Remove the battery from the packagng. 2. Remove the battery compartment cover. 3. Insert the battery nto the battery compartment. 4. Close the battery compartment. Key ON / OFF [ 2 ] Touchscreen [ 3 ] Dsplay external power supply and Bluetooth dsplay: The power supply dsplay lghts up ORANGE when the devce s connected to an external power source. The Bluetooth dsplay lghts up BLUE when the P 9611 has establshed a Bluetooth connecton to a moble telephone. When chargng the battery for the frst tme, t should reman connected to the power supply for at least 12 hours. 6 02 Pror to commssonng [ 1 ] Installng the car holder [ Fg. 3 ] Cauton The car holder must be affxed to the wndscreen so that the vew out of the wndscreen s not restrcted. [ 4 ] Note: before nstallng the car holder, the wndscreen should be thoroughly cleaned wth a glass cleaner. The wndscreen temperature should not be below 15 C. Carefully remove the Memory Card from ts packagng, takng care not to touch or sol the contacts. 2. Hold the Memory Card so that the cut-off edge s postoned downwards and to the left. 3. Carefully push the Memory Card nto the card slot on the LEFT SIDE of the devce, untl t locks nto poston Removng the Memory Card [ 5 ] 1. Place the holder wth the sucton cup onto the wndscreen. [ Fg. 3 ] 2. Press the lever on the sucton cup n the drecton of the wndscreen untl t stcks to the wndscreen. 3. Place the navgaton devce nto the car holder. [ Fg. 4 ] 4. Press the devce aganst the car holder untl t clcks audbly nto place. 5. Insert the power supply connector nto the cgarette lghter socket. 6. Release the catch for the ball-and-socket jont. [ Fg. 5 ] 7. Poston the holder so that the dsplay can easly be seen. [ Fg. 6 ] 8. Press the catch for the ball-and-socket jont back n the drecton of the devce. 9. Insert the mn USB connector of the car chargng cable nto the power supply socket on the back of the car holder. [ Fg. 7 ] Fg. 1 Fg. 2 Note: all applcatons must be closed and the navgaton system turned off before the Memory Card s removed. 1. Press lghtly aganst the edge of the SD card untl the catch releases. 2. Pull the card out wthout touchng the contacts. [ Fg. 2 ] Swtchng on the navgaton devce 1. Press and hold the ON / OFF button for 1.5 sec. [ Fg. 8 ] 2. Select the desred language when prompted to do so. 3. Touch the OK button. The START DISPLAY appears. 4. Touch the NAVIGATION button n the START DISPLAY n order to open the navgaton software. 5. Touch the MP3 PLAYER button n the START DISPLAY n order to open the MP3 player. Fg

7 02 Pror to commssonng Fg Touch the SETTINGS button n the START DISPLAY n order to adjust the language and brghtness settngs or to calbrate the touchscreen. 2.3 Turnng the devce on and off, Reset General nformaton on swtchng on and off In order to mnmze battery charge loss whle reducng swtch-on tme, the devce also has a standby mode. Swtchng on To swtch on the devce, press and hold the on/off button down for 1.5 seconds. The devce powers up wthn 2 seconds from standby mode, or wthn 35 seconds from off mode. Swtchng off You can swtch the devce to standby mode by pressng the on/off button brefly (recommended). To swtch to off mode, you must press and hold the on/off button for 4 seconds. In ths mode, the devce requres no power, but cannot be charged. Fg Navgaton wth GPS GPS s based on a total of 24 satelltes that crcle the earth and, n dong so, are constantly transmttng ther poston and the current tme. The GPS recever receves ths data and calculates ts own geographcal poston on the bass of the nformaton broadcast by the varous satelltes. In order to determne poston precsely, t s necessary to obtan the data from at least three satelltes. Wth the data from 4 or more satelltes, the alttude above sea level can also be ascertaned. Poston s accurate wthn 3 metres. Once P 9611 has determned your poston, ths poston can be used as a startng pont for a route calculaton. The map data on your navgaton devce ncludes the geographcal coordnates of all dgtally recorded ponts of nterest, streets and places. Usng ths data, the system s able to calculate a route from any gven startng pont to a destnaton. The calculaton of the current poston and ts representaton on the map takes place once every second, so your current poston s always shown on the map. Fg. 5 Fg. 6 Reset Should the devce show sgns