Expression of Interest Form 2017 Useful information to note: Applications Close - Friday 22 July 2016 (received by close of business 5pm) All applicants will be notified of the Expression of Interest (EOI) outcome early September No fee to the artist/s for use of the Hub Gallery All EOI s will be considered on the quality of work submitted, concept, suitability and appropriateness. The Caboolture Regional Art Gallery Art exhibition program will be taken into consideration in the Expression of Interest evaluation process. Artists are responsible for costs associated with an opening event. Artists are responsible for production of an exhibition flyer/dl after consultation with the gallery. All printed matter must be approved by the gallery. Artists to provide all label information one month before the exhibition opening. Caboolture Regional Art Gallery will promote each exhibition in conjunction with the overall exhibition program. Caboolture Regional Art Gallery will provide professional support in the installation and exhibition design. Caboolture Regional Art Gallery will provide exhibition signage for each exhibition.

Introduction Artists, arts organisations and community cultural groups are invited to submit an Expression of Interest to present an exhibition of art, sculpture, installation work, photography, 3D works, ceramics, sculpture, cultural heritage, fabric and textile art, video/multi media film and products from community cultural projects at the Hub Gallery in the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery throughout The vision of the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery is to provide a facility that serves as a vibrant and creative centre for the arts, for the use and enjoyment of the Moreton Bay region community and beyond. The main aims of the Hub Gallery in the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery are: To encourage, promote and showcase all levels of artistic and cultural expression, within the arts community of Moreton Bay region. To include a diversity of exhibitions and activities that present arts practices within the Australian art scene and beyond. About the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery The Caboolture Regional Art Gallery has four galleries; the Main Gallery, the Long Gallery, the Focus Gallery and the Hub Gallery. The Main, Focus and the Long Galleries are used for selected, curated, themed & travelling exhibitions. About the Hub Gallery The Hub Gallery is available for use by community arts organisations and individual artists/artisans through an expression of interest. Expressions of Interest are evaluated by a panel of professional staff members. Expressions of Interest open for the 2017 calendar are now open. 4 2. Terms and Conditions 1. The Hub Gallery is available only for art exhibitions. Gallery dimensions and a map of the venue are attached. The Hub Gallery is a stand alone gallery space within the ground floor foyer next to the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery. It has a lockable separate entry, storage space, art tracking and wire hanging system. Plinths with lockable perspex box lids are also available for loan free of charge. Hanging assistance will be provided by trained staff members. 2. The Hub Gallery is only available for booking of a 4 week period and will be open to coincide with the Regional Art Gallery open hours, open Monday to Friday, 9am 4pm, Saturday 9am-3pm. Entry is free. 3. Applicants must be residents or rate payers or have a long term relationship with the arts in the Moreton Bay Region. 4. All applications will be considered on the quality of work submitted, concept, suitability and appropriateness. Caboolture Regional Art Gallery Art exhibition program will be taken into consideration in the Expression of Interest evaluation process. 5. The selection panel reserves the right to accept or reject any Expression of Interest or artwork. 6. The Caboolture Regional Art Gallery delivers an exhibition program that reflects diversity of art-form, cultural expression and relevance to community. 7. Works of art can be made available for sale through the Hub retail shop and can be purchased by cash, debit or credit card. A commission of 25% is taken on all sales. It is the responsibility of the applicant to observe Australian taxation regulations. 8. Applicants exhibition dates will need to be flexible allowing the Gallery to program vibrant and diverse of exhibitions for the benefit of the community throughout the year. 9. Successful applicants will receive professional development support and advice on how to present their work, create artist work labels and write artist s statements. The gallery is happy to edit statements within reason. 10. Successful applicants must develop their own media release. 11. Successful applicants must develop a DL flyer and distribute using their own mailing list. This must be checked and approved by gallery staff. 12. Successful applications will need to be placed on Council s supplier list for consignment if they wish to sell works of art. 13. All works of art must be ready for hanging, framed with the exception of stretched canvas works or fabric hangings, and have D rings placed on the back ready to hang. D rings should be uniformly placed approximately 10cms from the top. 14. When delivered all works of art must have labels on the back clearly indicating artist s name title of the art work medium and surface date the work was created sale price ( if applicable)

5 15. Plinths for sculptural works may be available for use from the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery for use in the Hub gallery. 16. Successful applicants must provide a formatted list (as listed below) of all works of art to the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery one month prior to the exhibition date: artists name title of the art work medium and surface date the work was created sale price Curatorial Decision 17. The Caboolture Regional Art Gallery Venue Supervisor or their nominated representative retains the indisputable right and curatorial discretion to change, deny or remove any work of art, signage or wording placed in the Gallery that they deem inappropriate, unsuitable, poorly presented, occasioning concern or risk to the general public or offensive to public taste. Artists will be informed of this decision verbally or by . Publicity 18. The Caboolture Regional Art Gallery will publicise and promote exhibitions and events via generic mail outs. The artist/s will be responsible for the development of their Exhibition DL invitations for the opening and will acknowledge the support of the MBRC. Openings and Catering 19. Opening date and time to be negotiated with the Venue Supervisor. Councillors must be invited to officially open the exhibition. 20. Catering is the responsibility of the artist and must be negotiated with the Caboolture Hub Business and Learning Centre. Please note food and wine cannot be obtained, supplied or served by non MBRC staff. Hanging the works 21. The Gallery exhibition hanging team is responsible for installation of the exhibition. 22. Applicants need to plan within their exhibition schedule to include time at the beginning of the exhibition to install (Monday Morning 10am 12pm). Insurance 23. Council does not insure the works of art in the exhibition. Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibiting artist/s. General 24. Conditions are subject to change and variation under Council authority.
