Attractions such as Cologne Cathedral, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the city's 12 Romanesque churches leave an unforgettable impression on visitors. In addition, this cathedral city has a large number of museums and art galleries which organize a wide variety of exhibitions devoted to the city's history as well as modern and contemporary art. Thanks to its shopping streets, narrow alleys in the traditional city centre, and unique flair, Cologne is one of Germany's most popular cities for shopping. Another big draw is Cologne's unusually lively nightlife. After all, Cologne has more pubs per capita than any other major city in Germany. Please program "Erftstrasse" into your navigation device and then follow the signs to the Mediapark parking garage. From A3 Motorway (toward Frankfurt): Proceed on the Leverkusen motorway interchange onto the A1 toward Cologne. From the A1, switch to the A57 toward Cologne City Center. Continue on the A57 until it ends, then bear right toward the city center. At the first set of traffic lights, turn left. Proceed until you enter the MediaPark garage. You will find Mediapark parking garage entrance on the left. From A3 Motorway (toward Oberhausen): Stay on the A3 until the Cologne-East (Köln-Ost) motorway interchange. Exit onto the B55a in the direction of Cologne City Center. Follow the B55a for about five kilometers before crossing the Rhine River on the Zoobrücke (bridge). Continue straight for three kilometers on the "Innere Kanalstraße". As you approach the television tower, make a U-Turn, then continue toward the MediaPark. Turn left and proceed until you enter the Mediapark garage. Mediapark parking garage entrance will be on the left. 3

4 From A555 Motorway (all directions): Proceed on the A555 until the Cologne-South (Köln-Süd) motorway interchange, then exit onto the A4 toward Aachen. Drive until Köln-Klettenberg. At the next intersection, turn right onto Luxemburger Straße toward Cologne City Center. Bear left and make a U-Turn before reaching the tower block, then turn right at the crossway onto Universitätsstraße. Bear right, and then turn right onto Subbelthaler Straße in front of the television tower. Turn left and proceed until you enter the Mediapark garage. Mediapark parking garage entrance will be on the left. Travelling by train: From Cologne's main station, you can catch any subway train toward Hansaring Station, just one station away. Get off at Hansaring, turn right and after a few steps you will see the NH hotel. Travelling by plain: The closest airport to the Conference venue NH Köln Mediapark Hotel is Cologne-Bonn Airport, By Train From Cologne-Bonn Airport to NH Köln Mediapark Hotel S-Bahn S13 inter-urban trains leave from Cologne-Bonn Airport every 30 minutes. The average journey to the nearest station to the Hotel Köln Hansaring takes 18 minutes. The cost of the ticket is about 3. By taxi Taxi from Cologne-Bonn Airport to NH Köln Mediapark Hotel will cost 27-30; the taxi rank is outside the main doors of the Airport and it takes about 20 minutes. There is a train station in the airport with direct trains to Cologne main station and it takes 20 minutes. 5 Social Activities Opening reception The official kick-start of the EPR Annual Conference 2014 will take place in the NH Köln Mediapark Hotel on Wednesday 25 June at 18:00. Participants are invited to attend the opening reception presided by the host organisation Josefs-Gesellschaft (JG). The conference dinner The traditional conference dinner will take place at the end of the first conference day, on Thursday 26 June at 19:00, in the typical "Brauhaus Früh am Dom", located in Am Hof in the city centre. For more information, please visit the official Früh website, Departure by tram is scheduled at 18:30, meeting point at the hotel s entrance. Participants wishing to stay longer in the city centre after the dinner can go back to the Hotel in Mediapark by tram, taxi or by walk. The buffet dinner includes five drinks to be chosen among beer, soft and wine. Participants who wish to attend the evening shall confirm their participation in the registration form. Keep your dress code casual, and remember to bring a warm cardigan!
