2 SCOPE AND TECHNICAL CONTENT OF THE SEMINAR The Severe Accident Research Network of Excellence SARNET ( coordinated by IRSN (France), is organizing ERMSAR 2012 (European Review Meeting on Severe Accident Research) at the NH Hotel Mediapark in the centre of Cologne (Germany), hosted by GRS. This seminar aims at presenting the current status of R&D on Severe Accidents both in Europe and elsewhere, as an open conference. Therefore, besides the presentations of current work by SARNET members in the network Joint Programme of Activities, non-sarnet organizations are invited to contribute through papers and presentations to the seminar (note that the SARNET members can also present Severe Accident individual work conducted outside of the Joint Programme of Activities). The four previous ERMSAR seminars, from 2005 to 2010, provided insights on the network activities and in particular on the Severe Accident research priorities established in The global objective of this 5 th seminar will be to present the recent progress of international knowledge on Severe Accidents, including the work done within the network in the last two years. It will also be an opportunity to discuss future R&D priorities on Severe Accidents and in particular how the feedback of the Fukushima accident can be taken into account. A preliminary programme of the seminar will be posted on the network web site in October ORGANIZING COMMITTEE The SARNET Management and GRS team is in charge of the preparation of the seminar technical content, the organization of the seminar and the preparation of the summary record. The deadline for abstracts is September 16, 2011 and for draft papers November 30, The Editorial Instructions for the papers will be available later on the network web site ( REGISTRATION A registration fee is required for participants: 160 for participants from SARNET partners and 320 from organizations out of SARNET. A Registration Form, including information about accommodation, is attached to this announcement and also posted on the network web site. LANGUAGE OF THE SEMINAR AND PROCEEDINGS The official language of the seminar will be English. A USB stick containing all papers will be compiled and distributed at the seminar.
