1 1 Rosetta Stone: Learning and FAQ 1. To login to, easypass username and password is to be used. If you have forgotten your easypass, then call the Help Desk at for information 2. Once you login and select from the courses the language you want to learn. 3. If you are using Mozilla Firefox, you will be asked to download a plug-in, click on Click here to download Plug-in

2 2 4. It will instruct to download the Shockwave player. Download Shockwave player 5.Click Next on Installation process, it will then ask you to agree to the Adobe Software End User Agreement, Select I agree and click Next

3 3 6. The installer then will begin the installation process for the plugin 7 Upon complete installation, it will show a window, informing about installation process. Click Finish 8. After you have installed Macromedia Shockwave Player 10.1, you will need to close Mozilla Firefox and restart and login to Rosetta page to be able to properly use it.

4 4 9. If you notice the following error, close the window and close Mozilla Firefox. Open Firefox again and login to Rosetta 10. After logging in to Rosetta and selecting the language you are attempting to learn, it will ask for an Update for Shockwave, click on Update Now

5 5 11. On clicking Update Now, it will direct to the page to download Shockwave Click on Install Now 12. Make sure, pop windows are disabled on Mozilla Firefox. It will prompt to Save File, click on Save File

6 6 13. After downloading the program file, go to the download location where the file is saved and open the file. Installation window will pop up. Uncheck the box, Install Free Norton Security Scan with Shockwave player and click Next. Upon installation, it completes the process. Click Finish After installation and selecting the course, it will ask for permission to install some new components, click Install

After the process is completed, the course language will start up and will prompt to Allow access, select Allow Future access from this Location by Any Movie and Don t ask again( Allow any Future access by any movie). You are ready to learn! 15. You can also visit and search for shockwave to download the latest version of Shockwave or at If using Internet Explorer.

8 8 1.Login to Rosetta Stone and it will check for the system. Click on the bar above and Select Install Active X Control 2. When prompted on box, Click Run Upon installing Active X Control

9 9 3. If you will be using Speech recognition, it is recommended to download the speech installer, if not, then you can click on Launch Rosetta Stone Without Speech features 4. Click on download speech installer and when prompted to save file, click Run

10 10 5. After selecting run, an Install Shield from Rosetta Stone will pop up, then click Next 6. Click on Install

11 11 7. Once the installation is done, click Finish. Upon completion, click on Check System Again on the main window. 8. For purpose of speech recognition, select the gender for the learning purpose

12 12 9. Choose Language Level and click Continue 10. Microphone setup is prompted on selecting the class. Click on Begin Microphone Setup to install Microphone for use

13 13 Hook up the microphone and click on begin microphone set up. Upon completion, click finish and you re ready! Rosetta Stone FAQ

14 14 Rosetta Stone FAQ: 1. What username and password do I have to use to login to Rosetta Stone? The username is your Easypass login and the password is your Easypass password which by default is Bronc Id # followed by mmdd of your date of birth 2. Why can I not login to Rosetta? You will not be able to login to Rosetta, if your Easypass login does not work. If you have forgotten your Easypass password, contact the Help Desk at for more information 3. What updates do I have to install prior to logging in Rosetta? Rosetta Stone uses the latest shockwave and flash player to be able to run its program for learning. Visit to download the latest Shockwave and Flash player 4. What browser is compatible with Rosetta Stone? Rosetta Stone can be run on both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. It is recommended that required plugin be installed for Mozilla Firefox. 5. Do I have to have microphone to learn from Rosetta Stone? To facilitate the process of learning, Rosetta Stone enabled a feature of listening and speaking. Since it adds to great learning experience, it is recommended to have one. 6. Will there be more languages on Rosetta Stone? Rosetta Stone routinely upgrades its system and does add new languages to it. It is recommended to check with Rosetta Stone webpage periodically to see what languages are introduced. 7. Can Rosetta Stone be accessed from Off Campus? Rosetta Stone can be accessed from Off campus as long as proper credentials are entered to the login page.
