5 Pharmaserv Versin Intrductin The Pharmaserv GR release cntains enhancements t several mdules within Pharmaserv. Highlights f this release include: Enhanced e-prescribing functinality t include supprt fr cntrlled substance e-prescriptins (EPCS). Tw new reprts (EPCS Audit reprt and EPCS Incident reprt) and mdificatins t existing reprts t identify electrnic cntrlled substances. Miscellaneus Pharmaserv enhancements including the preservatin f auxiliary label data and the mdificatin f Interactive Vice Respnse (IVR) interface t recgnize valid Rxs that were currently DC d. Updates t Supply Management including Inventry Imprt windw enhancements and imprved item matching. Enhancements t Pharmaserv t supprt the Pharmaserv Specialty initiative. 6 Rx Prcessing General Updates The fllwing general updates and mdificatins have been included in Rx Prcessing fr versin Electrnic Prescribing Cntrlled Substance (EPCS) Pharmaserv e-prescribing functinality (nw versined as Pharmaserv e-prescribing 7.1) has been enhanced t include supprt fr cntrlled substance e-prescriptins. New Rx messages and refill respnse messages can nw include cntrlled substance items. Rx Transfers are nt allwed fr EPCS Rxs. NOTE: T use EPCS, yu must be using Surescripts 10.6 and Surescripts 4.4 Prescriber Directries. Yur prescriber s sftware must be certified with Surescripts t submit EPCS Rxs t yur pharmacy. If yu have any questins regarding state regulatins and EPCS, please cntact yur state regulatry rganizatin. Optins added t the e-prescribing Status Filter Optins Windw The fllwing ptins have been added t the Status Grup bx: CS Apprved enables yu t display cntrlled substances Rx requests that have been received and apprved. CS Denied enables yu t display cntrlled substance Rx requests that were received and denied. CS Errr enables yu t display cntrlled substance Rx requests that were received with errrs. DEA Schedule Field Added A DEA Schedule field has been added t the fllwing places in Rx Prcessing, displaying the cde and descriptin f the DEA schedule received. Drug Tab n the e-prescribing Status and e-prescribing Summary windws e-prescriptin Standard (8.5x11) and Shrt (6x4) frmat reprts. e-prescriber Maintenance Windw The fllwing enhancements have been made t the e-prescriber Maintenance windw: The Refill Request ptin has been mved belw the New Rx ptin. A new EPCS ptin has been added belw the Refill Request ptin. This check bx indicates if the prescriber s service level includes cntrlled substances as reprted by Surescripts. Item Maintenance Windw The fllwing check bxes have been added t the Item Maintenance windw: NADEAN Required enables yu t indicate whether a Narctics Addictin DEA Number (NADEAN) is required when the item is dispensed. Reasn fr GHB Required enables yu t indicate whether a Gamma Hydrxybutyric Acid (GHB) reasn is required when the item is dispensed. These check bxes are enabled nly fr cntrlled substance items. 7 GHB/DATI Windw A new GHB/DATI windw is available enabling yu t enter, edit, r view Gamma Hydrxbutyric Acid reasn and Drug Abuse Treatment Identificatin infrmatin fr the Rx. This windw is accessed by clicking the new GHB / DATI cmmand buttn frm the New Rx, Refill, and Rx Maint Summary windws. e-prescribing Status Windw and e-prescribing Summary Windw Enhancements The title f the Prescriber Nte field n the Drug tab has been changed t Nte n bth windws t mre accurately describe the field as ntes frm the pharmacy that can be eched (sent) back in this field in a refill respnse message. The Transmissin tab has been added t the e-prescribing Summary windw, enabling yu t view message data. e-prescriptin Reprt Changes The fllwing statement displays n bth the e-prescriptin Standard (8.5x11) and Shrt (6x4) frmat reprts when the Rx is determined t be an EPCS Rx: Cpy Only Nt Valid fr Dispensing. The title f the Prescriber Nte field has been changed t Nte n the e- Prescriptin Standard (8.5x11) reprt t mre accurately describe the field as ntes frm the pharmacy can be eched (sent) back in this field in a refill respnse message Data Retentin Pharmaserv will nw retain all prescriptin