2 Advanced Insolvency : a one day professional meeting from IRRV Scotland Thursday 26 th November Grangemouth Course background This course will develop the themes and foundations considered at the Introduction to Insolvency course run earlier this year and aims to give you practical tools you can use for effective recoveries in your day job. We will look in more detail at business structures, including partnerships and limited companies, so that you can target your recovery investigations and resources. We will look in detail at the rights and remedies that an insolvency practitioner has against companies, directors (whether formally appointed or not) and partnerships and partners. We will also look at the rights, obligations and remedies of landlords, tenants and insolvency practitioners on insolvency, as well as the practical ramifications of insolvency on any diligence in progress at the time of appointment. The course is designed to be participative and to equip you with knowledge you can apply in your day-to-day role. A member of the IPA and R3, Eileen represented Scotland on R3 s National Council for six years until She has been an active member of R3 s Scottish Technical Committee since In 2009 Eileen co-founded Insolvency Support Services Limited. ISS provides volume support and outsourcing services to the Scottish Government, Big 4, medium and smaller practices including case progression and closure, back office support and compliance reviews. Eileen specialises is complex issues and dispute resolution.

4 Eileen is widely recognised as the foremost trainer of insolvency in Scotland and through ISS trains students of insolvency at all levels and provides tailored training for IPs, solicitors and banks. Christine Convy MIPA, MABRP, Director of Dunedin Recovery Limited Christine is an experienced accountant and insolvency practitioner with over 25 years in business services and insolvency. Having taken personal and corporate appointments as a licensed insolvency practitioner since 1995, Christine has experience of a wide range of business sectors and different appointment types. She is renowned for her practical and commercial approach to business, having run her own business since the early 1990s, and has considerable expertise in restructuring and turnaround. An instinctive business woman, fellow company owners value Christine s views and expertise and she provides mentoring support to other business owners. Christine specialises in cost-effective design and implementation of process-driven solutions. She is regularly requested to provide professional opinion on reports, company valuations, and estimated outcomes in a variety of business situations, including dispute resolutions, marital disputes, shareholder disputes and creditor negotiations. She is passionate about business with a solution driven approach. This professional meeting represents excellent value for money, with delegate fees starting at only VAT.
