2 TREGNAN GOLF ACADEMY At Coolidge in Griffith Park GENERAL INFORMATION Tregnan Golf Academy is a state-of-the-art training and practice golf facility operated by the City of Los Angeles. Tregnan s mission is to provide youth with the best golf instruction and training opportunities available in a safe and comfortable environment. The Academy offers a wide variety of programming with a focus on reaching out to youth who have had little or no exposure to the game of golf. All participants receive professional instruction, knowledge of rules, etiquette, safety, proper use of equipment, and development of golf skills. ACADEMY MEMBERSHIP Students who register and complete 70% of scheduled classes receive Academy membership. Members receive discount on play at the Academy and priority registration (maximum of 4 sessions). OPEN PRACTICE TIME Academy members may use the facility to practice when supervised by an adult. Adults may use the Academy practice areas when accompanying a youth member. Some areas may not be available for practice during Open Practice Time. There is no Open Practice Time while classes are in session. MEMBER RATES Practice Areas $3.00 Bucket of Balls $3.00 Club Rental $2.00 OPEN PRACTICE HOURS Monday Friday: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Saturday: No Open Play Sunday: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm ACADEMY RULES AND REGULATIONS Children 13 years of age and younger must have adult supervision at all times when not directly involved in a class or event. At the conclusion of each class, children must be picked up promptly or have appropriate supervision. A fee of $5.00 will be charged for every 15 minutes a child is left without appropriate supervision. Authorities will be notified for any child left unsupervised for 30 minutes or more. LPGA-USGA GIRLS GOLF CLUB, Los Angeles The Tregnan Golf Academy is the official site of the Los Angeles LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Club. The GGC is the only national initiative of its kind established for girls. This developmental junior golf program encourages girls ages 7-17 to learn to play golf in a competitive setting. This is an opportunity for young girls to gain friendships and sample competition in a positive, fun, and non-threatening environment. Classes are held with an instructor on the golf course. Child must have approval of Director of Instruction before enrolling. JUNIOR TOUR AT HARDING These classes are for players ready for Championship courses. Harding Golf Course is located at 4730 Crystal Springs Dr., Los Angeles. Class ID Day Time Start Weeks Fee 1276 Tuesday 3:45 pm - 5:45 pm Aug 16 9 $ Thursday 3:45 pm - 5:45 pm Aug 18 9 $85 TREGNAN WEEKLY CHALLENGE The Tregnan Weekly Challenge is a competitive activity held in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Challenges are held on Saturdays starting at 2:30 pm and consists of 9 holes, stroke play. The player with the lowest score for the 9 holes takes home the Challenge Ribbon for the week. Any player winning the Challenge for 3 consecutive weeks will receive a special Challenge Trophy. Sign-up by calling the Academy after 8 am on Saturday mornings. LOS FELIZ DIVISION: Limited to first 24 participants Equipment from Tregnan is available with prior arrangements Cost: $10.00 ROOSEVELT DIVISION: Limited to first 12 participants Ages: 10 to 17 Must have own equipment Must be able to keep opponent s score Cost: $15.00
6 Class Description Late Summer 2016 Classes begin the week of August 12 and end October 17, 2016 No Classes: September 2, 3, 4, 5 RECREATION CENTER GOLF Part of the Academy s mission is to reach under-served youth age 7 to 17 who have limited access to golf programs. By providing discounted registration fees and transportation from City of Los Angeles Recreation Centers, we are able to assist young golfers by developing self-esteem and strong interpersonal skills. Scholarships are available. Child must be at least 6 years old. Sessions are limited to first 10 pairs to register. All classes are held at the Academy on Sundays. 8 End of Session Tournaments The Academy will host three end of session tournaments. Current membership card must be presented to register. Trophies will be awarded for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place finishers in each flight. Flights are determined by staff and based on the number of tournament entries. Registration for tournaments will begin Sunday, September 25, 2016, at 10:00 am. GIRLS GOLF CLUB TOURNAMENT Entry Fee $10 The Girls Golf Club Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Los Feliz Golf Course. This tournament is limited to the first 24 members to register. The first tee time will be at 2:30 pm. Participants will be notified with actual tee time by Thursday afternoon. 9-HOLE TOURNAMENT Entry Fee $10 The 9-Hole Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Los Feliz Golf Course. This tournament is limited to the first 48 members to register. The first tee time will be at 2:30 pm. Participants will be notified with actual tee time by Thursday afternoon. JUNIOR EXECUTIVE TOURNAMENT Entry Fee $15 The Junior Executive Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Roosevelt Golf Course. Academy members must be able to shoot double bogie on an executive course to participate. Director of Instruction will have final approval of junior s participation based on skill, etiquette, and rules knowledge. The first tee time will be at 2:30 pm. Participants will be notified with actual tee time by Thursday afternoon.

The dress code must be respected during all classes, clinics, camps, and while participating in program sponsored events. Shirts: Pants: Caps: Collared shirt, tucked in (no tank tops or t-shirts) Slacks or jeans (no jeans at competitive events) Shorts must be knee length (no cutoffs, spandex, or gym shorts) All caps and visors must be worn bill forward
10 How to Register for Classes OPEN ENROLLMENT LITTLE LINKSTERS PRO LINKSTERS ACADEMY MEMBERS Registration for past Academy Members will begin at 8:30 am on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Tregnan Golf Academy. Registration is first-come, first-served, for available spots. Applications will also be accepted for IMMEDIATE family members. NEW GOLFERS Registration will begin at 8:30 am on Sunday, July 17, 2016, at Tregnan Golf Academy. Registration is firstcome, first-served, for available spots. Registration will continue until classes are full. RECREATION CENTER GOLF FAMILY GOLF JUNIOR TOUR SENIOR GOLF MOM S DAY OUT HOLIDAY TOURNAMENTS Interested participants can MAIL or WALK IN a completed application and payment to the Academy. Applications will be accepted beginning: July 17, 2016 Recreation Center Golf, Family Golf, Seniors and Moms Classes July 25, 2016 Junior Tours September 25, 2016 End of Late Summer Session Tournaments Registration will continue until classes are full. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis from daily mail deliveries and walk-ins. GENERAL REGISTRATION GUIDELINES Credit cards are accepted at the Academy. Please make checks payable to the City of Los Angeles. Any check not honored by the bank will be charged a $35 handling fee if check is redeemed within 30 days. After 30 days, it will be subject to a fee equal to three (3) times the original amount. Said fee shall not be less than $100 nor more than $500. Section Los Angeles Municipal Code, Section 1719 California Civil Code. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. Class refund (a $10 non-refundable administration fee will apply), may be issued up to the first day of instruction. Thereafter, only class credit will be issued at the discretion of the Facility Director. A separate application is required for each child/class. When classes are full, your child will be placed on a waiting list for the class of choice. Tregnan Golf Academy reserves the right to modify or cancel classes based on the number of applications received.