of malfuncton, then please carry out a reset. To do ths, press the reset button on the back of the devce. [page 59] The devce wll then restart (warmstart). If ths does not work, or the malfuncton perssts, please carry out a hardware reset (Coldstart). To do ths, press and hold the on/off button for 4 seconds when the devce s swtched on. Wat a few seconds and then swtch on the devce usng the on/off button. Note: you can get nformaton regardng changng ndvdual settngs by touchng the HELP button. Fg Important safety nformaton In your own nterest, read the followng notces and safety nformaton carefully before startng up your navgaton system Navgaton safety nformaton Use the navgaton system at your own rsk. Cauton To prevent accdents, do not program the navgaton system whle drvng. Only look at the touchscreen when t s safe to do so and the traffc stuaton allows t. Traffc regulatons have prorty over any nstructons from the navgaton system

8 02 Pror to commssonng 03 Operatng the Navgaton Software Do not follow the nstructons of the navgaton system unless the crcumstances and the traffc regulatons allow you to do so Should t be necessary to devate from the calculated route, the navgaton system wll automatcally calculate a new route. Note: should the spoken nstructons not be clear, the map and arrow dsplay serves as an addtonal ad to orentaton Safety gudelnes when nstallng n your car Cauton Make sure you do not attach the holder wthn the deployment zone of the arbag. When nstallng the holder, you should ensure that t wll not present a safety rsk n the event of an accdent Safety nstructons for the navgaton devce Cauton The navgaton devce s to be kept dry as t s not water resstant. Do not lay the cable drectly next to safetyrelevant devces and supply lnes. After nstallaton, all safety-relevant systems n the car should be checked. When leavng the car, pull the chargng cable connector out of the cgarette lghter socket, otherwse the GPS recever wll contnually consume power and the car battery could dscharge. Please use only accessores desgned for ths model. Please do not expose the devce or the battery to temperatures above 60 C. Note: only use a most cloth for cleanng and do not use aggressve solvents. The case of the navgaton devce may otherwse be damaged. the connector should not be pulled out by the cable as ths may damage t do not knk the cable and ensure that t does not become damaged by sharp objects. 3.1 Volume The volume of the spoken drvng nstructons from the P 9611 can be adjusted durng navgaton usng the volume control or software as follows. You have started navgaton. The map s n NAVIGATION or DESTINATION SEARCH mode. 1. Touch the VOLUME button. The volume bar opens. It contans three buttons for adjustng the volume. 2. Touch the LOUDER QUIETER VOLUME ON / OFF VOLUME button agan. The volume bar closes. 3.2 Informaton Symbols located at the top of the screen are used to dsplay nformaton. GPS The GPS symbol can show the followng GPSrecepton status: NO GPS: The bult-n GPS recever s not operatonal. If ths problem perssts, consult customer servce. NO SIGNAL (red): Data are beng receved from less than three satelltes. The poston cannot be calculated. GPS READY (grey): Data are beng receved from at least three satelltes. The poston can be calculated. Refer to chapter GPS status on page 83 for detaled nformaton regardng the GPS status. Energy The ENERGY symbol can dsplay the followng condtons of the bult-n battery: The devce s beng suppled by an external power source. The battery s beng charged. The devce s beng suppled by ts nternal battery. The battery charge s suffcent. The devce s beng suppled by ts nternal battery. The battery charge s low. Drecton The DIRECTION symbol shows you n whch drecton you are currently movng. It can show the followng ponts of the compass: N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW. TMC [ Traffc nformaton ] The TMC symbol can dsplay the followng TMC states: NO SYMBOL: The bult-n TMC recever s not operatonal. If ths problem perssts, consult customer servce. TUNING (red): The TMC recever s operatonal, but cannot fnd a transmtter that s sendng TMC sgnals. TMC ON STANDBY (grey): Traffc messages can be receved. For detals of the TMC functons, please refer to chapter TMC [ Traffc Informaton ], page

