent public speaker on topics related to online distribution, digital marketing and Revenue Management and moderates an online group of more than 11,000 hospitality industry professionals about hotel sales, marketing and Revenue technology solutions and strategy As alumni of Hotelschool The Hague, Erik Tengen has 9 years working experience in the hospitality industry. With his passion for entrepreneurship and eagerness to innovate, Erik co-founded Oaky shortly after graduating. Focusing on operations and sales, he is in the front lines of challenging large corporations in how feedback can be acquired and analyzed in real-time. Fredrik Önrup has an MBA and has studied Hospitality Management and Revenue Management in the United States, including at the Cornell University. Since the mid-90s he has successfully applied Menu Engineering and is now a frequent lecturer and consultant. He is also the sommelier and importing wines from Italy. Previously to co-founding OTA Insight Gino Engels has built a successful commercial career in the drinks and entertainment industry. He worked with leading global retailers to build more profitable campaigns by focusing on brand visibility in offline and online channels. He currently engages the industry's local and global players to share the challenges they face in the new digital hospitality landscape and provides them with tools & insights to overcome technological barriers. 2 Working at IDeaS since 2004, Guy Barnes has over ten year s prior Revenue Management experience in the hotel industry. Based out of SAS UK headquarters, Guy is responsible for developing new and existing key strategic accounts with hotel groups within the EMEA region. Previously, he was responsible for implementing IDeaS revenue management solutions worldwide. Prior to joining IDeaS, Guy held a number of corporate revenue management positions. Hannah Moxom has more than 12 years experience in 5* hotels. With a strong background in event and group sales, Hannah became in 2012 the specialist of the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe region as Director of Business Development bringing a significant contribution to TSA Solutions managing approximately 50 hotels that generate an average of $13 million in upsell revenue per year. Jeff Down heads up the Business Development team in the EAME region. He has overseen significant growth in the number of hotels deploying Nor1 s estandby service over the past 4 years and is leading the regional roll-out of Nor1 s new ereach mobile functionality and efdu Front Desk product. Jeff has been responsible for increasing the number of tech providers interfacing with Nor1's suite of products, enabling hotels to benefit from significant incremental revenue opportunities. Karin Mäntymäki is director of the Stockholm Convention Bureau, which serves to attract international congresses and corporate meetings to Stockholm. Karin has long experience in the international congress world and has previously worked as head of congresses at Stockholm International Fairs for many years. Maarten Plesman leads the EMEA region for Revinate, the company that innovated our industry to come up with the first Enterprise Grade Online Reputation Management platform. Maarten has a passion for problem solving around the real challenges hotels face every day. For this particular occasion, he will lead a lively discussion around the impact of reputation on pricing strategies. Based in Amsterdam, VP Business Development Margitte Verkruijsse is responsible for all aspects of the business development process, sales activities and marketing partnerships for SnapShot. Prior to joining SnapShot, Margitte was most recently with Sabre Hospitality Solutions as Director of Sales where she contributed to the growth of the Company in the EMEA region. 3 Formerly the VP of Sales at NTR Global, Michael Kessler has more than 15 years experience in leading and building effective sales organizations in competitive markets and fast growing organizations within the software industry. ReviewPro is the leading provider of guest intelligence solutions to independent hotel brands worldwide. As a Senior Consultant at IDeaS Revenue Solutions since 2013, Neil Corr began his career on a General Management trainee programme, moving on to role in sales and marketing, then revenue management. Based out of the SAS UK headquarters, Neil has responsibility for Consulting at IDeaS Revenue Solutions across the EMEA region. Prior to joining IDeaS, Neil held a number of corporate revenue management positions at Ramada, Whitbread and De Vere Group. Niels Meekenkamp is Director of Hospitality PreSales for Infor in the EMEA region, a department which supports the sales teams with in depth and technical product knowledge during the sales process. Niels was working for EasyRMS when it was