Carr s proposition on the commoditization of IT. The paper with the title In the long run we are all dead is currently under review with the Communications of the ACM. My research framework on Outsourcing Alliances: A Strategic Alternative for IT Capable Companies (with Peter Lane) is approaching the final stage for submission to a top tier IS journal. An early version of the paper was discussed at the Journal of International Business Studies theory development workshop (July 2005). I presented an updated version at AMCIS (August 2005). In both places the study was praised and attendees approached me with suggestions for follow up empirical studies based on the proposed theoretical framework. The paper was accepted for discussion at the ICIS-Journal of AIS theory development workshop (December 2005). My goal is to submit the final version of the manuscript to MIS Quarterly, by January I have compiled a cross sectional and longitudinal data set, that I will use in the study of theoretical and empirical patterns of IT innovation and their implications on firm performance. This is an extension of my study (under review with the Communications of the ACM) on the commoditization of IT. My goal is to have a version ready for submission to ICIS Targeted journal: MIT - Sloan Management Review. I performed the initial literature review and I am currently compiling a data set that I will use to evaluate the role of country specific effects on the competitive performance of companies in the Information Technology industry. I see this work as an extension of my study on outsourcing alliances. My goal is to have a version ready for submission to AMCIS Targeted journal: Technology and Innovation section of the Journal of International Business Studies.

6 T. STRATOPOULOS, PH.D. 6 I have prepared a paper (with P. Dembla) on Business Schools and Nonprofit Organizations: Opportunity for IT Partnership. We presented the paper at DSI (Fall 2004). Currently, based on the feedback from the associate editor, we are re-writing the paper for re-submission to the Journal of AIS. I have prepared a first draft of a grant proposal Strategic IT Indicators for Successful Nonprofits that I am planning to submit for funding through a major organization such as the National Science Foundation. The proposal is an extension of the ideas discussed in my paper Business Schools and Nonprofit Organizations: Opportunity for IT Partnership.
