1 Third Quarter Assurances Comal Independent School District Pre Scope and Sequence The student will examine and describe oscillatory motion and wave propagation in various types of media. 7A The student will investigate and analyze characteristics amplitude, and wavelength. 7B The student will calculate the relationship between wave speed, frequency, and wavelength. 7B The student will compare characteristics and behaviors electromagnetic spectrum. 7C The student will compare waves, including sound 7C The student will investigate behavior of waves, interference, resonance, and the Doppler Effect. 7D The student will describe and predict image formation as a consequence of reflection from a plane mirror and the refraction through a thin convex lens. 7E The student will describe the role of wave characteristics and behaviors in medical and industrial applications. 7F The student will research and describe the historical development of the concepts of gravitational, electromagnetic, weak nuclear, and strong nuclear forces. 5A The student will describe and calculate how the magnitude of the electrical force between two objects depends on their charges and the distance between them. 5C The student will identify examples of electric and magnetic forces in everyday life. 5D The student will characterize materials as conductors or insulators based on their electrical properties. 5E The student will design, construct, and calculate in terms of current through, potential difference across, resistance of, and power used by electric circuit elements connected in both series and parallel circuits. 5F Vocabulary: conservation of energy, transverse wave, longitudinal wave, sound, light, frequency, wavelength, reflection, refraction, diffraction, resonance, Doppler Effect, Electromagnetic Spectrum, electric force, electric field, current, resistance, voltage, electric circuit Page 1 of 5
