2 Membership Information Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club is one of the only true country clubs on Vancouver Island. Founded in 1965, Glen Meadows includes an 18-hole championship golf course, six sheets of curling ice, three colourcoated, night illuminated tennis courts and a clubhouse with full amenities. Surrounded by picturesque mountains, majestic Garry Oak trees and located twenty minutes north of Victoria in Sidney, Glen Meadows is ideal for green fee players and members alike. There are four sets of tees on the course to accommodate all levels of play challenging for experienced golfers and suitable for those new to the game. A full size driving range, practice sand trap and putting green neighbour the Rae Criddle Memorial Fountain. As a semi-private club Glen Meadows is open to the public daily for golf, tennis, breakfast and lunch. Club members receive preferred booking privileges with unlimited use of the course. As a member, you are welcome to participate in all club events, such as the popular Men s Stag on Thursday afternoons, the Ladies Stag on Fridays, the Ladies Day on Tuesday mornings, the Senior Men s League on Wednesday mornings, and the Business Ladies on Saturday mornings. Throughout the summer members are also encouraged to participate in our evening restaurant specials Sunday through Friday. Many enjoy curling during the winter months from October to March. The mixed Bridge on Thursday evenings and the Ladies Bridge on Tuesday mornings are also popular during the winter months. A membership at Glen Meadows offers you reciprocal rates at 16 golf courses including Uplands, Gorge Vale, Olympic View, Arbutus Ridge, Cowichan, Fairwinds and Chilliwack Golf Club. We welcome guests of members and offer them a reduced green fee rate when playing with one of our members. Full use of the tennis courts is also included with your membership. The Pro Shop takes pride in its full line of clothing and quality golf equipment. Glen Meadows logo clothing is available at competitive prices. Our CPGA Professional Robin Hutchinson is happy to give lessons to anyone wanting help with their game. Club storage, gift certificates, power cart passes and driving range passes may be arranged through the Pro Shop. After your game you are welcome to enjoy a refreshment from our selection of local wines and beers in the bar lounge or on one of the two outdoor decks overlooking the golf course or tennis courts. The clubhouse also consists of a coffee shop, a curling lounge, a dining room, full banquet facilities and men s and ladies locker rooms complete with showers and saunas. 6 DRESS CODE All golfers must adhere to the dress code. Members are responsible to ensure they and their guests are appropriately dressed. Track pants or other types of gym wear are not permitted. Rugby pants, cutoffs, athletic shorts, jam shorts, sweat pants, tank tops, undershirts, athletic tops, team jerseys, clothing with cartoon or commercial graphics are not permitted on the golf course or in the clubhouse. Appropriate golf footwear must be worn on the golf course. No metal spikes are permitted from May 1 st to October 1 st. Clean soft spikes and running shoes are permitted in the clubhouse. Men s Dress Code Golf Slacks, jeans as long as they are neat and tidy, and mid-thigh length tailored shorts are permitted. Shirts must be collared with sleeves and neat in appearance. Ladies Dress Code Slacks, jeans as long as they are neat and tidy, and mid-thigh length skirts and tailored shorts are permitted. Collared shirts or blouses, turtlenecks, fashion collars, crew and U collars are permitted. Tops must have either sleeves or a collar.
