We have a lot in store for the 2016 summer including all new family fun events, teen parties and parent s night out opportunities. We will be making significant changes to the pool to enhance our members experience. In 2016, Blythefield will be your summer oasis and home away from home! This youth sports packet is your summer survival guide, allowing you to take advantage of all the fun. There are new times for swim, dive and tennis, which are all listed on a convenient insert within this packet. I highly encourage all families to have their children participate in youth sports as well as attend all events. You will not want to miss out on all of the summer fun at Blythefield! Swimsuits will be available to try on for sizing. New this year, we are offering an online Blythefield clothing shop. Browse and submit your order all online. 2 PAGE 2 YOUTH GOLF Youth Play Days Along with instruction, your children will have more opportunities to play on the golf course. Our 2016 Youth Golf Program has concrete dates, and we believe having a more structured schedule will provide an exceptional experience for our Youth Golfers. Each, players will have a half hour of instruction, followed by play on the course. Golfers will be able to sign up for four divisions: 18 holes, 9 holes, 5 holes and 3 holes. The children that sign up for 5 hole and 3 hole divisions require a parent or guardian to accompany each group on the golf course. For just $ per player you can get 4 hours of instruction and 8 play dates, not to mention an awesome tee gift! 2016 PGA Junior League PGA Junior League is available to children of all abilities, ages Juniors must be able to carry their own golf bag and have a basic knowledge of the rules of golf. Blythefield CC is in the same league as Egypt Valley, Kent and Cascade. Each facility will host multiple matches, which gives your children a great opportunity to play the surrounding golf courses. 3 PAGE 35 BCC TENNIS Tennis superstars Alex and Bailey Palladino are returning as the Directors of Tennis for the 2016 season. Blythefield children ages 4-16 are encouraged to join tennis lessons. Our competitive team is offered to those with a high level of energy, focus and tennis skill. We aim to increase the participation of our competitive group, so if you think you child would enjoy the competitive team let us know! Practice is on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting on Monday, June 20 - Thursday, July 28. $100 per child. 4 PAGE 4 BCC SWIM & DIVE Mission Statement: We will combine our passion for swimming and qualified instructors to provide a fun and safe swimming environment for our members. We will excel in teaching water safety, beginner swim survival, proper stroke technique, beginner racing practice and overall a life changing experience for all kids. We will provide your little ones with a safe environment to learn swim survival skills and the necessary technique for proper swimming. We teach competitive swimmers the proper stroke form, while keeping a friendly and fun environment. Children ages 4-16 are welcome to join the BCC swim and dive program. Practice is on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday starting on Monday, June 20. through Thursday, July 28. $100 per child (swimsuit and swim cap included in price). 5 PAGE 5 SWIM TEAM BREAKDOWN New this year we have created a feeder program for our swim team. This new program will include skill builders for each level. Each swimmer will be evaluated based on ability, then split into one of three groups (Eel, Starfish and Dolphin). Each group will have their own lane with a specific instructor to ensure proper education and supervision. This new program will help each swimmer progress throughout the summer and eventually be able to successfully compete in swim meets. Throughout the summer we will re-evaluate the swimmers with time trials and distance markers to track your child s progress. SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM SAME GREAT PRICE, ONE EXTRA DAY! For just $99 per person you can enjoy weeks of worry free lunch! During the youth sports season we set up a lunch buffet at the pool. The menu will rotate, limiting repeated meals. Each daily buffet will include a salad bar, fresh fruit and vegetable options and mouth watering main course. The buffet is kid friendly and babysitters or nannies are welcome to enjoy too! The pool party will occur after the Youth Sports banquet and sleepover to follow. BLYTHEFIELD S FIRST CARDBOARD DERBY WILL OCCUR DURING THE POOL PARTY. Make sure to spend all summer crafting the perfect cardboard boat! Teen Trip to Cedar Point This summer we will be joined by Cascade CC and Kent CC on our teen trip to Cedar Point. In the event of a practice cancelation you will receive an to determine if practice is canceled or postponed. We will also post directly to Facebook. If the weather looks like it will clear up we will make cancelations based on age group times. If there is a storm and the pool is closed on a day of youth sports, the lunch buffet will still be available down at the pool during scheduled hours (11:00am - 2:00pm).