acquired by Infor in He founded the Infor EzPLUS department to enable delivery of a complete Revenue Management Consulting package in addition to the EzRMS system. Niels has worked in the Hospitality industry for the last 20 years and has specialized in Revenue Management. In 1994 Nils Axing joined Grand Hotel Stockholm and 1997 he was promoted to Director F&B. Nils was appointed General Manager and CEO January 2010 Nils joined IHG and was appointed General Manager at InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam. His current position is General Manager at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi. Nils studied at The University of Uppsala & Accounting at Stockholm School of Economics. He holds several certificates from Cornell University & followed a General Managers Program. Niseth Boerrigter has a Bachelor in Tourism Development and started her career in Namibia as technical advisor for the Tourism Association. Later she worked as Policy Advisor at the Netherlands Consulate in Cape Town. Since 2007 she works for Amsterdam RAI where she now is Manager of the RAI Hotel & Travel Service and is part of the team developing the I Amsterdam approved label, guaranteeing organizers of Congresses and Exhibitions up to hotel rooms in Amsterdam. Patrik Norman holds the position as the Senior Director of Sales at TravelClick. He has been responsible for Scandinavia for the last 7 years and before he was Head of Online and Distribution for American Express Business travel Nordic. He has been in the industry for 30 years. 4 Richard Valtr comes from a family background in hotel investment and Management and was educated at University College London. The idea for Mews originated while he was project-managing a 59-bedroom luxury design hotel in the centre of Prague's Old Town. Having had a special passion for computing since his youth, the idea behind creating a platform through on which any hotel can manage every aspect of their operations, while trying to generate a personalised experience for each traveller, is what is still driving the vision of what Mews hopes to become. Sara Duggan is currently a Senior Director in Business Intelligence, leading numerous product teams. Born and raised in Southern Africa, she received her Post Graduate degree in Business Hospitality at IHTTI Hotel School in Switzerland. Sara previously worked as a consultant in both Revenue Management and Marketing. She has created and led the Revenue Management and Distribution Departments for Blackstone s European properties. Simone Puorto has been working in the hospitality industry for the last 15 years. He very successfully managed two boutique hotels in Rome. In 2012 Simone left hotel management to join WIHP as Senior Account Manager and Hotel Analyst to apply his know-how with new challenges of international markets. This enthusiastic former hotelier currently lives in Paris and consults 50 hotels worldwide. Simone runs a blog, writes books on hotel marketing and lectures on the topic. Tom Tarmann has worked in and with the hospitality branch for more than 25 years. Having previously worked for companies like Amadeus Hospitality (nowadays Infor) and ADS Anker (nowadays Micros), he has delivered hundreds of Property Management-, Channel Management-, Revenue Management- and Point of Sales projects. Three years ago he started a joint venture with TAC GmbH, providing Consulting and IT solutions for the Hospitality, Spa and Fitness industries. Travis Cabrera is Regional Director at Revinate. With 15+ years of hospitality experience in luxury resort operations and hospitality technology, Travis advises hoteliers, organizations, individuals how to use technology to better understand their guests, improve service levels and drive revenue growth. Away from the office, Travis enjoys cooking, photography, traveling and cycling. Ulrich (Uli) Pillau is responsible for Hetras sales & client services. Uli brings over 20 years of experience in hotel software solutions to hetras. He started his hotel career in hotel groups such as InterContinental, Hilton and Mövenpick. Prior to joining hetras, he was responsible for IDeaS Revenue Optimization operations in EAME and held various senior level positions at Micros Fidelio Software including Training Director, Managing Director and Vice President of Major Accounts worldwide. Anders also works as a teacher at the Restaurant and Hotel School at Örebro University in Revenue Management, Hotel Technology and Distribution. Anders has a long career in the hospitality industry and has worked both as a hotel- CEO and a restaurant-ceo. Annemarie Gubanski has a long experience in Revenue Management and Distribution. She runs and ownes the Sweden based Taktikon, specializing in Revenue Management and Distribution Training & Consultancy for the hospitality industry.