9 03 Operatng the Navgaton Software 04 Navgaton 3.3 Software keyboard A software keyboard appears at the bottom of the screen when text entres are necessary. All entres can be made on the software keyboard usng your fngertps. Only captal letters can be entered. When enterng the name of a town or street, t s not necessary to enter any specal characters or umlauts. P 9611 replaces these characters automatcally. If, for example, you are searchng for Würzburg, then smply enter WURZBURG. You need not enter specal characters when enterng a destnaton s town or street name, but they may be helpful for enterng names for saved destnatons and tnerares. Specal keys enters a space character. deletes the character to the left of the cursor. opens the numerc keypad. opens the character keyboard. opens the specal character keyboard. As soon as you have entered a specal character, the letter keyboard reappears. 3.4 Lsts There are many cases where you have to select an entry from a lst. Ths s the case, for example, when you enter a locaton. As soon as you enter the frst letter, the largest cty n the gven country that begns wth ths letter appears. As soon as you enter the second letter, a lst appears wth all locatons that begn wth the gven letters. If you enter addtonal letters, the lst adapts to your entres. Ths means that you wll always be presented wth entres that begn wth the letters entered or entres that contan the entered letters n ther name. To select an entry, proceed as follows: 1. You can move around n the lst by means of the UP and DOWN buttons. 2. Touch the desred entry. The lst wll close as soon as you have confrmed an entry. 3.5 Optons Some wndows have optons whch lead to addtonal functons. For detaled nformaton on the optons, please refer to chapter Optons on page Menus Some buttons have menus whch open when actvated. 1. Touch a menu button to select ts functon. 2. Touch the same menu button to close the wndow agan. Use navgaton system at your own rsk. Cauton Please be sure to refer to the safety nformaton n the Important safety nformaton chapter on page 62. Obstructed GPS recepton If GPS recepton s hndered, navgaton wll be nterrupted. The navgaton software remans actve. As soon as GPS sgnals can be receved, the navgaton system wll determne your current poston and navgaton can be contnued. Arrvng at your destnaton When you have reached the specfed destnaton, a message to ths effect wll be dsplayed. Your current poston wll then be shown on the map by a trangle n green. 4.1 Startng P Swtch on the navgaton devce. 2. Touch the NAVIGATION button n the START SCREEN. The followng message appears: Please note that the road traffc regulatons have prorty over the nstructons of the navgaton system. Please do not operate the devce whle drvng. 3. Touch the CANCEL button n order to gnore the message. Ths wll close the navgaton software. 4. Otherwse, touch the OK button, n order to accept. The man menu opens. You can reach any of the navgaton software functons va the man wndow. Touch the desred button n the bottom margn of the screen: player. MP3 PLAYER n order to open the MP3 HANDS-FREE MODULE n order to brng the hands-free module nto the foreground. START SCREEN n order to brng the START SCREEN nto the foreground Intalsng the GPS recever Note: It can take up to 30 mnutes to ntalze the GPS recever for the frst tme. Each tme you swtch on the recever after ths, the GPS recepton wll start wthn one mnute. The next ntalsaton may take up to 30 mnutes f the navgaton devce was not used for a longer perod of tme, and/or the last destnaton to whch you navgated les more than 190 mles from your present locaton. As soon as the navgaton devce has been swtched on, ntalzaton of the GPS recever wll begn. In the rght-hand top corner of the dsplay, you wll see the GPS symbol. As soon as data from at least 3 satelltes are receved, the symbol changes to GPS READY (red). Note: f the GPS symbol dsplays GPS READY (red) after consderably less than 20 mnutes, t s advsable to swtch off the recever for at least 15 mnutes so as to ensure relable operaton. Cauton When leavng the car, the power supply s to be nterrupted va the cgar lghter socket. As the GPS recever requres a constant supply of power, t could dran the vehcle s battery. Openng the man menu Touch the NAVIGATION button n the START SCREEN. If another wndow s open, touch the appears. BACK button untl the man wndow 66 67

