2 LEASING & EQUIPMENT FINANCE Conference2015 Speakers Dr Don Stammer Dr Don Stammer is a doyen of economics in Australia. Following an initial career in academia, Don spent a decade in central banking with the Reserve Bank of Australia. He was the Chief Economist/Director of Investment Strategy for Deutsche Bank Australia, and its predecessor, Bain and Company. He was also a visiting professor, teaching in the MBA program of the Australian Graduate School of Management. Don was a director of ING in Australia, Chairman of three ING property trusts, and chaired companies in the education, financial services and environment and resources sectors. Currently he chairs the listed company QV Equities and is a director of IPE and of Kaplan Higher Education. Don serves on the investment committees of the Children s Medical Research Institute and of Redkite, and writes a weekly column on investment for The Australian. Adam D. Warner Adam D. Warner is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), the association representing equipment financiers in the United States, and the President of Key Equipment Finance. Adam is responsible for all of Key Equipment Finance s commercial and bank-based equipment finance efforts, together with equipment finance programs for the corporate aviation, technology, energy, healthcare, specialty vehicle and government vertical market segments. He also has responsibility for overseeing the equipment finance arrangements for the company s vendor programs. Headquartered outside Denver, Colorado, Key Equipment Finance manages an approximate US$9 billion equipment finance portfolio with annual originations in excess of US$4 billion; the company has been in the equipment finance business for over 35 years. Michelle Gibbs Michelle Gibbs is Director, CFO Advisory at KPMG, specialising in providing accounting solutions for structured transactions, with particular focus on the leasing and finance industry. Michelle is a member of the KPMG ASPAC Topic Team for Leases and regularly talks to lessees and lessors about the impact and opportunities of the lease accounting proposals. Previously Michelle worked at Merrill Lynch and then Deutsche Bank in the Accounting Policy Group for 5 years, providing accounting advice to investment banks and their clients on structured transactions. Patrick Beselaere Patrick Beselaere is the Global Head of ING Lease, a position he has held since the beginning of Patrick has more than 25 years experience in banking, with most of this time in asset finance. During his career he has worked in sales and various operational areas such as credit and risk management. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Belgian Leasing Association, and a former Chairman. ING Lease offers financial leasing solutions on behalf of the ING Bank distribution network, and works with vendors and brokers to service business customers in Europe. Several years ago ING Lease underwent a strategic repositioning, resulting in a reduction in geographical footprint from fifteen to five countries, and a reduction in the total lease portfolio from EUR16.5 billion to EUR6.5 billion. As from this year, a new development plan for equipment finance which supports the ING Group has been implemented. Kevin Lee Kevin Lee is Division Director, Debt Origination and Structuring, Macquarie Bank, with over 19 years experience in the origination and structuring of debt capital market transactions, particularly securitisation and structured debt issues in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Kevin has been involved in the arrangement and placement of a variety of mortgage and asset backed securitisations, including auto and equipment backed ABS and non-conforming RMBS and auto backed ABS. Kevin joined Macquarie in 1999 following the acquisition of Bankers Trust Australia. 4 Graeme Tucker Graeme Tucker is a banking partner at Ashurst in Sydney. He is experienced in asset finance (including syndicated and bilateral leveraged leases), corporate and trade finance, and has substantial expertise in the application of the Personal Property Securities Act, including in the context of equipment financing transactions. Prior to joining Ashurst, Graeme worked on financing transactions at Sidley Austin in New York, and for nearly six years as a partner at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs in South Africa. Jock O Shea Jock O Shea is a partner at Ashurst, working in the firm s Sydney and Brisbane offices. His practice includes structuring, negotiating, and advising on all aspects of vehicle and other equipment financing transactions for clients in a range of industries, including logistics, agriculture and mining.
