We are so pleased that you have confirmed your acceptance into the program and look forward to the opportunity to work together with you this year. You have been placed in a cohort with four to five other trainees that reflect a diversity of experience in the field of international education. Together as cohort, with the guidance of your coach, you will grow and develop, moving towards your personal goals and those of the Academy. Your coach, Neal McCrillis, will be getting in touch with you in the next few days to set up a time to talk and walk you through the next steps of the process. From this point forward, your coach will be your first point of contact, guiding you through the program. We are asking you to hit the ground running as the first trainee Virtual Training will take place on Thursday, January 23, from 2:30-4:00 p.m. EST. On the Virtual Training, we will discuss the overall Academy program as well as your individualized Learning Plans and the Spring Training taking place at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, GA from March 12-15,. You will receive an early next week with log- in and call- in information for the virtual training. If you indicated on your confirmation form that you would not be available for the virtual training and have not yet contacted Preston Reeves at NAFSA s Professional Learning Services, please do so as soon as possible at prestonr@nafsa.org or In addition, the NAFSA Academy Trainee Welcome Packet is attached to this . It is full of important information and so we ask to you please read through it before the Virtual Training next week. Invoices will be sent to the name and address specified on the Google form in which you confirmed your acceptance into the program. They will be sent out over the course of the next few days.

The Academy accelerates your learning process and prepares you for leadership. It is an investment in your career in international education. 14 ANNUAL CONFERENCE REGIONAL CONFERENCES ADVOCACY ONLINE LEARNING IN-PERSON LEARNING This year-long program is comprised of three training events, complemented by written assignments, regular cohort conference calls, and coaching. The Academy is an introduction to the profession of international education and its major practice areas. The program is flexible and designed to meet your individual needs and learning goals. Who Should Apply to the Academy What Employers Should Know about the Academy Explore the Curriculum Learn about Academy Coaches WHAT DO ACADEMY TRAINEES RECEIVE? The program is developed to provide you with a comprehensive view of international education while allowing you to tailor the program to your own learning needs. All Academy trainees receive: NAFSA membership for up to 18 months. ACADEMY PARTICIPANTS The application period for Class 12 participants is from Monday October 6, to Friday December 5,. On behalf of your Academy coach and leadership, it is my pleasure to welcome you as a trainee to the NAFSA Academy for International Education Class 11. This year there was an overwhelming level of interest in the Academy. Forty international educators volunteered to carefully review the 123 applications which were received. The Academy asks that you come prepared to challenge yourself, support your fellow trainees, and to contribute wholeheartedly to the program. The Academy is a unique opportunity to develop both your personal and professional capacities as an international educator; we look forward to supporting and coaching you through the Academy experience. Please take time to carefully review the orientation documents enclosed. If you have any questions, feel free to contact your coach. An invoice will be ed to you/your Institution upon receiving your participation confirmation letter. Your payment for the $1,899 program fee must be received by NAFSA within 30 days of your receipt of the invoice. Note: This payment is required to hold your place in the program. Please also plan to participate in a virtual training for all trainees 2:30 4:00 PM Eastern on Thursday, January 23,. Details regarding this orientation will follow.