data fr cntrlled substances fr a minimum f tw years. Purge Prcess T accmmdate EPCS prescriptin infrmatin, the purge prcess has been changed t prevent the purging f data less than tw years ld. The Purge Data Prir T field n the Purge windw has been changed t prevent yu frm entering a date less than tw years prir t the current system date. Pharmaserv Miscellaneus Auxiliary Label Data Preserved Any data displaying in the Aux Label Optins area n the Label and Bill Optins windw will nw be saved fr the field when the Rx is saved. This infrmatin displays when refilling r saving changes t the Rx and will display fr the next dispense. Interactive Vice Respnse (IVR) Interface Update fr DC d Rxs The IVR interface nw recgnizes active Rxs fr available refills even if the Rx was nce in a DC (Discntinued) status. Previusly if an Rx was ever assigned a discntinued date, the system did nt assign an active status t the Rx and it was unavailable fr refills. McKessn Pharmacy Systems Page 7 f 12

The fllwing changes have been made t Pharmaserv t supprt the Pharmaserv Specialty initiative: Item Maintenance Windw Enhancements A Specialty grup bx has been added t the Defaults grup bx n the Item Summary windw, cntaining the fllwing check bxes: Specialty enables yu t indicate the item is a Specialty Pharmacy item. Limited Distributin enables yu t indicate that the Specialty item is a limited distributin item. 9 Pharmaserv Administratin General Updates Preference Windw Business Tab An EPCS grup bx and a display-nly EPCS Mnitring and Reprting field have been added t the Business tab n the Preferences windw. New Fields Added t View Rx Windw Reasn fr GHB and NADEAN fields have been added t the View Rx windw enabling yu t view whether this infrmatin is required when the item is dispensed e-rx Windw Enhancements The title f the Prescriber Nte field has been changed t Nte t mre accurately describe the field as ntes frm the pharmacy can be eched (sent) back in this field in a refill respnse message. 11 Supply Management General Updates Inventry Imprt Windw Enhancements The fllwing changes have been made t the Inventry Imprt windw: The Dse and Package radi buttns have been mved and are nw lcated directly belw the Add t and Replace radi buttns in the Inventry Imprt grup bx. An unlabeled drp-dwn list has been added belw the Handheld Device ptin. This ptin enables yu t select the prduct identifier (NDC, Prduct Number, r UPC) when dwnlading Telxn inventry data. Imprved Item Matching McKessn Item Maintenance File prcessing is enhanced t enable better item matching when adding items t Pharmaserv via acknwledgements and invices and when dwnlading inventry files frm the handheld device. 12 Reprt Manager The fllwing changes and additins have been made t reprts available in Reprt Manager. T view samples f these r any reprts, see the Reprt Manager nline Help file. The fllwing new reprts have been added t the Pharmaserv Audit Trail directry: The EPCS Audit reprt displays EPCS audit events created and stred daily assciated with EPCS functinality. The EPCS Incident reprt displays EPCS incident audit events created and stred daily assciated with EPCS functinality. NOTE: All incidents must be reprted t the DEA within 24 hurs f discvery. The fllwing changes have been made t the Rx Cntrl Sub Reg-Brief, Rx Cntrl Sub-Reg Landscape, and Rx Cntrl Sub Reg-Prtrait reprts: An indicatr (e-) has been added befre the Rx number t signify the Rx is an e-prescriptin. A new Prescriptin Type filter has been added t filter the reprt by e- prescriptin. The fllwing changes have been made t the e-prescribing Summary reprt: An indicatr has been added befre the Rx # t signify the Rx is On Hld (H), Prfile (P), r Deleted (D). A new Cntrlled Substance filter ptin is available. An indicatr (CS) has been added after the Rx # t signify the Rx is a cntrlled substance. The fllwing changes have been made t the Item Listing Detail reprt: Tw new fields Specialty and Specialty Limited Distributin have been added t the reprt. Yes displays n the reprt if the ptin is selected fr the item, N if it has nt been selected fr the item.