10 04 Navgaton 4.2 Specfyng a new destnaton New destnatons for the P 9611 are all destnatons that you have not yet navgated, or you have not yet stored. You can enter an address here, select a specal destnaton, or select a destnaton from the quck search functon. If you are enterng a new destnaton for the frst tme, the COVERED COUNTRIES lst opens. Tap on the country n whch your destnaton les Specfy destnaton country Above the rght-hand upper corner of the uppermost entry feld of the wndow ADDRESS, POI IN A CITY, and POI OF NATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE, s the COUNTRY button. It shows the country code of the country of whch current navgaton destnatons can be entered. If your destnaton s n a dfferent country, then proceed as follows: 1. Touch the COUNTRY button. The COVERED COUNTRIES lst opens. 2. Touch the country n whch the destnaton les. The COVERED COUNTRIES lst closes agan. The symbol wll dsplay the country code of the destnaton country. Note: only countres whch are dsplayed at least partally can be selected from the current map Address of destnaton 1. In the man menu, touch the NAVIGATE button. 2. Select ENTER AN ADDRESS. The ADDRESS wndow opens. 3. Enter the name of the town or the postcode. 4. Enter the name of the street. Alternatvely, you can enter the name of a well-known object, such as Olympc Stadum or Effel Tower. 5. Enter the house number [ optonal ]. 6. If a house number s not known, the name of a sde street can be entered n the feld provded, n order to navgate to the ntersecton of the two streets. Note: It s not necessary to enter all the address detals. If you specfy the town only, the navgaton system wll calculate a route to the town center. If you specfy the town and street wthout specfyng a house number or sde street, the navgaton system wll calculate a route to the center of the street entered. 7. Touch the START NAVIGATION button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode. Note: For detaled nformaton on how to start the navgaton system, please refer to chapter Startng navgaton page Specal destnaton Specal destnatons, also known as to POIs [ Ponts Of Interest ] are useful addresses that are catalogued accordng to partcular crtera. Ports, arports, restaurants, hotels, gas statons, publc buldngs, and others belong to the specal destnatons. Ponts of nterest can be dsplayed on the map by means of a symbol. 1. In the man menu, touch the OPTIONS button. 2. Select SETTINGS. 3. Touch POI n order to select whch categores are to be dsplayed on the map. Specal destnatons nearby Specal destnatons nearby are specal destnatons that are located wthn a partcular radus of your current locaton. Ths means you can always fnd, for example, the nearest gas staton, no matter where you are. Note: The GPS-recepton must be suffcent for poston determnaton. Sutable GPS recepton s desgnated by means of the GPS READY (grey) symbol. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter GPS status on page 83. In quck access mode, there are categores of specal destnatons avalable from the current vcnty, whch can be searched quckly and wthout addtonal entry. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Quck Access Ponts of Interest on page In the man menu, touch the NAVIGATE button. 2. Select SEARCH FOR POI. 3. Touch NEARBY. The POI NEARBY wndow opens. 4. Enter the category of the desred POI. If subcategores exst for the category you have selected, the SUBCATEGORY lst wll open. 5. Enter the subcategory of the desred POI. The NAME OF THE DESTINATION lst opens. It contans the nearest ponts of nterest n the specfed category, sorted by dstance. 6. Touch the name of the destnaton. 7. Touch the START NAVIGATION button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode. For detaled nformaton on how to start the navgaton system, please refer to chapter Startng navgaton page 72. Natonwde Ponts of Interest Natonwde Ponts of Interest are arports, places of nterest, natonal monuments, large ports, etc. Ths enables you to fnd places of nterest, for example, wthout havng to know the name of the locaton. 1. In the man menu, touch the NAVIGATE button. 2. Select SEARCH FOR POI. 3. Touch NATIONWIDE. The POI OF NATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE wndow opens. 