Spanish Philosophy Statement: The purpose of the Spanish program is to offer an introduction and exposure to the Spanish language and its cultures through music, games, partner and group activities, audio & visual activities, and cultural art projects. Each year incorporates and expands upon previously introduced material/content. Kindergarten Experience (Once a week for 35 minutes) Grade One Experience (Once a week for 45 minutes) Grade Two Experience (Once a week for 35 minutes) Greeting and Goodbyes, Numbers 1 10, Day of the Dead, Hispanic Christmas Traditions, Colors, Feelings, Asking and telling one s name, Shapes, Animals. Greet and respond to someone while speaking Spanish, Count to and identify numbers to ten in Spanish, Greetings, Numbers, 11 30, Colors, Animals, Hispanic Christmas Traditions, Days of the week, Food and drink, Sentences, Body parts, People, Family. Read and produce Grade One Spanish vocabulary, Discuss traditions from one s own Action verbs, Family, Day of the Dead, Hispanic Christmas Traditions, Classroom objects, Places around town, Transportation, Numbers Read and correctly pronounce Grade Two Spanish vocabulary, Arrange Spanish story sentence
