T he resu lts indicated that A SV 2GT and GC w ere con tro lled by seed direct genetic effects, m aternal genetic effects as w ell as by cytop lasm ic effectṡ T he seed direct genetic and cytop lasm ic effects w ere m o re im po rtan t than the m aternal genetic effects, and seed direct additive effects con stitu ted a m ajo r part of their genetic effectṡ T he heritab ilities of seed direct effects and cytop lasm ic effects of A SV 2 GT and GC w ere all h igh ly sign ifican ṫ T he estim ate value of heritab ility of cytop lasm ic effects w as h igh fo r A SV 2GT, w h ile that of seed direct effect w as h igh fo r GC. T herefo re, m o re atten tion shou ld be paid to the single p lan t selection and single grain selection based on the seed GC and A SV 2GT of hyb rid offsp ring.