4. Enter the category of the desred POI. The NAME OF THE DESTINATION lst opens. It contans the nearest ponts of nterest n the specfed category, sorted by dstance. 5. Touch the name of the destnaton. 6. Touch the START NAVIGATION button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode. For detaled nformaton on how to start the navgaton system, please refer to chapter Startng navgaton page 72. Pont of Interest n a gven locaton Ponts of Interest n a gven locaton can be useful when navgatng n an unfamlar town. 1. In the man menu, touch the NAVIGATE button. 2. Select SEARCH FOR POI. 3. Touch IN A CITY. The POI IN A CITY wndow opens. 4. Enter the name of the town or the postcode. 5. Enter the category of the desred POI. If subcategores exst for the category you have selected, the SUBCATEGORY lst wll open. 6. Enter the subcategory of the desred POI. The NAME OF THE DESTINATION lst opens. It contans the specal destnatons from the specfed category, sorted alphabetcally. 7. Touch the name of the destnaton. 8. Touch the START NAVIGATION button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode. For detaled nformaton on how to start the navgaton system, please refer to chapter Startng navgaton page Informaton about the destnaton For many destnatons that you specfy, there wll be further nformaton avalable stored n the navgaton system s database, e.g., telephone numbers of restaurants. From one of the destnaton entry wndows descrbed above, proceed as follows: 68 69

11 04 Navgaton 1. Touch the DESTINATION INFO button. The DESTINATION INFO wndow opens. It contans all nformaton about the specfed destnaton that s stored n the navgaton system s database. Touch the SHOW ON MAP button n order to show the destnaton on the map. Touch the button to call the destnaton drectly. Touch the CANCEL button to close the DESTINATION INFO wndow Quck Access Ponts of Interest The quck access system contans three categores of Ponts of Interest. Destnatons n your vcnty that correspond to these categores can be lsted quckly wthout the need for addtonal entres. 1. In the man menu, touch the OPTIONS button. 2. Select SETTINGS. 3. Touch POI n order to set whch categores are avalable n the quck access system. Note: The GPS recepton must be suffcent for poston determnaton. Touch the pont to whch you want to navgate. The destnaton that you have selected appears under the crosshars. The geographcal coordnates of the destnaton and the correspondng address s shown n the bottom thrd of the screen. 4. Touch the OK button. The DESTINATION ON MAP wndow opens. The detaled address data of the selected destnaton s dsplayed n the lefthand upper corner. 5. Touch the TAKE ME THERE button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode. The route and the estmated trp tme s dsplayed. A so-called route profle forms the bass of the route calculaton. Touch the ROUTE PROFILE button f you don t want to vew or change the route profle. Note: f you change the route optons, these reman vald for subsequent navgaton. You can get nformaton regardng the ndvdual route profle settngs by clckng on the correspondng No GPS recepton When the receved GPS sgnal s not suffcent, the followng message appears: No GPS sgnal avalable at present. Would you lke to use the last known poston? You have the followng possbltes: Touch the OK button. The route wll be calculated usng the last known poston as the startng pont. As soon as the GPS recepton s suffcent for determnng the poston, the route wll be recalculated and you can begn the navgaton. Touch the CANCEL button. The man menu opens. The destnaton s now saved to the LAST DESTINATIONS lst. Every destnaton that you enter and the destnatons from the LAST DESTINATIONS lst may be added to the FAVORITES lst. Ths makes sense f you navgate frequently to the same destnaton Savng a destnaton 1. Enter the destnaton wthout pressng the START NAVIGATION button. 2. Touch the OPTIONS button. 3. Select SAVE DESTINATION. OR 1. Select the destnaton from the LAST DESTINATIONS lst, wthout touchng the START NAVIGATION button. 2. Touch the OPTIONS button. 3. Select SAVE AS FAVOURITE. 4. Enter a name for the destnaton. 5. If you want to defne the destnaton as your home address, touch the Defne destnaton as home address You can determne a destnaton from the FAVORITES lst as the home address, n order to enable quck and easy navgaton to ths address va the man wndow. In order to do so, touch the TAKE ME HOME button. To save an address as home address, proceed as follows: 1. Select the destnaton from the FAVORITES lst that s to be defned as the home address. 2. Touch the OPTIONS button. 3. Select HOME ADDRESS. The selected destnaton has now been saved as your home address. The home address s shown n the FAVORITES lst wth the house symbol. HELP button. TOGGLE button, so that the YES value s hghlghted n black. 6. Touch the SAVE button

