1 WSAA Civil Assets Workshop Draft AGENDA Melbourne 6 th 7 th November 2014 Chair Convener Coordinator Workshop subject/ outline Water Corporation Coliban Water Jaimie Hicks WSAA Theme Asset Management The 10th workshop of the Civil Assets will focus on: Actions from Workshop #9 Using your Asset Management Information System (AMIS) Innovation The theme for this network meeting is utilizing information from our Asset Management Information Systems (AMIS) to enhance our ability to make optimal Asset management decisions. AMIS administrators are encouraged to join us on Day 1 of this workshop. Theme Day 2 will be focused on innovative activities of interest to all CAN members, critical spares and setting up for CAN #10. Please come prepared to share your knowledge in this area via discussions, presentations or documentation. About the The network generally has the responsibility to consider any Civil Assets matter of strategic significance to the Australian and New Zealand urban water industry that has the endorsement of the Asset Management Committee acting on behalf of the WSAA Board. The key functions of the network are to: Facilitate continuous improvement by sharing best civil assets practices and information on industry performance and development of appropriate guidelines. Identify Civil Assets trends and both current and emerging areas of risk related to Civil Assets together with strategies for mitigation. Identify appropriate benchmarking indicators to provide information on past performance and emerging trends. Liaise with the Asset Management program leaders and coordinators to set priorities for research projects that need to be undertaken and prepare proposals for consideration as part of the normal WSAA business cycle. Undertake standardisation of practices, procedures, specifications and standards

2 where there is a demonstrable benefit to the urban water industry. Facilitate liaison between the urban water industry and manufacturers/suppliers of civil related equipment and items and encourage sharing of this information. Provide specialist advice to the OHS network on relevant Civil Assets health and safety issues. Influence and participate in the development of appropriate specialist education and training. Provide specialist advice and peer review for WSAA Codes and product appraisals with respect to asset management of civil equipment and items. Provide representation on relevant Standards Australia committees.
