We will have multiple hickory play divisions for gross and net winners plus a special two-player best ball event running both days. Lots of awards, fun and food! Tournament Format(s) We will be using Pre-1935 period-approved equipment. It will be a two-day (Sat & Sun) medal-score format (gross & net) for each of our divisions. PLUS We will conduct a Two-Player Best Ball (gross & net) over the two-day event. So sign up with a partner or just let us know if you need a partner. Lots of Awards and Plenty of Fun!

2 Tournament Divisions & Awards: We will have the following divisions of play: Championship Division: Age 59 and Under, Gross and Net Senior Division: Age 60 and Over, Gross and Net New To Hickory Division: Any Age, Gross and Net (see explanation below) Ladies Division: Any Age, Gross and Net Note: In each division there will be gross and net winners. Awards will be presented for 1 st and 2 nd places. Overall 1 st Place Low Gross in the Championship Division will be recognized as the AZ Desert Hickory Champion. Note: The number of entries in the Ladies Division will determine the number of awards presented. Players may chose to play in a lower age division than their age indicates, however you must choose your division of play on the entry form. Handicap Index Each player will need to supply their hcp index on their entry form. If you have a Hickory HCP Index from the Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG) or another USGA system, please provide. All other players that do not have a Hickory HCP Index will need to use their Modern HCP Index. All players that are New To Hickory will compete against other New to Hickory players using their Modern HCP index, plus they will have the opportunity to compete against the Hickory Player field. This provides a fair basis for competition and opportunities to win. Note If you do not have an established hcp index, please indicate this on your entry and the tournament director will discuss this with you. All hcp indexes will be updated prior to the start of the tournament. Equipment: Whether original or replica, must have full wooden shafts, All modern balls are allowed. (See SoHG Golf Club Equipment Standards) Club rentals can be arranged please request on your entry form Recommended Golfing Attire: Period clothing is encouraged, though not required. At many hickory gatherings, players are welcome to wear knickers, plus-2ʼs & 4ʼs, period caps and boater style hats, ties and vests etc. A vintage look adds lots of fun. If you are new to hickory and looking for ideas on period dress, please view the Society of Hickory Golfers web site. You will find many ideas, and there are many sources on-line to find knickers, etc. No ball caps please. Golfers should only wear soft-spike shoes (no metal spikes allowed) Gloves of any type are allowed. Travel and Room Accommodations: If you will be traveling to the area to play, we have a block of 15 rooms reserved (first come first served). IMPORTANT If you are new to hickory or trying hickory golf for the first time and do not have a hickory hcp, please provide your modern hcp AND you will play in the New To Hickory Division. Therefore competing against New to Hickory players plus the field, giving you a fair basis for competition. 5 Equipment Guidelines It is the responsibility of each applicant to ensure that his/her equipment complies with SoHG equipment standards. A copy of these standards can be found at: Penalty for non-compliance is disqualification. If you need assistance with your approved Pre-1935 equipment or have questions, please feel welcome to contact Ken Holtz , k.holtz2530@gmail.com IMPORTANT: In the case of a full field, priority of entrants will be determined by the order of entry date and fees paid. The tournament committee reserves the right to change, add or remove categories / fields of play based upon number of applications received. Your entry indicates your permission for the use of your likeness in photos and video for promotional and informational use by the tournament. Hickories Trade, Buy & Sell We will have a Hickory Trade Show the afternoon of Saturday February 16 th, right after golf between 2:30 pm and 5 pm. These tables will be set up right at the golf course for players, visitors and Los Caballeros Golf Club members.