13 06 Routes wth varous stages It s possble to plan routes at home wthout GPS recepton, n order to, for example, to plan a vacaton route based on a defned route. 6.1 Plannng routes 1. In the man wndow, touch the OPTIONS button. The optons lst opens. 2. Select ROUTE PLANNING. The ROUTE PLANNING wndow opens Enter the startng pont The startng pont of a route s the pont at whch you want to begn your trp. Ths can dffer from your current locaton. The startng pont s only mportant f you want to see a planned route on the map, but currently have no GPS recepton or you are not currently at the planned startng pont. The startng pont that you enter therefore has the flow number 0. As soon as you begn navgaton, your current locaton wll be used as the bass for the route calculaton. The frst stage s therefore the trp to the route stage wth the flow number Touch the SPECIFY STARTING POINT feld. The STARTING POINT menu opens. If you want to enter your current locaton as the startng pont: 2. Tap on the CURRENT POSITION menu pont. If you want to enter a dfferent startng pont: 3. Touch the correspondng button. 4. Enter the desred startng pont. 5. Touch the SET STARTING POINT button. The selected startng pont wll now be shown next to the 0 [ Startng pont ] button. Change the startng pont Touch the SPECIFY STARTING POINT feld. The STARTING POINT menu opens. You can now enter a dfferent startng pont. Proceed as descrbed above Enterng route stages Route stages are ponts wthn the route that you want to navgate to. In front of every route stage s ts flow number on a button. 1. Touch the SPECIFY ROUTE POINT feld. The ROUTE POINT menu opens. 2. Select the type of destnaton entry. 3. Enter the route pont. 4. Touch the ADD button. The selected route stage wll now be shown next to ts flow number. Repeat ths step for each addtonal destnaton that you want to add to your route Edtng route stages Route stages can be deleted from a route. The order of the route stages can be vared as you wsh. Note: the startng pont cannot be moved or deleted. Touch the route pont that s to be edted. The context menu contans the followng buttons: ROUTE POINT UP: Moves the selected route stage up. [ e.g., route stage 2 wll become route stage 1 ] ROUTE POINT DOWN: Moves the selected route stage down. [ e.g., route pont 2 wll become route pont 3 ] DELETES the selected route stage. A dalog box prompts you to confrm. 6.2 Managng routes Each planned route can be saved under a partcular name. Note: only the route startng ponts and the route stages wll be saved, not the calculated route. If you load a route, you wll have to recalculate t. Stored routes can be loaded, renamed or deleted Savng a route The ROUTE PLANNING wndow s open. You have entered the startng pont and at least one route stage. 1. Touch the OPTIONS button. 2. Select SAVE ROUTE. 3. Enter the name for the route. 4. Touch the SAVE button. The destnaton s now entered nto the SAVED ROUTES lst Loadng a route 1. Touch the OPTIONS button. 2. Select SAVED ROUTES. 3. Touch your desred route. 4. Touch the LOAD ROUTE button. The ROUTE PLANNING wndow opens. The startng pont and the route stages of the loaded route are entered. 6.3 Navgaton In order to smulate a route, the system frst has to calculate the route Calculatng and dsplayng the route A route may be calculated and dsplayed on the map even wthout GPS recepton n order to get an mpresson of the tnerary. The ROUTE PLANNING wndow s open. The startng pont and at least one stage have been entered. 1. Touch the SHOW ROUTE button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode.the startng pont and the route stages are marked by flags. For each stage, the dstance and the estmated trp tme s gven. These data are also gven for the entre trp Smulatng the route You can also smulate navgaton. Note: the recepton of GPS sgnals s not necessary for the smulaton. Smulaton s restrcted to routes of max 60 m. You have calculated and dsplayed a route. 1. Touch the OPTIONS button. 2. Select SIMULATION. The route wll be recalculated for smulaton purposes. Smulaton starts when calculaton has fnshed. Endng smulaton You may stop a smulaton at any tme. 1. Touch the BACK button. When cancellaton of the smulaton has been confrmed, the man wndow opens

