1 Camp Kindergarten Summer, 2008 You Are Invited to Camp Kindergarten! Camp Kindergarten 2007 in Atlanta was so AWESOME that we are going to offer even more seminars in 2008! Check out the dates and locations below and get your registration forms in early! I ve always thought it would be exciting to have a summer camp for early childhood teachers in a relaxed atmosphere where we could learn, sing, talk, share, and make materials for our classroom. I finally decided to JUST DO IT! I promise you that I m going to do my BEST to make it two of the most meaningful days of your summer! Dr. Jean Where? Gwinnett Convention Center & (Near Atlanta, GA) When? June 12 & 13, 2008 Arlington Convention Center (Near Dallas, TX) June 17 & 18, 2008 Indiana Convention Center (Indianapolis, IN) June 26 & 27 North Tahoe Conference Center (Lake Tahoe, CA) July 24 & 25 Who? What? How? Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade Teachers Workshop descriptions and the agenda for each day are on the following pages. Registration Fee: $279 for Both Days Fill out the attached application form and send it along with your method of payment to the address at the top of the form. Each day you will receive a CD and a 120 page notebook with ideas, patterns, and projects. You will also receive a goodie bag so you can carry home all your projects. (You will receive a certificate for 10 hours of training, but we will not be offering any CEU s.)
2 Morning refreshments will be served; lunch will be on your own. Please bring your own scissors, glue, and markers, as well as 20 sheets of colored construction paper, 4 poster boards, and 10 colored file folders if you wish to stay for the make and take. Totally Reading If we want children to enjoy reading and writing, then we have to provide activities that will capture their interest and motivate them. In this workshop, you ll learn how to replace worksheets with games, books, and activities that will engage students and help them succeed at their own level. You will learn: Meaningful applications from reading research How to sing standards Rhyming and chanting your way to phonological awareness Fun phonics Word wall activities Creative ways to enhance fluency Vocabulary builders Comprehension strategies Blank books to reinforce reading and writing skills How to create a literate environment How to plant a love of reading in children s hearts! You will receive the Totally Reading CD with songs that support skills, plus a 120 page handbook of simple and practical activities and patterns.
