Located close to the CBD and within The University of Sydney Camperdown/Darlington campus, the Seymour Centre is the perfect venue for any event. Spacious, modern architecture, fi rst class catering, extensive sound, lighting and audiovisual equipment, Wi-Fi access available in every space, dedicated car park and good accessibility are just a few of the features we offer. Our fl exible spaces can be tailored to suit your needs, whether you are after a private room for 10 guests or a theatre that holds over 700. The Seymour Centre is ideal for a variety of events including; performing arts, conferences, product launches, graduations, fi lm shoots, lectures, AGMs, community and festival events. 3 YORK THEATRE The York Theatre is the largest theatre in the Seymour Centre, seating 781 in a semi-circular amphitheatre configuration, featuring a thrust stage. The space is ideally suited to the presentation of theatre works, but can easily accommodate music, dance or concert style performances. With only 12 rows of seating from the back of the auditorium to the stage, the theatre offers an exceptional rapport between performers and audience. 4 EVEREST THEATRE The Everest Theatre is a fl exible theatre seating in a traditional proscenium style. Incorporating acoustic features to provide optimum sound quality, as well as a removable forestage that can vary the stage depth by over six metres, the Everest can be used for music, dance and theatre performances. It is also an ideal venue for conferences, seminars and fi lm-screenings. The Everest Theatre has a standard capacity of 513 seats but other seating confi gurations are possible upon enquiry. CAPACITY: STYLE: Proscenium arch, raked seating, removable forestage. 5 REGINALD THEATRE The Reginald Theatre is a small informal studio theatre that holds 153 people. With fi xed raked seating that can be supplemented by additional seating in front of the stage area, this space is ideal for theatre and dance performances. Affordable hire rates make it an ideal venue for smaller companies to present new work or launches. 6 SOUND LOUNGE The Sound Lounge features a high quality sound system, fi xed lighting grid, and small stage. As well as being a superb music venue, the Sound Lounge is also ideally suited for cabaret performance and comedy, as well as seminars, small theatre productions and private cocktail functions. A fully licenced bar with light refreshments is available for the exclusive use by Sound Lounge audiences, making it the perfect place to enjoy live music or events. 7 FOYERS & COURTYARD FOYER SPACES The foyer spaces have proven to be very adaptable for spectacularly designed parties and arts exhibitions. The spaces are also perfect for situations where a pre-show event leads into an audience showing in one of our diverse theatres. CAPACITY: Up to 800 depending on event style STYLE: Adaptable spaces that can be tailored to event needs USES: Pre or post show events, catering, art exhibitions, cocktail receptions, breakout space, corporate events. The Seymour not only houses theatres, but a range of large foyer spaces and a spacious courtyard. The upstairs Everest foyer has an expansive bar and this large space can be combined with the York foyer to fi t hundreds of guests for corporate functions and events. COURTYARD With its big trees, fairy lights and colourful tables and chairs, the Seymour courtyard is also a perfect festival, music and general entertainment space. It s the ideal space to plan a grand downstairs entrance, leading through the courtyard, glass doors and up the large staircase into the foyer. A gourmet BBQ and special outdoor bar can be available throughout the year for guests to enjoy in our leafy enclosed courtyard area. 8 BOARDROOM CAPACITY: 15 seated, 30 standing Formal meeting room or intimate reception space. Close proximity to both large theatres, perfect for VIPs. STUDIOS, DRESSING ROOMS & BOARD ROOM STUDIOS CAPACITY: Three dance-style studios, sprung wooden fl oors. Rehearsal rooms, conference breakout space, training workshops. The Seymour Centre has training and rehearsal spaces available at competitive rates. All studios have a sprung wooden fl oor, one wall of mirrors and air conditioning with individual controls. Studios come with a piano, two tables and fi fteen chairs. Studio 1 and 2 also feature a ballet barre on two walls. Additional dressing rooms are available on request.