As soon as the GPS recepton s suffcent for determnng the poston, the route wll be recalculated and you can restart the navgaton. Touch the CANCEL button n the lst n order to store the destnaton n the LAST DESTINA- TIONS lst. Some wndows have optons whch lead to addtonal functons. 1. Touch the OPTIONS button to open the optons lst. 2. Select the desred opton. 3. Touch the OPTIONS button agan n order to close the lst wthout selectng an opton. DELETE ALL: Deletes all destnatons from the LAST DESTINATIONS lst. The lst s then empty. The delete process must be confrmed by means of a dalog wndow. SHOW MAP: Opens the map screen n DESTINATI- ON SEARCH mode. A navgaton destnaton can be determned drectly on the map from here. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Determnng the destnaton on the map on page 71. DELETE: Deletes the selected destnaton from the FAVORITES lst or the selected route from the SAVED ROUTES lst. The delete process must be confrmed by means of a dalog wndow. HELP button. 2. Select START NAVIGATION or just commence your journey. SAVE AS FAVOURITE: Saves the gven destnaton to the FAVORITES lst. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Savng a destnaton on page 73. NEW ROUTE: Deletes the startng pont and all route stages from the ROUTE PLANNING wndow, so that you can plan a new route. The prevously planned route should be saved under a dfferent name, f necessary. SHOW ON MAP: Shows the gven address on the map. SETTINGS: Opens the SETTINGS wndow n whch the navgaton system can be confgured. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Confgurng P 9611 on page 85. SAVED ROUTES: Opens a wndow n whch a saved route can be loaded. GPS STATUS: Opens the GPS STATUS wndow. Detals regardng GPS recepton can be vewed here and data regardng the current locaton can be stored. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter GPS status on page 83. HOME ADDRESS: Saves the selected destnaton as your home address whch can then be started va the TAKE ME HOME button. PRODUCT INFO: Opens a wndow n whch you can obtan nformaton regardng the nstalled software as well as the tme stored n the navgaton system. SAVE ROUTE: Opens a wndow n whch a planned route can be saved under a partcular name. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Savng a route on page 75. ROUTE PLANNING: Opens the ROUTE PLANNING wndow. Routes can be planned, edted and navgaton for a planned route can be started from here. CALIBRATION: Opens a wndow n whch the touchscreen can be recalbrated, n the event that t becomes mprecse to the touch

TRAFFIC: Opens the TRAFFIC INFORMATION wndow, n whch pendng reports can be lsted. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter TMC [ Traffc nformaton ], page 83. STORE A VOICE COMMAND: Opens a wndow n whch a voce command for the selected destnaton can be gven to the devce, when prompted. Ths means that navgaton to the destnaton can always be started on command. RENAME: Opens a wndow n whch you can change the name of the selected destnaton or route. FACTORY SETTINGS: Opens a wndow n whch all settngs can be restored to ther orgnal factory settngs. DELETE DESTINATION: Deletes the marked destnaton from the LAST DESTINATIONS or FAVORITES lsts. The delete process must be confrmed by means of a dalog wndow. SAVE DESTINATION: Saves the gven address n the FAVORITES lst. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Savng a destnaton on page 73. ADD TO ROUTE: Opens the route plannng. The address entered wll be entered as the frst route stage of a new route. For detaled nformaton, please refer to chapter Plannng routes on page Maps Even f you have stored numerous navgaton maps on the navgaton system s memory card, P 9611 can only work wth one map at a tme. In order to see whch map s currently n use, proceed as follows: 1. Touch the OPTIONS button. 2. Select SETTINGS. 