2 GCC INTERIOR CONTRACTING AND FIT-OUT MARKET GROWS 87% IN 2012; SECTOR VALUE HIGHEST SINCE 2008 AT US$9.4BN TO MEET MARKET DEMANDS, INDEX INTERNATIONAL DESIGN EXHIBITION CONFIRMED FOR MAY 2013 The overall GCC interior contracting and fit-out market has increased in value from US$5.04bn in 2011 to US$9.4bn in 2012, representing 86.51% increase The interior contracting and fit-out market for the GCC s residential sector is set to increase in value from US$1.99bn in 2011 to US$3.7bn in 2012 [85.93% increase], accounting for 39% of the overall GCC interior contracting and fit-out market The UAE remains the GCC s market leader in relation to the value of the interior contracting and fit-out market for both the residential and commercial sectors, valued at US$1.684bn and US$739m respectively More budget (22.5% of total project costs) is allocated to interior contracting and fit-out projects in the hospitality sector than in any other sector within the GCC s building construction industry
