2 CONCEPT Italy: cradle of design and creativity Brand Italy is the first Made in Italy Trade Fair in Qatar. An itinerary that will give visitors the possibility of discovering Italy through the companies that have made Made in Italy a successful brand. Brand Italy will be hosted at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), from 10 to 12 november 2014 in Doha. Culinary Art excellence, furniture and architectural design, tourist attractions: Italian style presented by those companies that have made its history. An exhibition of excellence giving visitors the opportunity of discovering Italy through its best expressions. For Italian companies it represents a great opportunity to increase the flow of investments in Qatar, meeting the growing demand for Italy especially from a long-term perspective. Doha The first of many editions that will be presented in Qatar and other countries of the Middle East.

3 OPPORTUNITY Qatar: spiraling economic growth Qatar is an emirate in the Middle East. It is located on a small peninsula of the much larger Arabian Peninsula, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and the Kuwait Emirate are located. Qatar borders on the south with Saudi Arabia and is otherwise surrounded by the Gulf. The population of Qatar is more than 1.9 mln, of which only a small part is local. This is a figure that the National Development Strategy was expecting to reach only in 2016: between 2011 and 2012 the population of the Emirate increased by 7.6%. Qatar is an extremely dynamic country thanks to its main economic resource: the world s largest petrol and natural gas deposits. The nominal gross domestic product in 2012 was billion U.S. dollars, corresponding to an average GDP per capita of U.S. $ 100,809 (Source: International Monetary Fund). Doha, the capital, is one of the most vibrant and multicultural cities in the Arab world, and it has been defined as the safest city in the Middle East. In 2022 it will host the World Cup, along with other cities of Qatar, and in view of this important event, a number of projects are already been developed. The per capita income of Qatar is among the highest in the world. Italian companies should think of this country as a strategic market, where Made in Italy, and especially Made in Italy luxury products, can find a space.

4 EXHIBITION Brand Italy: quality makes difference The extraordinary design is the work of famous Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, creator of one of the three skyscrapers of the upcoming Milano City Life, together with Daniel Libeskind and Zaha Hadid. The QNCC structure reminds one of the Sidrat al-muntaha, an Islamic sacred tree symbolizing the end of the seventh heaven, and combines the charm of Qatari architecture with the more avant-garde technology. Brand Italy will be hosted within the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) a state of the art exhibition centre only a few kilometres from Doha International Airport which aspires to be a gateway, a connection to the Arab world. QNCC has 9 large main rooms plus a number of secondary ones covering an area of about 45,000 square meters. It also includes an additional outdoor area of 50,000 square meters. The conference rooms can accommodate up to 4,000 people. The building is designed so as to meet high energy efficiency standards. It has an area of 3,500 square meters of solar panels that provide 12.5 percent of the Centre s energy consumption.

Quality products for every room of the house displayed in a rich variety of style and design solutions, from classical to modern. Companies offering the most innovative solutions for indoor and outdoor sport facilities, equipment and state of the art technologies have the opportunity to start business in Qatar, where, given the proximity of the World Cup, stadiums and sport facilities are being built. 7 ABOUT Brand Italy is organized by L.I. for Exhibition in partnership with the World Trade Center in Qatar. L.I. for Exhibition is a company based in Doha, formed to 51% by Sheikh Thamer Ali Bin Thani to, of the Royal family, and the remaining 49% owned by the Italian partners. The World Trade Center Qatar is a member of the World Trade CentersAssociation based in New York, which includes 300 World Trade Centers in 92 countries. Its main objective is to promote new business opportunities at the international level.
