This workshop will explore how to use a reflective practice paradigm in supervision to increase worker capacity and improve the outcomes for vulnerable children. Why attend this workshop? This workshop will focus on building organisational capacity through innovation and effective implementation. Why attend this workshop? She is a trained trauma therapist and an accredited mental health social worker. She has a passion for exploring and studying comprehensive bodies of knowledge. Mary Jo has presented at national and international conferences and published in professional journals on her work. She has written numerous training programmes and practitioners manuals for social services and charitable organisations in Australia. She was a NSW Woman of the Year award nominee in 2010 for her work with children and adults traumatised by abuse. Director of Policy, Research and Development British Association for Adoption and Fostering John Simmonds is the Director of Policy, Research and Development at the British Association for Adoption and Fostering. Before starting at BAAF in 2000, he was head of the social work programmes at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He is a qualified social worker and has substantial experience in child protection, family placement and residential care settings. He is currently responsible for BAAF s contribution to the development of policy and practice in social work, health, the law and research. John has published widely including editing with Gillian Schofield the Child Placement Handbook and Good Practice Guidance on Special Guardianship, both published by BAAF.