3. Touch CURRENT MAP. 8.2 Map n Prevew mode You have entered a destnaton and touched on the START NAVIGATION button. OR You have planned or loaded a route and touched the SHOW ROUTE button. The map screen opens n PREVIEW mode. You can see the entre route. [ Fg. 9 ] If you dsplay a route wth several stages, you wll see ths nformaton for each stage. In order to vew or, f necessary, change the settngs whch form the bass of a calculated route, proceed as follows: 1. Touch the ROUTE PROFILE button. 2. Select START NAVIGATION n order to begn the trp. When you dsplay a planned or loaded route, the route may be recalculated. Your current locaton wll be ntegrated nto the calculaton. The navgaton wll ntally gude you to the frst route stage entered. In order to open the map screen n DESTINATION SEARCH mode: 1. Touch the DESTINATION SEARCH button. [1] The route s marked GREEN. If you dsplay a planned or loaded route and the gven startng pont s not the same as your current locaton, then the current poston may not be shown on the prevew. 8.3 Map n Navgaton mode After the route has been vewed n PREVIEW mode, the navgaton has been started. The map screen opens n NAVIGATION mode. [ Fg. 10 ] [1] Shows the sgnng that s to be followed. [ 2 ] Possble speed lmts may be shown here. [ 3 ] If two maneuvers need to be executed quckly ths shows the maneuver to be executed mmedately after the next maneuver. [ 4 ] Shows a dagram of the next juncton where you should turn off. Underneath s the remanng dstance to ths juncton. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] When you approach the juncton, you wll see a spot dagram nstead of the dstance. The nearer you are to the juncton, the fewer green spots are dsplayed. If you don t have to change drecton for a longer perod, you wll only see a forwardfacng arrow wth the dstance shown underneath, whch shows how long you are to follow the current road. [ 5 ] The route s depcted n the GREEN. [ 6 ] A trangle n GREEN shows the current poston on the map. The dsplayed sector of the map changes contnually to show your current poston centered on the map whenever possble. [ 7 ] The heght above sea level and the current speed s shown here. [ 8 ] Shows the route, the estmated trp duraton, and the estmated tme of arrval. [ 9 ] Shows the entre route, the estmated trp duraton and the estmated tme of arrval for the current stage. [ 5 ] [ 7 ] [ 8 ] [ 6 ] [ 10 ] [ 9 ] [ 11 ] [ 12 ] [10 ] The traffc lanes that lead to your destnaton are depcted n the GREEN. [11 ] The name of the route secton that you need to drve onto next s shown n the upper street feld. [12 ] The name of the street you are currently drvng on s shown n the lower street feld. Note: The dsplays for many of the above mentoned areas can be confgured va OPTIONS > SETTINGS > BASIC SETTINGS. A number of dsplays only work when the correspondng nformaton s avalable on the map. If you touch the large arrow feld, then the current route nstructon wll be repeated.[4] Qut navgaton In order to end navgaton, proceed as follows: 1. Touch the BACK button. 2. Confrm quttng. Map functons n Navgaton mode When the map s open n the NAVIGATION mode, touch any pont on the map. Varous buttons wth optons wll be dsplayed. 2D / 3D: Changes between 2D and 3D mode. The symbol of the mode currently set s dsplayed n green. DAY / NIGHT: Toggles between the DAY and NIGHT touchscreen dsplay modes. The symbol of the mode currently set s dsplayed n green. INTERIM DESTINATION: Opens the menu for enterng a way pont. The navgaton system wll then gude you to ths way pont frst. Afterwards, you can contnue your journey to your orgnal destnaton. SKIP ROUTE POINT: When ths button s touched, the next route pont s omtted. Ths button s nactve when less than 2 stages are pendng. BLOCK: Blocks a route stage n order to, e.g., avod a traffc jam. The route wll then be calculated around the blocked route stage. Touch ths button once n order to remove the block. POI ON YOUR ROUTE: Touchng ths button dsplays Ponts of Interest on the gven route. A destnaton shown here can also be selected as a way pont. In order to do so, touch the INTERIM DESTINATION button. 8.4 Map n Destnaton search mode The map s always n DESTINATION SEARCH mode, when a par of crosshars are to be seen. [ Fg. 10 ] When you are drvng, the map does not change drecton. It s always orented wth north shown at the top. ZOOM OUT: The map secton enlarges. There are fewer detals shown.
